Couple of things I started to do 1) don't go to KS page very often 2) don't listen to people who get these games for free who then tell me how great these games are 3) I shop at used game events
@@GameBrigade this has become a hobby of collection in many ways even more than playing games, in some ways I am reminded of houses on my block who compete for having the most christmas decorations, that is how it seems with some of these KS games. Also with the cult of the new, so few of these really big and expensive games are talked about after 3 weeks because we are onto the next one: for example a lot of people went out and got Roll Player adventure for almost 150$, they posted about it for a few weeks and then it was that horror game Final Girl and then a few weeks later it was Merchants of the Dark road. I have found within 3 months of release almost all of these big games end up at the swap meet for sometimes 1/2 the price and often not even played.
Board game is becoming such an expensive hobby. If you are in Los Angeles area then hit me up. I have a whole warehouse full of games that need to be played. 😊
My mans bought all of Aeon's End just to make a video about it being a mistake! I'm jk, but I can understand how all that content is daunting. Luckily AE is an amazing game so you could have done it with a worse game. I would recommend keeping the game separated by wave (big box + small box expansions + promos). It makes it more accessible when you think about each wave discretely. Also, you can just play a single wave until you're comfortable with it and ignore the others until you're ready for more content.
I thinking 🤔 to buy AE but.. Im very impressed with card 🃏 game mechanism but Nemesis loika fir, me very boring and weak… so rhre is no really threat and Tension from Nemesis you just play same cards 🎴 and repeat 🔁 the process until you win… or maybe Im wrong?
All the small expansions can easily fit into any of the core boxes. But yeah you don't need all those boxes at all. 2 cores of AE and a bunch of the mini expansions slotted into either core box is heaps of content.
Marvel Champions, Lord of Rings are deck construction, you build it in advance of the game, not as an in game mechanic. You'll get a very very different flavor with Aeon's End.
It’s really cool to listen to your self-reflection over these episodes Brian! I’ve still avoided going all in so far but I’ve come super close… I know myself quite well in that I am fickle and chop and change games quite often, so I’d be worried about never getting through too much content. That being said I hope you do enjoy your Aeons End collection- I’ve heard it’s a stellar game 😎👍🏻
These are the Bryan videos that hit close to home for me.. Knowing at the time your brain is making a bad decision but seemingly unable to prevent yourself from making it. Aeon's End is particularly egregious case because for me, I really loved the Aeon's End Legacy game, but all this additional content is actually stuff i really don't want to have to deal with.. it's not just that it's not worth the extra costs, it's that I don't want the headache of trying to incorporate the extra content.
Only two I've done that with is zombicide black plauge (if you don't count digital content), and cthulhu death may die, although even then not used every boss on every scenerio.
I only go all in on games I have played and enjoyed. That way I know I will play it. A good example was Marvel United. I got the Corebox and loved it. Got the all-in pledge for the first season at a $100 premium and then went all in on second season after having playing the hell out of first season. The $100 premium is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, especially if it means I avoid 9-10 other all-in KSs. The Aftermarket isn’t all that bad and it does a good job of keeping you honest as to what you spend your money on. People just seem to be terrified of other people ripping them off even where they are happy for game companies to do the same.
Part of what's helped me is recognizing that I'm missing out by *not* playing games repeatedly. My FOMO is that if I keep getting All-Ins, I won't be able to try the stuff I have enough to get to the place where expansion content becomes relevant.
On the whole, I have avoided the All-in pledge, but that has not stopped me from purchasing so many games that I don’t have time to play. I think these purchases are my equivalent of going All-in without being mindful of reality. I have been slowly, and I mean slowly, getting control of this habit/pattern of thoughtless collecting, since the games are not getting played.
I very rarely go all in, in fact I very rarely back super massive games. Or the game needs to be all in with a storage solution like kingdom rush elemental uprising chest or recently 51st state ultimate. Marvel United X-Men:core+ 1 expansion. Wild assent: silvestrem pledge (and I already feel I overreached) Only game I went all in is Primal. But I do buy a lot of LCG lol
So agreed you shouldn't have gone all in, you could have bought the legacy of gravehold and just promos, then bought everything else through retail. That being said if you love deck builders, you're going to finish all this content its many people's favorite game let alone favorite deck builder. You're in for a treat.
