People need to stop spreading info making it seem as if that you can only get injured or die on liter bikes or big cruisers. You can get hurt on any bike if you don't know what you're doing or respecting it. You have to buy the bike that's best for you. You know your maturity level and experience best. I know several people, male and female, whose first bikes were large cruisers or 600CC+ sports bikes and they had no issues. I've also seen people get seriously injured on scooters and low CC bikes. Buy the bike YOU want.

I ride my 50th anniversary Busa:
As an 50 year old. If I were young I would’ve gotten the Yammie R1 to impress To cruise around on primarily. Not to commute. I would’ve bought a Yammie R7 or MT-07 for that.
    Only on nice weather days.
Never highway roads. You wanna ruin that new finish on your bikes fairings. Highway debris at 70 mph is a good way to do it. OEM fairings on all current bikes now are EXPENSIVE.
50th Anniversary Busa fairings are FERRARI expensive.
    Through backcountry roads and neighborhoods.
Neighborhoods are good for practicing maneuver skills that I take for granted in a car. Especially with a heavier bike. I can imagine different scenarios. Including emergency braking in puddles of water, engine braking down steep hills instead of the front brakes.
Never downtown city streets, only on weekend mornings before 9 am. It’s too risky. Birmingham, AL like L.A. freeways is full of stupid drivers in a hurry to get anywhere.
I park my Busa in the house as a showcase. When people see it, Orange and Black with the 50th anniversary emblem on it they understand. Can’t stop smiling about it.
My future plan is riding this bike on the track of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum.

Down here (Brazil) I was planning to move into another state, here, any bike will get you killed. Besides the bad drivers, and the awful smooth Mars surface asphalt, really, they will simply kill you to steal your bike.
But yesterday I saw a video explaining that an MT03 could be even worst then the MT07!
07 is a true Master of Torque - 03 it wold be a master of Power. The engine derives more the racing bikes then the torque ones. It has a little more power in a small engine, matching the MT07!

    • @jeanmtiger

In the UK if you are 24+ you can ride any cc after passing your test. Younger riders can hold a full licence (21) but you need to have held a lower class licence restricting you to 47 BHP for 2 years. The aim is to restrict power until you are mature enough to control it. Ironically, a 19 year can ride a Busa, but it has to be restricted to 47 BHP. Not many youngsters are going to ride a restricted Sportsbike. I passed my test in my 40s I rode a CBR1000RR and then onto a ZZR1400 I respected their power and restricted the use of the throttle whilst getting used to riding larger machines. Incidentally, the Hayabusa and ZZR1400 are very safe motorcycles. Personally, i find larger bikes are easier to ride due to their longer wheelbase.

I don't like a heavy wide bike. I like sporty slim naked bikes that I can park anywhere I want. Someday I will get it, but for meow my little cb500f is holding me down till I can get my dream bike. Best motorcycle 🏍 to start on is hands down the Kawasaki Ninja 400 or Z400. It has enough power you won't get bored riding it after just a few months and you'll be able to stick with it longer. You'll build a solid foundation for riding and be well capable of handling a more powerful bike. Bonus is the Ninja 400 or Z400 will hold it's resale value.

The Ninja 400 or Z400 is the gold standard for noobs. They are great for everybody, even seasoned riders. The MT-03 is a cool little bike too. There are a lot of cool small bikes to choose from these days. I started on a mt07 after the msf but honestly it’s just because of the price. Paid less than if i went with a ninja 400. My experience has been great though, I started off just short shifting and riding around the neighborhood for days. I also think it’s important to mention i passed the msf with a perfect score and the mt-07 still scared the absolute horse💩 out of me for a long time 😂. If I could do it again I’d probably just get an r3, there’s no reason for a beginner to have the low end torque.
