- Why is there so many abandoned farm cottage's in the Peak District? remote farm houses that are no longer occupied for some unknown reason. I investigate and take a look further.
If anyone does know the answer to these houses, please let me know in the comments!

Possibly probate, family died, and has no one to leave the property too, so they lay empty, which is very sad, as they could be amazing houses but then who would want to live there? There is no farming is there anymore. so sad. can you imagine being lost in there no one would find you. watch out there is a sheep behind you lol. if there is sheep someone must be caring for them. I wonder what the stories are. for years someone a family has been there what was their story. Heathcliffe where are you? the hinges look fairly new. i am sure local people will know who they belong too, you can i think find out from land registry. what a waste really would make a great resting station for people who do the mountain climbs.
SOMEONE LIVED THERE. the sheep means someone is around. you could leave a letter put it in plastic to stop it getting wet i bet you get contacted. land registry. my daughter and grandson live off grid, they love it. no bills to pay lol. pop to local estates they will have some for sale, you can find out the history from them. YOUR SO LUCKY living there what a stunning place to live.

You can only rear animal farming there. There is so much EU red tape being an animal Farmer the game is not worth the candle, and the costs on endless certificates and the like as well as the time make small scale animal Farming totally uneconomic unless you have a private income and do hobby farming.