Im watching this litterally an hour after buying the core game and every smaller expansion for it. I know it was a bad idea... yet here i am. In my defence, I play the mobile game a LOT, but im also an idiot
Of all series I would think Aeon's End is one you don't need to feel as much regret buying into. Each of the big boxes is self contained and the game plays pretty quickly. Its far less demending to get into than an lcg or campaign game. Just start with the base game and forget about everything else until the fancy strikes to add more.
I also backed Chronicles of Drunagor and Ankh... again, with CoD, I did the 169 bundle. I did not feel like I needed everything. And with Ankh, I just got the base game with SG's. Each expansion offered a KSE, but learning from past CMON KS's... I knew I wasn't going to touch them. So far I've played Ankh once..
I stopped going all in after 2-3 CMON all ins...realizing there were things I wasn't even touching. I still have Arcadia Quest characters sealed. Now I look for the value. I backed Marvel United at the pledge level where I got 2 expansions and the core box with SG's for $90. I almost always just get the game on KS to get the SG's..the only way they sometimes get me is if an expansion was KSE.. but even then I won't go all in. I guess the backer needs to make a few mistakes before they realize it's a marketing tactic.
I played Arkham Horror LCG and was immediately hooked. I've spent probably $1200 (give or take a couple hundred) getting everything for it. Upon reflection, my mistake was buying anything else since I got AH LCG. I've owned it for a year and it's been what we've played 95% of the time in that year, with no sign of slowing down.
@@GameBrigade I'm a big co-op player. I stumbled on your video because I just played Aeon's End for the first time. I'm glad I did watch it because it pulled me back from the edge. I do want to buy Aeon's End eventually but, as I said above, we haven't played anything except AH LCG for over a year. It's just incredibly good. And while I was playing Aeon's End, I was thinking, "This game is amazing." And it is. After a few more plays, I'm sure it'll sit comfortably in my top 10. But top 10 just isn't good enough when we are so thoroughly hooked on another game that we're not playing anything else.
My thing is that the KS campaign is usually exciting. Unlocking stretch goal, seeing sneak peaks, looking at all the KS exclusive content. I was so hyped by Freedom Five, Darkest Dungeon, and Primal to name a few. Once the campaign is over I usually find myself thinking the same thing as you. Am I even gonna enjoy the game and will I ever be able to play all of the content? I still want to play the games I've backed (for the most part) but I'm also annoyed that I fell for the same trap so many time.
Great video. Buyers regret is huge and is definitely being driven hard by Kickstarter style products. On one thing you said specifically - So I don't think the idea that people who got in at the start and have "had years to play it" is a good mentality. There is no reason that you need to buy anything else for Aeons ends. You have years of entertainment so... Play it.
I live in a tiny apartment, so I have space limits. Nemesis is the only mini heavy game that I went all in. I have definitely looked at reviews of expansions to see if they are worth it. I try to consolidate expansion content in the core box. I will leave written notes to highlight what is expansion content versus base game when setting up the game.
On the topic of when will you have the time to play all the content. Im a full time employee and student, me and my wife have made it a point to play every nemisis and sometimes twice. Yes your typical gamer won't play through all the content but as a fan i can tell you i definitely enjoy each wave of content with the exception of the classic legacy. To me that was a tutorial in a box
My last one was marvel zombies. I went all Lynn because I can paint them and I figure each character half notoriety, but that taught me that I can justify IP kickstarter exclusive all ins but that it’s really hard to justify all in for new games without any IP.
Lol I have this same collection and same realization. I've since started just going for core with maybe a couple add-ons. You get enough extra content with Stretch Goals generally
This was me with one of the Arcadia Quest kickstarters, as well as one for Xenoshyft. I made the same mistake on two games by the same publisher because both campaigns happened before either shipped. They both delivered in the sense that I got a bunch of plastic and cards in the mail, but man, did I get screwed by some lousy gameplay. I’ve learned my lesson. I don’t regret spending as much as I have on other games (generally bought outside of kickstarter), like Mage Knight or Kingdom Death: Monster, but the other day, I added the entirety of Cloudspire (like $550 total) to a cart. I didn’t quite plan on buying it, but I had done something similar for Too Many Bones and didn’t regret it. So I started reading some reviews and went from considering just getting the core set to just closing the tab altogether. Not much, but a big win for me. It helps that I genuinely don’t know where I would keep it at this point. 70 board games is plenty…
Great Video. I have also fell into the same trap. When I got into solo board gaming in 2014, I had a very small collection. About 10 - 12 Games. My collection has grown immensely in that time, and it becomes harder and harder to get rid of board games that I have lost interest in. My problem isn't so much the fear of missing out, it's how quickly I get bored with a game system. This leads me to buy alot of medium to high complexity games with long setup times that rarely hit the table (Mage Knight, Robinson Crusoe, Phantom Leader, Warfighter).
