The one thing about the Camellya animation I immediately noticed and disliked was the wonky momentum of the swords when she’s fighting the final challenger. The swings just looked so unwieldy and lacking real momentum, almost like they were swinging whiffle ball bats at each other.
About Zzz Yanagi clip I think the problem with screen right to left but got that left to right part mostly because of how the sword is used in the first place. When fake Miyabi turn, it feel natural to turn right (right to left on screen) cause the sword is on right hand. Then when the fake one charged in, if shown right to left again as Dillon Goo wanted to, real Miyabi sword would be hidden and so does her arm cause the scabbard on the left was readying to be pulled out. Now if I really want to improve it, I think either flip that turn part for the fake as DG shown and risk logic in sword holding, make the fake turn left to start the left to right but that would make the spin a bit awkward, or continue to do right to left for the real Miyabi and risk hiding her sword and arm.
The confusing thing for me was that Miyabi should have attacked from behind the fake Miyabi considering the direction the fake one was facing and where the real Miyabi was.
I think you have problem with Miyabi moment because you overanalize things as animator, i didnt get any problem of what you was talking about at all, and even after you talk about it i still have 0 problem with direction. For me it was 100% fine and clear what was happen, so i was sitting and cant get why this is a problem.
