Just seen these masks in the store and funnily enough they stake no claims on them of effectiveness and even mention that they, basically, won't work. Love it

You are being far too kind to Walmart in this video. I agree if a maker isn't doing the little things, they're most likely not doing the big things. What keeps me up at night is makers doing the little things right, but through supplier or manufacturing variation, putting out great looking masks that don't filter well.
I havent had any of these break on me actually, I actually tried to break them when throwing them away to make sure animals didnt choke on them and they wouldnt break it hurt my fingers. Odd... My box doesn't have the chart on the back though, its the same equate box though aside from that. Maybe i got some weird extra strong batch before they changed the box? Im grateful to have access to these at least, 96% is better than nothing if you cant get anything else. ( I can confirm they do smell like a laundry room at a comfort inn lol)
Always carry a few spares in case these break.
Better yet...... don't BUY these masks, because they are not good protection!!!
Hmmm. So why would a US manufacturer have a Chinese product certificate to accidentally place in their product box? Do you have other unopened Equate boxes to see if they have Chinese product certificates too?
I would not equate this with a mask worth buying.

For "people watching" when it is safe, yes. For buying many products, including this crappy mask, not so much!
Preferable to having nothing available or on hand, but Equate/Wmart should be able to do better...

I'm pretty sure that's not Walmart. Real Canadian Superstore (Loblaws) carries lots of Equate stuff. I always assumed it was someone's house brand, but I'm pretty sure it's not Walmart.
I just Googled it and it IS Walmart. It's their name on their generic products also.
