Very interesting to see how other countries build their "cheap" houses. The first concrete layer would pass for our foundations - NZ. I hope no dead birds are going down the spouting into the under-house water holding tank ;)

Con todo ese material que usaron solo para los cimientos acá en México se levantan todos los muros y cimientos ya faltaría la loza se me hace mucho material y muy caro ,pero en fin respeto las costumbres!
Acá se levantan primero los muros de tabique y después se cuelan los castillos para que amarren mucho mejor las paredes y no se agrieten con los sismos ...

I love Vietnamese architecture so much, I plan on retiring there one day and building a home there. However I can't get over how flimsy those lintels look. I am sure that its fine because obviously a lot of houses are built the same way and are fine, but that just doesn't look like enough support for me lol!

We built a house in S. America where a dollar US was worth around 1200 thier dollars . They worked for 1000 thier dollars a day. In this way it was a cheap house. Now a lot of materials were shipped in they did cost a bit but not as much as in the USA. so the house didnt cost the people that we built it for a lot. He made his money in the us retired in s. America. Got tired of living thier and sold the house. He made money on it but not as much as he thought he should. He got what it cost to build the house there plus the amount thier money made in the market 5 years after he built the house. I cant say it was a cheap house but was cheaper because of world unrest and economics. If he waited 20 years . He would have made a whole lot on the house.
It was cheap because of the way money markets and labor laws worked. But for no other reason. Is that why this is called that.
Remember house in vn now expensive,labor around 30 US dollars a day, what u think?

My apartment building in South America is built like this only my columns are 4 times as thick . Cement is cheaper there and Labor was $300. dollars per week for 10 guys , 10 hours a day, 6 days a week . that's 30 bucks each . My mother in law bitched the whole time for paying so much , and bitched that I bought soda for them to drink on lunch break .

My first question is, is this house self-built? So the owners build it themselves, or did you pay the technicians to build the house for you? If you paid, they cheated you
Secondly, why cheated, because the concrete columns are not tied to the horizontal ones at all, they were just inserted so easily. That means in an earthquake, not a big 3-4R, the whole house collapses
Thirdly, you are building with bricks, why didn't you build the inside turn with the outside turn together, i.e. connect a brick to the outside turn, instead of this you built the outside turn and then just glued the inside turn on when someone kicks you the whole wall falls over, ok maybe not one but three foot kicks
A good construction method is to put a horizontal concrete tie in the middle and connect it all around at the top with the columns. Connecting doesn't mean simply putting the horizontal iron in the box, but rather connecting it firmly to the column, so bend the horizontal one up and tie it to the column
Vietnam hardly has any earthquakes.
