I bought this game for 2 reasons. The lead director worked on Gravity Rush and IGN giving it a 5 so I knew this game was gonna F***. I love that this game exist! Update: Got the physical copy for PS5 and had no idea it was going to include an Art book, Soundtrack on a CD, Stickers, Poster in an all inclusive box for no extra cost! That is how you do a physical release 👏. Played 2 hours so far and love it!
Yep. A great way to tell if a game is good or at least free of identity politics: IGN gives it a low score. I am also excited to play Mario Brothers for the excat same reason!
lol my guy said “gravity rush” gtfoh, nothing about siren or silent hill. wtf are u even doing with ur life. Unfortunately ur opinions are trash & completely irrelevant. Stop talking, thanks.
Excellent review and first thoughts. It is insanely unique!!! I'm in the same boat with this. Watched a preview maybe a year ago. With it's pedigree I felt this pickup was a no brainer. I'm happy as hell to have been in Slitterheads universe!
At first, I was disappointed to see that several reviewers criticized this game and didn’t recommend it. However, it’s refreshing to come across a reviewer who takes a more positive approach, evaluating the game from a perspective beyond "It’s not polished enough." Not every game needs to have God of War-level visuals to be enjoyable. It’s odd how the Yakuza series consistently receives praise despite its simple graphics and clunky mechanics, yet this game doesn’t get the same fair treatment from reviewers.
I loved Gravity Rush 2 back in the day, and so when u heard the same guy was working on this game, that got me interested. I loved thw premise of the game, which reminds me of the anime Parasyte. The whole aesthetic has a slight manga influence to it, and the setting of 1990s British Hong Kong is a interesting choice, and is a less obvious choice than a place like Tokyo.
bro, I just finished the game, and it has lots of Parasyte vibes, also they did a crazy job on recreating the real life Kowloon walled city, its prob the most unique game I've played in the last 5-7 years or so... (loved both Gravity Rush), this game has a lot os Siren and og Silent Hill games vibes mixed in too.
I'm absolutely loving this game thus far! First of I really like the graphics and world bulding. It feels like a really grimy, realistic and dark world. And I'm also really enjoying the story and the presentation. Next I have to mention the music and sound. Top-notch all around and really adds to the immersion. And the gameplay is much more complex than I thought. It has a souls-like feel with some more action elements. And I really like how they do the parry mechanic. And the rarities are fun to play with. Overall I'm loving it and I'm glad it exists. It's been the perfect pallate cleanser after the amazing Metaphor Refantazio! So far an 8.5/10. Support original, indie devs! It's only 45 bucks!
Great video. Can’t wait to play this. All of the bad reviews I’ve seen have been from mainstream gaming outlets which is no surprise, but basically every review outside of that says it’s great, which I’m glad to hear. Should have it in the mail by Monday 👏👏
If they make a Slitterhead 2 I hope it’s open world, same framework for gameplay but better follow on the characters, Ive noticed the party doesn’t run together or stay close when possible. If that’s a better way to explain it? If that, it’s 10/10 as it is I would say 8/10 for me.
I'm going to pick this up on Friday it looks extremely good. It just looks different. I highly suggest picking up shadows of the Damned hella remastered that was an absolute gem on the 360. It is cheesy and corny and pretty much over the top but it's really good
Great game impression video! I just received my copy. Amazon delayed my order, thus receiving it a few days later. Anyway, the game feels like it’a PS3 game released in 2024. The jankiness feels more like a quirk, instead of a disadvantage. If you like Japanese action horror games, this may be for you.
Game is amazing bottom line from top to bottom. All iy is missing is some polish which actually adds to the charm been pkaying it a few hours everyday for the last three days still just enjoying the story then eill go back and 100% everything. First time I did that for a long time! Also went back to Japan amazon and ordered another Maniac addition with glow in the dark pin to keep sealed. The last death mark collectors edition is already worth ten times more than what it originally cost!
Looking forward to this, I'm a fan of games like Ghostwire:Tokyo (not sure if you have played that )..so anything original and different and slightly niche I'm all in. Great review mate👍
Agree with the high praise. Super unique & gritty world to exist in. Very atmospheric. Just playing an hour or so at a time as I’ve got to many games to play 😂. Waiting for my ps5 pro to play certain games on . Just discovered this channel and subscribed, like this guys honest and frank approach .
I subbed. This review is great, and I cannot stop playing or thinking about Slitterhead. I'm playing it on Nightmare, and it is ruining my life in the best and worst way. Can you please, though. Can you tell me what is the filing system you use for your gaming shelf? It's not alphabetical, so what's the philosophy? I can't find a pattern.
Slitterhead is definitely testing my resolve. I love the unique take, interesting characters, and story, but some game choices just makes me want to quit. For example, I was forced to find more characters and ended up doing a segment 10 times just because I didn’t do it the way it wanted me to so that I unlocked the character spawn point. While not technically a long segment, it was sooo boring and slow. Parrying in this game is also not registering in my brain. I just can’t do it. Also, most of the time when I switch NPCs, the slitterheads automatically know and start attacking me before I can move, even when I switch to across the room.
I'm glad everyone seems to be enjoying the game but I gotta be honest I kinda hated it and I'm extremely disappointed lol. Before anyone throws some stuff at me about not being able to play jank I wanna state I played my first Kings Field game (2 jp) last year and loved it so I can guarantee it's not that. With that said it was a really unique and interesting game and I hope the team can improve upon what's here for their next project
I feel bad that this game will likely fail and so will originality. We'll eventually get nothing but bland copy-paste 3rd person safe open world games.
I have ps4 pro and they released a port of this on ps4and have the ps4 pro enhanced tag. I haven't seen the performance of the game yet on a ps4 or the pro on youtube yet. Is anyone doing that?
I'm about 8 hours into slitterhead and I do like it... but I really wanted to love this gsme... and the main thing keeping me from loving this game is the fact that there's basically no voice acting... the first few missions it stops you every 30 seconds to show you tutorial messages and it KEEP SHOWING YOU THE SAME TUTORIAL MESSAGE MULTIPLE TIMES... but even after that it just keeps stopping you in the middle of missions atleast 5-10 times forcing you to read dialogue... it's 2024, get some fucking voice actors... I understand this game didn't have a 200 million dollar budget but come the fuck on....... seriously this is the one thing keeping me from loving this game, its just constantly stopping you from progressing so you can READ dialogue
Yeah, I haven't seen one glowing review whatsoever. Which has me really skeptical about picking this up. The only places it's getting good scores at are on the PS and Xbox storefronts...
Thank you! Finally, someone who appreciates this game. I played it for five hours straight today, which is rare for me to do with any game.
Can’t wait to get my hands on it

