How do you pass your tree to family without them paying for Ancestry membership? I paid for one year membership but there after will the 24000 ancestors I found disappear for grandchildren and beyond. Made printed 5 generation charts for all, but a 10+ chart would be unwieldy +all the documents .
This has changed now - it doesn't say "share" it says "invite" and then has a link you can copy but how do you send the link ? Thats what I cannot figure out - do you just copy and paste it ? TY :)
To share a tree go to tree settings, pick the tree to share (if you have more than one), at the top go to Invitations, + Invite people (upper right), select the role, create a link, and email it to them.
They need to make you an editor or an admin. However, if you are not paying for the account, you won't be able to access some of the records, only the tree.
I've just tried sharing my tree; unfortunately, the person who received the link as a guest was prompted to sign up to see the tree. Is there a way around this so that people receiving the link can see the tree without having to sign up?
Yes they can sign up for a free guest account, but they won't be able to access all the records (some yes, others no) and they can see your tree. You will likely need to send them a link again. support.ancestry.com/s/article/Free-Registered-Guest-Accounts?language=en_US

Ancestry seems to be updated and doesn't show the SHARE button any longer. How do you do this now ?
They change the name from share to Invite. It is still in the upper right corner.
My family added me as a collaborator, but I can't edit or add anything. Do I need to be a paying member to be able to do this?

From the tree view click invite.
When I send the invite out it goes to show me that does not have an ancestry and it wants them to sign in

In your match list, just click on their name and message them.
How do I send a section of my tree? I want to send my Father's line to somebody, but not my Mother's.
The only way I know how to do it is with Family Tree Maker software.