While I generally agree with your premise (and lord knows I'm guilty of always going all in), Aeon's End is one of the games I would recommend to anyone to go all in, so you shouldn't regret your purchase. It's the best deck builder out there IMHO, and each set doesn't really add any new rules to the way the game plays. The only real differences are with Legacy where you create a character and follow the story more closely and then you have some minor adjustments in the New Age with the expedition system. But the core gameplay stays the same throughout. That was one of the reason why me and my group were able to get through all the content thus far, because there weren't new rules to learn every time we wanted to play. I went all in with New Age (the KS just before this latest one) and I'm so glad I did.
Started going through the first core set and figuring out how to organize it. I think you're probably right, but I gotta go slow before I crack everything open.
@@GameBrigade Yeah I won't sugar coat it there. Organizing that much content is a beast. I remember When I first got into Legendary and had to organize like 10 expansions with no official storage solution being offered by upper deck. That was....well, time consuming to say the least.
interesting topic. I almost never going all in on the kickstarters with tons of content because i know im not going to play with it all. But with that said, its often hard to resist. Marvel United unfortunately got me ;)
Even base pledges sometimes arrive with so many extras that it's off putting to try and get it all to the table. I tend to only back base pledges and skip the crazy CMON esque games full of minis too much plastic and not enough game in most cases.
Great conversation! I have felt less inclined to back large all-in pledges this year knowing I have some on the way eventually. Games like Primal, Arydia, Lavon Rising will take up a lot of my gaming time, so I know I don’t want to add more to that queue.
@@nathanmartinez6639 unbreakable was a good value as it is. They added a ton to just it. I would watch some reviews and see if the game fits your style. It's an abstract battler.
I wish I still had all of mine. I had a house fire and I lost everything (not just games but EVERYTHING) I had already ordered all the new content from this KS, but if you want to get rid of it maybe we could work something out? Great video.
Great video man. This definitely resonates with me. The compulsive nature of backing Kickstarters and even buying into games in general, is difficult. Being honest with yourself should be a no-brainer. However, the marketing and psychological tactics deployed are rarely seen for what they are.
I have all the content, played all the content. Still play end game expedition mode solo, and with friends. I love this game. My only advice is take the time to organize all the cards for easy setup. Happy gaming!
I completely agree with everything you'd said. I have had a really bad habit of buying KS games (all-in) and never even touching the game once it arrives because it's so overwhelming.
I have been curious about this game for years and with the most recent Kickstarter dropping (Past and Future) I decided to cave... into ordering a single copy of the original through my store. I saw how much there was to this game and while I think I might be able to get through most of it over time, I was relieved to see I did not need to even be tempted by going all in since I can get much of the content through distributors. So for now I have one dollar pledged to Past and Future and if my friends like the game I'll pick up the promos in the Pledge Manager and order more of the game via my distributor. I have however fallen into the trap for a few other games. I did back all of the Arena content that has show up on KS over the years and now have that goliath on the way, so I am really going to have to flog that game to my Sunday dungeon crawler group and maybe my wargame friends. I also went all in on Bloodborne, which turned out to be unnecessary since I had a friend who ended up getting it as well and we just played through their copy. I can't complain too much about that fiasco since I kept the game in the box it was delivered in and flipped it for a profit. Lastly, the biggest one was convincing myself into going all in on Darkest Dungeon, which I really am still skeptical about being an experience I will get my money's worth out of despite being a big fan of the IP. Time will tell. Normally though, when I go all in these days, I have shopped the project around to friends, looked thoroughly at gameplay, and weighed it against other games in my collection, so my confidence level is high when I do. So far this has been a year of expansions for me and I have mostly stayed away from backing or buying any new games, but I decided after watching a bunch of gameplay and seeing I can get it conventionally, to get Aeon's End. I definitely could use a good co-op deck builder now that I got rid of Xenoshyft, Legendary Encounters games, and Arkham Horror LCG (sadly my group did not care for it), so I am looking forward to its arrival in a week or so.