IGN 🤮🤢😅

These are not my types of games (to play) but I love to hear about them, so your channel is really cool for people like me. thanks!

Was thinking that. Definitely looks like it was influenced or inspired by Parasyte

Loved your review and loved this game to the bone!
The main story bossfights...I still remember the cut-scenes. Pure Junji Ito horror extravaganza!
Surprised there's no mention of inspiration from Parasyte (anime/manga). First thing that came to mind, as far as some of the enemies go.

I am so happy I found your channel during Silent Hill 2 review. I can't wait to go home and get this game. 45 dollars on steam.
Let me know what you think of it! I'm curious if most people will like it as much as I am
Got my physical day one edition coming from Amazon on Monday! Can't wait!

Great review mate👍
I had fun with this game, just beat it last night. Hopefully they get a chance to make another one and fix the few flaws it had.
Agree with the high praise.

Im having a great time with it. Game definititely isnt for everyone but theres lots to enjoy. Ive put 20 hours in already.
Its unique, its fresh compared to what we have these days, and most of all its fun.

Great job! Subbed.
The game is $49.99 on the Xbox/PS store. The physical is $59.99, what are you talking about?
Thanks for the review
Keen to buy it now
Subbed.
Dude how do you perform that animation at the beginning? I've unlocked the skill but every time I lose an arm and press the button nothing happens
I'll be buying this tomorrow! Can't fucking wait

He said this is not a AAA title? It sure looks like a AAA if it was released in the last generation console
I'll rent it, cos you can still rent games in 2024. just thought I'd let you know.
This is literally (UNOFFICIAL)Parasite the Game!!!
hihihi, I like your room with all the Stephen King books.. dedicated guy,
"Slitterhead" sounds like it could be a slur used in another country. 😂
I feel bad that this game will likely fail and so will originality. We'll eventually get nothing but bland copy-paste 3rd person safe open world games.
I have to play this.
Subbed bruh, btw tho, the spirit entity is a girl, not a dude. So, there’s that.
"Genre" has a soft j sound, like the j in Jacques.
I have ps4 pro and they released a port of this on ps4and have the ps4 pro enhanced tag. I haven't seen the performance of the game yet on a ps4 or the pro on youtube yet. Is anyone doing that?
looks like ghostwire JOKEyo
Can you do a review on my favorite game Hunt Showdown 👀
I want to support them but reviews are very mixed and the game is too expensive for what it is.
I paid $45 for it on the PS Store and it’s been more than worth it. Game is great!

nah ... i'm good, the horror element is just aestethic
it's so good especially if you want something new and fresh
I’m seeing negative reviews or mid ones , but I’m sure this game will join the hidden gem category
Yeah, I haven't seen one glowing review whatsoever. Which has me really skeptical about picking this up. The only places it's getting good scores at are on the PS and Xbox storefronts...
Gamers Of A Certain Age™️ were all desperate for this game to be amazing. some of them still are. these days i don’t even want to know why
