I had one when I was about 12. no motor, head light or tail light. I mounted a briggs horizontal shaft engine 3hp made a clutch to tighten up the belt. I think it would get up 30 to 35 miles an hour. Fun for me! My cousin ended up with. It got burned up in a house fire.
Mine was Kawasaki KD125. Your DT100 was faster than my Honda 75. Finally beat you when I got the Kawasaki. I remember that chainsaw engine running backwards.
When in high school in the mid 60s, a schoolmate had a simplex. It was a good runner. I've always liked the looks of the Simplex. I guess it's called classic good looks.
Wow, great job on the Simplex automatic! I’ve been a Simplex fan for about 10 yrs now. I love everything about them! The design is just beyond cool! Maybe one day I’ll find me one!
@ 16:41, I see you have one of those mis-printed Allis tin signs. Mine is a screw up anyway, and thousands of others are too, when they have a picture of a UC Allis, and call it a WC 🤣 I have owned near a dozen old Allis tractors. Down to 4 now, and plan to sell the WD45 next year. I would watch a video of finishing up the Simplex. I have a Whizzer up in the attic of my shop that I started tearing down in about 1990. I got frustrated when I couldn't get the steel lifters out pf the aluminum block It's an odd one, that never had pedals to make it go. My brother had it back in the 60's and quit messing with it because the belt wouldn't stay on the back wheel. It's been a 'someday' project, knida like my 1948 M5 Studebaker pick up.
Yes it’s a misprint, we had a uc on the farm when I was a kid, we had frame rails. I’ve pointed that out to others when I encounter that sign and many have no idea
Nice bike. Would be a nice cruiser
@@feraltweed thanks for watching
Colton asked me earlier if you would remember that, I said idk I might have taken it back off before anyone found out what I’d done. Lol

@@keithnielsen1174 thanks for watching! Those original motors are pretty weak. A Briggs would have been more durable, bet ya had a good time
