Hey Jim! It's an anthem for a sporting event called PSL Pakistan Super League, BTW the sport is called Cricket. A shorter format of the game with players coming from all corners of the world! This anthem is for one of the league's team " Peshawar Zalmi". The Word Zalmi is a Pashto language word that means "Youth".
Another Zalmi song is "kingdom" . It is in English so you can enjoy it more. It is an amazing song!
The Lead guitarist in the band is Xulfi who is the director of Coke studio season 14
1. The sports is cricket -- the second-biggest sport in the world, just behind football. Fun fact: Pakistan just reached (but lost) the World Cup Finals earlier this week.
2. The song is actually a cricket team anthem (the team's name is Peshawar Zalmi, a domestic cricket team in Pakistan), created specifically for the domestic champions league 2018 Edition.
3. It feels like a battle cry because it was released before the cricket tournament/champions league began.
4. Almost every team had a pretty badass anthem. Peshawar Zalmi also had another song (in another year) that featured Abdullah Siddique (Go; Coke Studio) and Altamash Sever (Sweet Child O'Mine; Nescafe). The lead singer of Call is Junaid Khan. He's super expressive! He's now an actor, plays the lead roles in tv dramas.
For me this is the besssttt "zalmi" song so far. The essence of KpK(province that the team represents) Nothing matches its energy and music. Thankyouuu for reacting to this❤

Hey Jim, checkout EP. Their debut and the only album Irtiqa came out in early 2000s but it certainly was ground breaking. This band gave birth to the next breed of Pakistani rock musicians. The recent underground rock acts are Karakoram and Takatak [kinda Djenty/Metalcore]. You will find them all on Spotify
You will like "GROOVE MERA " as it has the same musicians as Coke studio season 14. There is xulfi, young stunners , aima baig and Naseebo Lal.

This song is an anthem for "Peshawar Zalmi" which is a Pakistani professional cricket franchise. They play in the Pakistan Super League, an annual cricket tournament. This league PSL is Pakistan's biggest cricket tournament where players from around the globe participate in. Zalmi won PSL trophy in 2017. You should react to Kingdom anthem of this same franchise.
