Agreed, the Ogust convention has it's time and place since it allows the Weak 2 opener to generally show an assortment of opener hands including bad/good preempt suit and weak/strong hand after responder bids 2 Notrump to ask for one of four responses. Many believe that this method is superior when opener preempts with a lousy suit, although even playing standard methods opener can usually reassess whether or now to show an outside Ace or King based on the quality of the preemptive trump suit. Bottom line, I'm fine with partner playing standard methods or Ogust convention after 2x - 2N; ?
