i love this show and this is my favorite episode. if only they would make show's like this again then i wouldn't mind watching through the other joy killing show's just for this.
Oh, smart move, Melissa. Break into a house. Let's add breaking an entering, vandalism, and attempted robbery along with your aunt telling you specifically not to go back into that house. She's headed straight for juvy, I swear.
It's so creepy when Susan shows her hands stuck together, and then they break off! *shivers* This is the episode I remember most from the show. It was always my favorite because it makes an innocent child's toy so creepy.
WTF.. everytime I am about to post, the FIRST post is always what I am thinking haha im 22 now and I would not go in that house after hearing a voice and a light on
You know watching these episodes years later I'm amazed children didn't rebel more. ROFL. so much breaking and entering and going against parents/guardians' wishes and whatnot.
especially the ones whose eyes roll in the back of their head when you la them down, and then open up when you pick them up. And than they say "Mooooomma!" Or the Chucky dolls. I had one and than after the movie came out, my mom got rid of it. lol
Melissa's aunt has one way of enforcing disipline, "Melissa, I disobey for you to ever go back to that house" *leaves keys in childs room*. Maybe that is foreshadowing why she doesn't have kids of her own...
I'm sorry, but their house is huge, how can they not have a spare room for her to sleep in instead of the sofa/couch? And why keep the keys right next to her when you know she'll probably go snooping again? So stupid! But I still love it. I remember it from when I was little. My mum has a doll, from when she was younger, just like the ones in the attic at the ending. It always reminded me of this, super creepy to look at...
this is the ep that sticks out most in my mind along with lonely girl and the one where the girl gets stuck in the painting. why cant kids have good tv shows like this anymore now they are all scared of thier own shadows because they only thing they can watch is Hannah Montana and other Disney crap
Spencers sell the movie version (you know, with all the cuts, stitches, and the knife in his hand)... but I had an original Good Guy aka Chucky! The one that was the innocent Chucky doll. Still, freaked me oooouuuutttt!!!!!
BREAKING AND ENTERING, thats a felony, who the hell doesnt have a security system on that house.....oh wait, they didnt have those in the good OL 90's.
i was scared of this episode not because of the talking dolls or the evil witch lady, but because of that door on the second story of the house that opens to the outside. WHY DID THEY PUT THAT DOOR THERE?
see a bright light in the abandoned house at night the best she can do is go investgate i mean id call the police or try to go back to bed or probably scream my head off
Okay... who here, as a child, wouldnt go into that house just to open a mystery door; let alone find your friend. Me... Id be quoteing alice through the looking glass the whole time. " A strange little door going nowhere? How curious!"
@amarie12187 Are you crazy melissa save susan at all those cost if anything I think susan's parent could careless about all that due to the fact melissa brought susan back to them
0:52 Oh, what the hell? I'm liking this ambient music. Lmao, but wow. I used to love this show. This is the only episode I remember though. It freaked me out the most. I do remember the AYAotD movie too. But the acting, my God, it's so corny and bad.
this was always my favorite AYAOTD episode.
I still think about it and I'm 22 years old!
You turned 34 this year!
After watching this episode on Nick all those years back, it was burnt into my memory.
i love this show and this is my favorite episode. if only they would make show's like this again then i wouldn't mind watching through the other joy killing show's just for this.
I want all these on DVD!! Now.
this is another one of my favorite episodes! I miss this show!!!!!
This show used to scare me so badly as a child! I remember this episode vividly though, it fascinated me the most.
It's like Resident Evil but with dolls. I loved this one. The only one I clearly remember as a child.
Susan is so adorable in this part.
I love the 90's, and I love this show. They don't make'em like this anymore.

