    I’m happy to watch another update of your beautiful garden. It’s amazing to see the changes in your plants over time. I love watching my garden grow a little each day, that is my favorite part of gardening. It’s so fun to have the growth documented over the season to look back at and see your progress. I love that about being a garden RUclipsr. Let’s learn & grow more together!

    Just magnificent - for us tree huggers, it would be even better if you could narrate the varieties of plants/shrubs that you are demonstrating, so that we could actually try these ourselves, especially if some of these were native to our regions!

    Hello. I am very impressed. Lovely.
    How do you keep your azaleas healthy? Do you spray something, to prevent desase? Do use insecticide, sometimes?

    • @OurJapaneseGardenEscape

      Thank you so much! I plant azaleas in organic peat free rhododendron soil and fertilize in spring with organic slow-release fertilizer - that's all. After the blossom I clean off the dried flowers and prune if they are too large. I do not use any synthetic sprays or similar in the garden at all. We have, however, an acidic soil pH of around 5 in the garden :)

    Do your Rhododendron and azaleas have fragrances, respectively, which ones have a nice scent / smell?

    • @OurJapaneseGardenEscape
      @OurJapaneseGardenEscape  2 года назад

      You would think when looking at the blossom right? I keep smelling them every year, but no, most of them do not. The ones with a very light sweet scent are the white deciduous azaleas (start of the video) and the white evergreen azaleas ('snow white' cultivar) next to the dwarf lilac. I would not plant them for the scent though, because it is just way too weak.

      If you want a scented one I can recommend a variety called Weston's Innocence.