For me Aeons End is my #1 game. I think a person neesds to give it a chance. The first time I didn't connect with it. But afterwards it became my #1 game. Also there are so many cards but you are never using them all. The cards and heros are all mixed and then choose for a game a limited amount you will use and this way each game is different./
I almost never go all in and it is 100% due to time. Well...time AND money I suppose, but if I had more time to play games I know I would be buying more as well. When I do go all in I find it best to do it in two parts, between the campaign and the PM. Waiting for the PM to upgrade my pledge usually lets me wait out the FOMO enough to come to my senses and take a realistic approach to whether I really want it all or not. Also, you just dipping down and hiding behind the boxes at the end cracked me up 🤣
Love aeons end. Play it every week. I started playing 3 months ago. I'm only on the second big box. The group i play with sucks. It takes us a month to beat one boss. So you are probably better than us and go through half a box in a night
@@GameBrigade i like mist in the base. And i also like Mazahaedron in war eternal. Hes like budda, he heal gravehold and buy other people cards they need. I haven't played any other big boxes yet.
Zombicide 1st ed. was my learning moment. I had so much expansion content that I never played. I ended up getting sick of the game and then never touching it. I really question if the Marvel zombicide is gonna fulfil the people who went all in.
I got all of marvel/X-men united and don’t regret it but I didn’t back marvel zombies because it’s still just zombicide. I may get the 2 core boxes (not the retail versions) but that’s it
worthy side note. The steam version of aeon's end with all the expansions is super cheap as it goes on steam sales all the time. That is really worthwhile. Physical copies i do somewhat agree more with you
Honestly the mistake here is getting the other deck building card games when you know this one is on the way. A Mistake everyone makes. I tend to go All-In when I see something as well, but If I see another game later that is like a game I have on its way I am more likely to pass on it. Like for example I got All-In of Edge of Darkness, then I saw Call of Killforth and was going to go All-In as well, then halfway through the campaign, I looked at the games I had coming and canceled my pledge because It looked really similar to Edge of Darkness. Now I'll be honest I don't always do that, but you got to try to look past the Fomo of everything.
I’m about to go all-in in Aeon’s End. I know it’s probably not the best decision, I watched the whole video, and I even agree with it… but yet, I still want to go all in to get everything…. Maybe it’s the FOMO, or my completionist OCD kicking in, or maybe it’s just because it’s fun, but I want to get everything….
Your video really resonates with me. It‘s all fun and excitement until it shows up at your doorstep and wants to be played instead of games you already love and have to little time to play. Especially if there are expansions that do not naturally integrate into the base game AND take a lot of physical space (with no proper way of storage). Currently, there is a bundle deal on the German version of Aeon‘s End for the first three waves (including expansions and promos) and I am rather hesitant. I currently think about just buying and trying the base game before getting anything else (or maybe skip entirely in order to avoid seeding any completionist urges). PS: My favorite deckbuilder is Imperium Classics/Legends - which is rather affordable and does not take a lot of space at all 🙂
Aeons End doesn’t add more mechanics/rules with the expansions. It’s just more to integrate in. Sure there’s the legacy stuff, but honestly you can just skip that and follow the guide to integrate it in.
I fall for this big time. Often it's because product won't be available for the time it can take me to get it to the table. And then I think: But what if I love this and it's gone? Fomo is real.
For me personally I think that it is more worth while to find a few games that really work with your group and to get more content for those games over getting wholly new games. Granted when it comes to Aeons End the primary thing you will get out of the new expansions is in large the nemeses. Sure there are loads of player cards as well, and new mages but I think in large people will gravitate towards a particular mage or two and find certain supply cards more desirable. Certain there is a notion of having too much of something when it comes to cards games, and I think Aeons End suffers from this with all its expansions. So I think it is something to be willing to acknowledge when buying things what specifically you are getting out of buying these expansions.