This is such an amazingly good episode!
She is awful about closing doors behind her. She just opens it, walks in, and keeps going.
Like a boss.
I'm 25 and like you, still get a little freaked from this episode. Some of the stuff on that show will stay in my head forever.
You know watching these episodes years later I'm amazed children didn't rebel more. ROFL. so much breaking and entering and going against parents/guardians' wishes and whatnot.
Susan looks like The Phantom of the friggin Opera in that makeup!
This one really frightened me as a kid. I'm surprised not as many people have watched it...
especially the ones whose eyes roll in the back of their head when you la them down, and then open up when you pick them up. And than they say "Mooooomma!"
Or the Chucky dolls. I had one and than after the movie came out, my mom got rid of it. lol
The girl who plays Melissa also did Phoebe's voice on "The Magic School Bus".
i remember this episode
i loled when she turned back for the door and it was a wall.
nice job boarding up the door man that is some tight security
Love how she just breaks in all casual like. lol
She's actually pretty damn smart to think of that ball of string. I know I wouldn't have thought of that shit
Melissa's aunt has one way of enforcing disipline, "Melissa, I disobey for you to ever go back to that house" *leaves keys in childs room*. Maybe that is foreshadowing why she doesn't have kids of her own...

@6:48 perhaps the only GTS moment in the entire AYOTD series.
her acting gets better aas it goes along
Melissa is BRAVE and Smart!~
I like their house, it makes me want to move back to Canada. ):
Spencers sell the movie version (you know, with all the cuts, stitches, and the knife in his hand)...
but I had an original Good Guy aka Chucky!
The one that was the innocent Chucky doll.
Still, freaked me oooouuuutttt!!!!!

Remember kids, if a door is shut, hammers are your friend.
She should have used the hammer to knock out her aunt and uncle and used the twine to tie them up.
melissa sounds like the voice of Sherry Birkin in Resident Evil 2
should we all here sign a petition about bringing ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK back to Nickelodeon?
You've probably found it by now, but the first one sounds like "The Tale of the Vacant Lot."
....even if her eyebrows aren't even hahaha. I mean that is pretty tricky, I used to "draw" on my eyebrows waaaay back in the day.
5:03 wow she just breaks the friggin window. shes breaking and entering
wasn't there a story like this on goosebumps? A chilogy, or something like that?
Susan reminds me of Blossom from the Power Puff Girls...
of all ayaotd i watched tis 1 is the scariest i ever seen
@funkyprincess014 you mean a cable?
i was scared of this episode not because of the talking dolls or the evil witch lady, but because of that door on the second story of the house that opens to the outside. WHY DID THEY PUT THAT DOOR THERE?
the ep i was talking about was the take of the unfinished painting I found it but fr another poster
see a bright light in the abandoned house at night the best she can do is go investgate i mean id call the police or try to go back to bed or probably scream my head off
ahh im STILL creeped out by this show! haha!
i'm more afraid of uncle pete than the house.
Super strength out of nowhere in 3....2...1... 9:10
THE music is so 90s. ahahah
a house that big and they expect us to believe that they didn't have a spare bedroom for the girl? anyone else not buying that?
Even Stevens and Lizzie Maguire were Disney shows...
Okay... who here, as a child, wouldnt go into that house just to open a mystery door; let alone find your friend. Me... Id be quoteing alice through the looking glass the whole time. " A strange little door going nowhere? How curious!"

That girl can't act to save her life
@DavidS22003 how are these shows stale? this show has so much more dialoge and meaning and morals than the shit on today.

Id be way t scared to go in there ._.''
@letschillski LOL!!! too funny
that girl should have listened to the grown ups, otherwise she would have been out of trouble.
i know what ur talkin about, its called the tale of the chameleon
parents fault for leaving keys in easy reach and unsecured from child....
@DuracellEnergizer that's cool! thanks for the fun fact :)
I know she isn't the bad guy, but damn Susan looks creepy with that makeup on.
@amarie12187 Are you crazy melissa save susan at all those cost if anything I think susan's parent could careless about all that due to the fact melissa brought susan back to them

wow. Susan is very weak or just very stupid if she knew how to get out but never tried.
@hippieman124 For all we know Michael Jackson could have made that doll house...
most ppl would disagree completely. it used to be good and had funny shows like even stevens and lizzie mcguire.. now its about slutty children |:
Hey bitch, if you want help, stop shutting the window every time someone fucking looks.
