The first movie won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, the top prize. It was a big deal back then. People who say that it's the same reception as the first movie overlook how the movie debuted with so much praise and the rest of the mixed reception dropped when it got the wide release. I'm sorry but this one will have the 60-some tomatometer drop lower if you look at how reception patterns work. Not that it matters that much, make up your own mind. But this online narrative about the original movie having the same reception as Joker Got His Groove Back is not true.
Fun fact, Wizard Of Oz originally focused more on Dorothy's home life at the farm. Fleshing out the other farmhands stories before switching to the Oz parts. There were issues showing the color of the Emerald City, which actually just looked like that in the book because everyone wore green tinted glasses. Producers wanted to use a slightly different coloring, with more of a blueish-green tint. Movies with color still being fairly new at the time. The original production name at the time was of course The Wizard Of Oz, because it was based on a very popular book turned play, and what else would they have called it...
@@mirkecWii Don't see the "it's too violent" narrative happening again that became a marketing tool. This time round it's more that "it's not enough of a musical & not enough of Lady Gaga" that seems to be the consensus.
The difference is the first joker started higher, then dropped down to those numbers after release. Joker 2 is starting lower and will likely slide even further.
I remembered Bvs Also had this so called "applause and standing ovation" on it's early screening 😂 love Joker but not gonna take these standing ovations as grain of salt
Just hearing that a huge chunk of the movie is a court case with flashbacks to the events of the first movie is enough to dampen my enthusiasm
Loving James' commitment to calling this movie "How The Joker Got His Groove Back"
"Turd Sliders" was not the hit that fans of the original "Sliders" had hoped for.
It was shit.

Is it a lesser movie because there was no King of Comedy Deux or Taxi Driver 2: Drive Harder to rip off? 😂
Nailed it
The Batman 2 should be about the Court of Owls. It's the perfect fit for Battinson
That or scarecrow either way works perfectly
Couldn’t agree more. Fits perfectly with the story.
More like Folie a Don't!
Gottem
Hearing about the sheer amount of flashbacks and musical numbers has utterly deflated me 😭
You guys should do a tier list of the longest standing ovations
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that Todd Phillips directing oscar bait, knock-off super hero films is one of the signs of a coming apocalypse
You can’t spell ignorant without IGN.

This sounds worse than I expected it to be.
Joker 2 a movie for no one
I hope we get more superhero musicals, Hugh Jackman can definitely pull it off.
🎵Muh muh muh muh!
Muh muh muh joker face!🎶
😶😑
THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT…….. SOCIETY!
Yeah its probably bad
I mean the first one had "mixed" reviews, I really liked it so I dont care
@@mirkecWii 😬

The mixed reviews got me a bit more excited tbh I love a good polarizing movie
do you also love excessive flashbacks?
Basically has the same RT & MetaCritic scores as the first movie, Qn is will it come anywhere close to its $1.08bn box office?!
If the word of mouth is bad press because "its too violent" again, then yes and even more

that was WB executives but your point still stands
《Turd Sliders 2: Folie à Deux Deux》

I just wanna see it so I can come to my own conclusions about it. Nobody seems to want to do that anymore.
But...thats the opposite of why you would come here.
@@TheCronotrigger1212what? I listen to all weekly planet stuff. That doesn’t mean I come here to get my opinions.
