I think that takes care of all the Light Mechs (except the hero Mechs), and there's only a few medium Mechs yet... which I'm still searching for. This change in scenery ought to do the trick though...
Yeah, I keep wanting to do a Beachhead because I'm always going out of my way to not play them which is kind of getting inconvenient. I believe I will do one on the next Hero Mech episode because I don't want to do it on the normal 2 Mech showcase because I want to talk about the beachhead... but I also want to talk about the Mech's performance, and I always want to talk about the Mech's history. If I do it in a Hero Mech episode, I can have 2 free beachhead missions where I can use a Mech we've already seen.
Love the series and a huge fan of the redesigns. Started using burneronis and sl instead of mediums in some mechs and i like it. Thank you and keep up with the awesomeness 👍
I like most of the weapons, but I try to use them where they can shine the best. Like, with medium laser, I either use them are the primary weapon with a huge laser battery like with the Hunchback-4P and its big 6 medium laser shoulder array, or I like to use them for their range if the Mech is a very close quarters Mech such as a Firestarter. I find that if you just throw a bunch of medium lasers onto a Mech as "filler" weapons, then you wind up with a Mech that burns up and overheats because I don't really consider the medium laser a "filler" weapon. It does require some heatsink support or a jousting playstyle. I think small lasers and flamers, on the other hand, can be mostly thrown onto a Mech and used carelessly as they're drastically more heat efficient. It's also funny if your entire lance has 2-4 flamers, and you wind up ganging up on Mechs and shutting them down permanently where they can never sink enough heat for the Mech to turn back on.
The Centurion is a extremely capable Mech I usually downgrade to an ac5 or a uac5 upgrade to a lrm 15 and up armor mine so she can stand a fight a bit. This is the frist I've heard of the wolf hound sounds interesting. Keep up the excellent work Fox learning so much
That Wolfhound feels to me like a mini Black Knight and yeah I figured it would get flamers, doesn´t make sense to stack so many lasers when you won´t even be able to shoot due to heat problems. The Centurion
Yeah, the Panther I think is a more sensible build as it understands the PPC gets hot and therefore doesn't overextend on its close range weapons. 4 medium lasers is already quite a bit of weaponry for a light Mech. The Jenner uses the same set of lasers and doesn't reach for that larger weapon.
For the Wolfhound, I swap the medium lasers with 4 Small Lasers or 2 small lasers, and 2 Medium lasers short burst. Keep the large laser for air sniping or mech parts. It is best for hit and run tactics. Centurion is my favourite in MWO. I use the shield arm to tank damage. Swap the AC10 with any UAC, and LRM10 with SRM 6. AC10 and LRM10 doesn't benefit it much in a fight because you find yourself brawling a lot and you are too slow to run away. In MW5 I prefer the L variant of Centurion.
yeess, yeeeeees, embrace the bbq!!!!! Cooking & Roasting is a skill! I usually switch to ac5 bf for the increased cycle time and use the tonnage to beef up the armor, everything else stays the same except the 2 tons of lrm ammo, one of them has to be replaced by an heat sink. Also 17 back armor is a lot for me, i usually give 10 back armor to each mech i have, I spend more time face tanking enemies than jousting with them, so 10 armor is enough to keep me safe from those weird ambushes from behind. Wolfhound...no idea, i would probably go with 4 small pulse lasers and 1 chem large.
Most of my medium Mechs have about 15 to 18ish rear armor. I tend to pull armor off the legs, but I try to keep it no lower than 40, and I will pull armor off the head but no lower than 24. That said, I tend to dive into aggressive close combat. Even my long range designs, like the Dervish, maintain the option to dive into close combat.
The best version of the CN9 is the AH variant. It looses the booby lasers and brings an A/C-20 out. Same with the HBK-9G I wanna say. Looses some lasers for the bigger bore gun.
Oh, you prefer to start with the Free Rasalhague Republic? Is that because you want to start deeper in the timeline, past the discovery of the helm memory core?
@@GitGudFox it will be fun trust me most mechs like centurion will also be updated with new techs like lbx auto cannon and you will be able to find many new mechs that they added with the dlc new variant of flee locust yes they will be costly but they are alos fun to play
I like the 3rd Succession Wars period for technology level. Most of the games take place during and after the Clan Wars meaning all the Lostech stuff becomes like the common standard issue. To me, playing with the old stuff is more interesting. I will still build and refit more advanced Mechs, but I won't do that until we get to fairly high level missions, and I'll still do a standard tech refit for even assault Mechs at first.

The best heatsink in the game is "hold E to collect salvage"

I remember using the Wolfhound in MW4 Mercenaries in the Solaris 7 light circuit as my high performance light mech.

I should find another one and pair it with some trebuchets to relive its intended design.
My RP lance with friends are: CN9-A, CN9-L, TBT-7M, and JVN-10N. A balance team that is not OP for some Warzone stomping fun.

You're basically toast if the arm is destroyed though. All of the Centurion suffer from that issue.
The Centurion reminds mee of a certain machine that would say by your command
I used the wolfhound with
1 er large laser sb
4 small laser sb
I love this mech always my goto when i start with the free republic guys

I love the Centurion. My favorite medium mech.
Is the Centurion CN9-AL in the game? I would use it with a ppc and two srm4.
Yeah, the AL is in the game. I find it more commonly than the standard Centurion since I was spending so much time in deep Combine territory.
Curious what that 3rd mech was but I don't remember is there was one will have to re-watch :-)
Got'em!
Did you know that you can shut off automatic shutdown?
You mean the shut down override command? I typically don't use it in most MechWarrior games unless I'm in danger of getting blown up.
