I love both so much! I like the vocals better in the OG, but the instrumentals in this are insane. I wish it were a bit more intense, like the OG, but it's still awesome. Combine the two together with this one's bridge, and perfect.

I talked to someone and they said it was most likely because this is the most radio-friendly song from self-titled. Also, it was downloadable on their site and titled "Air Catcher (STUDIO Version)". This track was recorded right before Regional at Best -- after the self-titled album had been released to the public.
This version of this song is beyond underrated. It's like Tyler is conducting an entire orchestra, and he went full voice in the bridge instead of the auto-tune in the original. I think that is biggest step up. His voice is incredible.
This version is so much better. With the violin, and bells, and everything else going on in the background, it's so much more enjoyable and interesting than the original.

air catcher has always been one of my favorite 21 pilots songs despite that horrible autotune in the bridge. even though i’ve been a fan on and off for nearly 3 years, this is the first time i’ve heard this version. i’m actually mad that they didnt go with this version. imagine how much better self-titled couldve been if they redid the songs to sound a little more like this😟 it wouldve gone from a 6/10 to a 9/10 absolutely
I *believe* it's a remake from 2012 or something like that. I don't really understand how the bridge 'ruins' it for so many people. I think the vocoder was pretty unique. But imagine a version of this with both the yelled bridge and the vocoder at the same time? Kinda like that new song- I think it's called Shy Away..?
