    Your timing with the William Tell Overture was great.

      Ha ha! Thank you! I wish I could take all the credit for that, but it kind of just worked out that way - meaning: I was surprised and thought it was cool too.

    This model is no longer available at Clever Models. The new freebie is the Silver City tool shed and Haunted House in O scale along with a signal tower in HO and O scale. This video is 3 years old. When they offered the Taylor's General store I downloaded it and built it for my HO scale. I also downloaded another house in HO scale and built it. You did an excellent job on the Ice House especially cutting it out free handed. Now I'm beginning to do some O scale as I got enough Lionel 027 to start a layout. Cheers from eastern TN

      That is fantastic! It makes me feel like I'm giving back... because of all of the stuff I became aware of on RUclips. So glad it was helpful and thanks for the comment!

      Thanks! I really don't have room on my layout for the Ice House, so I was planning on using this on the Lodge Layout.

    That is a great tutorial. As You see in my trainroom we also are fans of cardboard modelling. But I have to adsmit, I can still learn something from "Straightedge"-Harris. And You are also wearing the wedding ring on the left hand, so do we, because we didn´t marry in Germany but in Barcelona, in the cript of Sagrada Familia when there still was no church above it, just the towers. Stay well, I have work to do....some downloading of an icehouse!

      Awesome! I'm always looking for modeling tips and ideas. That is very funny you mentioned the wedding ring - while looking at my hands during the video editing, I didn't know why my wedding ring kept catching my eye. I really thought (considering my international viewers), "Nobody will say anything about it - I think everyone wears a wedding ring on their left hand." Then I learned something from you 🤔😁

    Very cool thanks for the info that really looks fantastic it’s hard to believe it’s not a wooden laser model kit that costs a whole lot more for sure.

      You're very welcome! The model kits from "CleverModels" really turn out well. Your comment is exactly the reason why I like them so much. Thanks for the comment!

    Did your printer have a setting for "Cardstock" ? I have an Epson ET-3710 and not sure what setting to use to print on the thicker paper. There is not setting for Cardstock or anything.
    Wondering what settings you used or if the paper had a problem in the printer.
    Thanks, nice job !

    • @BrentsTrains
      @BrentsTrains  3 года назад +2

      No. There isn't a different setting for the card stock on my printer. I print on the "normal" print setting & the thicker paper works fine. I was worried about that too when I first tried it, but it's fine. Thank you.

      I'm sorry I didn't see your comment. Clevermodels.net is the best place I've found for these types of model buildings. Contact them (or maybe you already have) and see if they can make this particular model available to you because I don't see it as a "for sale" kit on their website.
      If you like building these types of printed models - be sure to periodically check their website for the current "Freebie." I've got more than half a dozen different buildings as freebies from clevermodels.net

    May I ask what weight paper you're printing on? You do not glue the patter onto thicker cardstock?

    • @BrentsTrains
      @BrentsTrains  3 года назад

      I print on 110 lb card stock from Staples. If I'm doing a building that I'm putting lights inside, I'll glue the printed paper onto cheap foam board (so light won't shine through the walls)

    • @owenauer3406
      @owenauer3406 3 года назад

      @@BrentsTrains How stiff is the paper, does it remain flat?

    • @BrentsTrains
      @BrentsTrains  3 года назад

      @@owenauer3406 I think you're asking "does it get wavy when gluing two flat pieces together?"
      When I glue the card stock to foam board (or another piece of card stock), I use spray adhesive or rubber cement to prevent it from getting wavy. Regular white glue will warp card stock and even warp foam board if you glue too much at once.
      Hope that's helpful!

    What printer do you use or suggest?