Unless the all in has everything I want, I’d go to the tier closest to what I want and just add whatever is missing. I can do without the playmats or the art books. I don’t really care much about the cosmetics unless they really add to the game play. I prefer my miniatures unpainted. For some reason, I love the original untainted looks of the unpainted miniatures. So I usually look over the contents of the all in pledges and see if there are anything that I don’t want. Sleeves are another thing as I can get standard good quality sleeves elsewhere, I don’t really want to get the expensive ones unless the card sizes are unconventional and unique.
I just got New age, which are the only 4 you need? So just Aeons End OG is one? And then just one legacy? What’s the 4th? And how do I choose between the legacy options?
I don't think they need any of the legacy games. They have been "ok". There is a new campaign right now that has some new mechanics that might be cool to check out.
"... all the small expansions can easily fit into the game ..." This is true for AE as well as for most other games you mentioned, where you justified your (other) ALL-INs. Sorry, but there are all FOMO too. There should only one situtation to allin (or buy more than Base game)... If you played the base game and realy know, that you will play thsi for years. (30+ times... not only 1-3 a year). But well, FOMO is the backbone of the KS industry.
Gone all in on so many in a short time now, and mainly all games with lots of models, however I'm starting to take up model painting, and my love of board games is second to that of D&D DMing, so whenever I see these all ins I think I may not play all the content.....but it will still find a use. Anyway that's how I justify it to myself haha. But anyway nice video topic :)
Damn. Was hoping this would help me not go all in on Too Many Bones & then you went & said it’s a good one to go all in haha great video though so true fomo sucks but there’s not enough time to play all the stuff constantly coming out
I spent a bunch of money trying to get Zombicide Black Plague and it's various expansions because I had only recently learned about it. That led me to going all in on the Zombicide Undead or Alive and now after playing Zombicide black plague for a while and since then I've added a lot more games to my collection, I'm starting to wonder where the hell I am going to store this stuff. Black Plague with its expansions in itself takes up a lot. On top of that I also went in on Lords of Ragnarok. I think I am doomed :(
@@GameBrigade I enjoyed the theme and the plays I got to do with it but the game is super challenging and a lot of work to setup and take down. It's especially difficult when you try to add in the expansion monster's. I spent a fair bit of time painting some of the zombies and hero's for the game which was fun. Thinking back on it I would say I spent more time painting then I did actually playing it.
its gonna be REALLY hard because you have everything.I would say play one of the cores first to see if you like it.Just set some time grab someone and see if you like the gameplay loop then after that just go by released date one by one and if you are wanting to store it all I think a good amount would fit into the legacy or maybe even both but the thing is there is tokens for certain bosses and it can be onverwlehming if you try to organize all at once.I would just take it slow because its a lot to take in in terms of content. When it comes to FOMO or KS games I don't think I have that anymore because DC deckbuilding like I bought everything for it even the big box and then I just thought to myself am I really going to play it,why do I want more stuff if I don't play it? Just had to tell myself that I had to be a more smart shopper.
@@GameBrigade the accessory packs just add dividers and basic cards for all the mages, however the first one also provides upgraded components for all the cardboard tokens. So you may want to just play the original Aeon's End with that pack. Going through it myself I do think the more recent content at least up to New Age, haven't touched Outcast or LOG yet, has more interesting designs for both mages and nemesis. The biggest issue I have with getting all of Aeon's End is the amount of market cards is unmanageable. I've owned the first two core boxes for over a year and even with just those two I found setting up the market to be a pain. When I cracked open New Age I just used the market cards from that set to make it easier on myself. I hope you do get it to the table and enjoy it because it is a great game.
Aeon's End is the EPITOME of what you say you want in expansion content... 1) Easily to integrate, not a lot of extra rules - Check 2) Stand-Alone Content - Check So, why is Aeon's End a mistake? Because you play a lot of other games? That sounds like a different problem, a streaming problem, not an Aeon's End problem.
So it's okay to go all out on a game if it's easily integrated into the base game but your example for not going all in is Aeons End? Every expansion... literally integrates into the base game.. so I don't get that point at all.
@@GameBrigade ahh okay, that makes more sense. I was thinking “I totally agree with everything but why Aeons End?” But yeah it makes sense if it was just the latest thing you had to use as a prop, so to speak.
For many people "Marvel Champions" and "Lord of the Rings LCG" are "lifestyle games" and you've gone all in on both as well as playing heaps of other games. Hope you can enjoy all of these amazing games... but... I'm a little doubtful.
