Tax on deposits is ridiculous. Banks deduct 10% as tax from deposits when interest exceeds 40k in a year. This 10% could have been compounded but government want this amount every quarter which resulted into much lesser returns on deposits. Not many people are aware that deposits calculator does not factor this. Thats why the final maturity amount is always lesser.

I agree with you... its is just a manipulative actiivity by govt... instead of curbing sudden spikes and providing knowledgeful content... they are just promoting profits to wealthiest since all the tweaks will directly impact small traders... and not the big ones... govt role should not be stopping people to think... rather promoting them with good knowledge.
