I never got into model trains but I wonder why radio control hasn’t caught on especially in the larger scales. It seems to me there would be advantages of not having to depend on the rails for power.
I agree, if I was starting over again at the beginning in a larger scale, I would seriously look at radio control. I believe it's catching on in the UK.
Awesome layout and trains!! Thanks loads!!
Is your payout proto48? It's hard for me to tell. Beautiful work either way.
No, Gary's layout is standard O scale, but with hand built trackwork to very fine standards, so
it is difficult to tell the difference.
@@RailwayWorld His attention to detail elevates this to an art form, no longer just a train layout, it is an expression.
Colorado O Scale Modelers very own Ed Miller in the background at Gary Schrader's legendary railroad!!
I love this video, what's up with that yard lots of trains alright!!
That's not O gauge man, that's O scale

How are the trains powered with no 3rd rail?
2 rail o scale. You might not know it because 90% of o gaugers are in 3 rail.
Same way OO, HO, G, N, Z, T, F, S, get power. Sorry I forgot TT.
Through the rails.
