I’m so so sorry if my videos are playing midroll ads! 😭 I have no control over it right now but as soon as I can, I will be disabling them. I hate that this is happening. Please bear with me 💕

I just finished Tender is the Flesh and the entire time I was like ohhh now I understand why she almost didn’t review it. 😅 first book I’ve ever read that the ending had my jaw on the floor.

The end was just.. so horrible. I still think about it 😭😂

I love the isolated stormy setting as well, instantly ups the stakes and makes the book more thrilling in my opinion! I recently bought Dead of Winter on my kindle for 99p 😍 Penpal is such an unsettling story, I really want to reread it because I haven’t read it since 2020/2021 and I still think about it! You described exactly what it was like to read it for the first time! I really wasn’t a fan of Tender in the Flesh, I understand why people love it but for me I think I went into it with expectations that were to high because it’s so hyped up. I guess I expected more plot? That one scene you talked about also messed me up, I can’t stomach animal violence.
I love horror movies too but I don’t like things like Saw or Final Destination or I Spit on Your Grave because I just can’t take the gore and gratuitous violence. I enjoy things like Insidious and The Grudge, more supernatural things. I read The Summer I Died by Ryan C. Thomas last year and although I really liked it it was by far the most disturbing and messed up book I’ve ever read.
I love your videos so much, congrats on 1K! ❤❤

Thank you so much!! ❤️ Ahhh let me know what you think of dead of winter! Some of the characters made me roll my eyes but I loveddd it. I feel like I’m chasing the feeling that Penpal gave me now. Everything was just a slow reveal in that book and even after reading what happened I had to go back and read the last few pages again because there were so many subtle details that I didn’t catch at first and the author didn’t really focus on them, but they added another layer of devastation to the story. If that makes sense 😂

@@NeenerlandASMR that makes complete sense! That’s what I loved about it, it wasn’t an outright in your face horror book, it was subtle and slow building. The offhand way the author tells things almost adds to the punch and horror of it.
I feel like in every isolated who dunnit horror there is going to be some characters that are awful 😂

Hi! I recently found your channel and I really like it! I came across this video yesterday. It is really interesting to me that "Tender is the flesh" is considered horror in the USA, cause in Latin America (I'm from Uruguay, the author is from Argentina) is just a distopian novel, not horror or body horror. I found this really intriguing! Maybe is a cultural thing?

Thank you so much! That is interesting! It definitely *is* a dystopian novel but the horror elements way overshadow that in my opinion. Probably the most graphic book I’ve ever read. If someone went into it just thinking it’s a dystopian novel I think they’d be in for a huge shock. 😳

I Know What You Did Last Summer was actually originally a book and then it became movie in the 90’s. You might enjoy it, I liked a few of the author, Lois Duncan’s, thriller books

Me again! I’ve finished the book and I do think it’s worth finishing!!! There were some major twists at the end that I didn’t see coming. I rated it 4 stars!
