- Loving this Gretsch double jet I got a few weeks ago. I wasn't thinking "twinkly finger picking" when I bought it, but I think it holds up here! This is an absolute peach of a guitar part from the opener to "Carrie & Lowell".
This is the best cover I've heard of one of my favorite songs. Thank you for putting this out into the world. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Really beautiful swells at the start my guy, is that standard tuning? I worked the song out on guitar but it was difficult to play and in a very weird tuning

Haha OK I will try. You are doing an alternate thumb picking for the bass. Then you are doing ring, middle, pointer(e, b, g strings) starting just before the 1 and 3 beat... looks like this

I can't remember exactly what I did for the intro, but it was mostly just playing around those shapes.
how did you do that at the begginjng
I'm not really sure if what he is doing is this, but it seems that he has a pedal with which he modulates the volume, this way he can lower the volume so that the initial strumming is not heard and raise it only when the sound is already playing. I don't know if you're referring to that.
What effect pedals did you use?
The intro swells were with a Walrus Audio Slo. Other than that I think it was just reverb?
