Hi Matt, great video, you didn't waste any time getting back out lol. Locker question, do you have any issues with the Elockers? Not engaging or disengaging on direction change. Why Elockers over air locker's ? Looking at some for my Prado Thanks
Sydney Mower And Automotive Centre , hi mate I believe their is a half rotation before the lockers engage.. I’ve even Heard if you roll back the lockers disengage and you need to drive forward to engage again... Would be good to do a show comparing lockers MadMatt. . Elockers, airlockers, autolockers. Probably info out there but enjoy Matt’s humour
They can disengage and it's about 1/3rd of a turn. I've never found it to be an issue offroad even when it does happen. Most of the time the cross axle wind up ensures they stay engaged between forwards and reverse. The E lockers are a strong design for the most part. So in essence i have no complaints with the elockers.
@@MadMatt4WD okay thanks for your actual used opinion. Would you recommend them over air ? Given your years of experience in the industry. I'll also Understand if you take the fence option.
As I already knew, you Aussies have some outstanding wheeling opportunities. It is a shame that you are not able to modify your suspensions with a lift though. THAT is one very good reason to be organized and have that organization lobby your lawmakers to change the laws to permit lifted suspensions. I know that I would be in heaven to be able to go into the outback with you.
@@MadMatt4WD Of that I have no doubts. I don't know your laws, so I probably can't be of much help, but if it would help, we can add United's name to the fight. If someone can fill me in on the details, I may have something to help.
The shorty cruiser was making a strange oily squeak in the front end I know this was a while ago but did u check everything was straight and not bent and did u check the cv wasn’t on its way out

Is wheeny creek a “legal” track I live at Camden And every track near me is “illegal” So if I want to go driving I’ve either got to drive to newnes or yalwal which are both over 2 hour drives for me
Looks fun! Although JKU’s aren’t my favourite, I have to admit they’re one of the best 4x4’s when it comes to balance and weight distribution. Most Toyotas like to roll ( cough...FJ...cough). Did you change to electric fan or is it oem? What’s your setup.
Agent. K. Nice to read a genuine comment about the JKU.. this one certainly out drives a lot of 4wds but it is heavily modified and on 37’s. Driver needs a few lessons though.
Hey Matt, great vid once again. When I first learnt to 4wd they mentioned putting the handbrake on a few notches to tighten up the drive train and make rock climbing a tad easier for manuals. Be interested if you could test the theory, I have used it, not to this scale of rocks and works nicely. Could be just an old wives tale...lol.. Keep up the good work...
Defiantly works. What it does is makes it harder for the diff to detect the different traction surfaces. I sometimes drive through the brakes which has the same effect.
Matt, does the Bunde use the same reduction box as the Hilux? if so have you thought of using a twin box setup. such as " Marlin crawler" here in the states. makes wheeling the stick on tough sections so much more easy. have a great week.
I haven’t looked into that. Partly the transfer is offset in the rear where hilux is centre. Second the front and rear tail shaft are the same length and to change this would be unhelpful.

In the LJ70, what was the original engine that you swapped with 3.8 v6?
The Lj70 signifies a diesel engine. the RJ70 is the Petrol mine was the petrol so the 22R 4 cylinder.

Nice job wheeling Matt. How did the TJ’s with the “little” tires handle those sections? Straps, ropes,or winches?
I was the smallest 4wd in the convoy. We winched a couple of times but mostly packed rocks. Straps are not that good in rock.
The green TJ was on 32s 😉
Jared Collins yeah but 4” lift.

Matt your steering wheel is on the wrong side!!!! Lmao

Bet it was good to get back put there. Why does the Bundi keep stalling? Is it the driver? Keep safe mate. Non Stick Nick
LOL. Manual life. I drive with low clutch slip so it's a compromise. I will convert to auto one day.