Meanwhile I am here waiting for... YEARS for them to even translate aeons end legacy, let alone wave 3 and 4. do you guys already have a wave 5?! Poor german speakers haha
If you take 6 siege for example ... all in is 400 dollars ... for a game with more than 60 fcking agents. Nobody needed that many agents. So it really feels like Mythic tried to put anything they could in the game to propose an all in of 400 euros. Shamefull ! Pure greed and predatory practices. Firstly I backed the game as I have been playing the video game everyday for years now. But in the end I canceled my pledge even though it costed me money because I cant accept these kind of things.
Just don’t buy it. Sooner or later you have to draw the line otherwise it will never end. That’s what I did and so far this year I’ve passed on everything from both Kickstarter and Gamefound. It’s just getting ridiculously too much especially when your spending $400+ on one board game. I mean look what you have on the table there. Madness. Enough is enough with all these crowd funded games. What I was doing late last yr was just putting a buck down then when the pledge manager opened if I didn’t really care anymore or the hype had worn off, I’d just pass. So I lost a buck, big deal.
EOD kickstarters with way too much addon content are pure garbage. You're buying a game you don't even know you'll like, and expansions, which may ruin the game experience to begin with, on your favorite games even. Expansions are selective for intense groups and are very much not an enchantment in so many cases. Expansions can take away simplicity and mechanics that run smoothly and make jagged experiences that are a mess. I want to enforce the fact that kickstarters with too much EXCLUSIVE content should never EVER be backed. There could be some fun promo stuff or alternate art cards or something. But whole expansions or the likes? Gt hell out of here with that garbage. If the content from a kickstarter cannot be bought post ks phase, it's sorta scam. In context of what they are offering you in extra content isn't even part of the core experience, and therefore just money grab slapped on content that is not even relevant. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PRACTISE!
The day has come to stop this madness. All it consistently delivers is anxiety. No crowdfunding for the year 2023. Probably not ever again. AE just isn’t fun solo. You want to experience the tension together with friends. Anyway good that you learned that expansions are pointless. No exceptions.
Ik i've stumbled on this video very late but may i point out that this is a very strange video to make? I dont say this to be rude or mean but i fail to see whats the point you're making. I mean, why was it a bad choice for you to back the full pledge? You now have dozens if not hundreds of hours of Aeon's End to play. You dont have to play it all right away. Its like you're implying that because theres too much content for you to burn through in one week then you'll just shelve it and never play. One game takes about an hour and a half including setup and storage time. If you just play a game or two once in a while i dont see how that would be extremely time consuming. So if you end up liking the game but just play it later its still a good investment. I fail to see why you would regret buing this unless you find out you hate the game. Its not like the game has an expiration date. And at the end of the day i think everyone that backs a game is mature enough or at least aware of their situation enough to know if its wise for them to go full pledge or not.
Well for hindsight I still have half this content unopened. And I've highly considered selling all the sealed stuff. After hours of playing there really isn't a need for every single card or combination. If this is your only game in your collection, sure I can maybe see it, but with a collection size I have this was a wasted purchase so far.
Couple of things I started to do 1) don't go to KS page very often 2) don't listen to people who get these games for free who then tell me how great these games are 3) I shop at used game events

Marvel Champions, Lord of Rings are deck construction, you build it in advance of the game, not as an in game mechanic. You'll get a very very different flavor with Aeon's End.
One can never have too much Aeon's End.
Which games have you bought where you HAVE played all of the expansions and all-in?
I had Nemesis and Massive Darkness 2 fulfilled recently and many more games due to come in this year. Definitely feeling overwhlemed.
Still waiting on my MD2. Also went all in 🤪
I very rarely go all in, in fact I very rarely back super massive games.
Or the game needs to be all in with a storage solution like kingdom rush elemental uprising chest or recently 51st state ultimate.
Marvel United X-Men:core+ 1 expansion.
Wild assent: silvestrem pledge (and I already feel I overreached)
Only game I went all in is Primal.
Just went all in on Kingdom’s Forlorn 😬😬😬😬
yuupppp thats a years worth of gaming.
Im watching this litterally an hour after buying the core game and every smaller expansion for it. I know it was a bad idea... yet here i am. In my defence, I play the mobile game a LOT, but im also an idiot
We're all idiots
Most relevant video for Kickstarters imo
I almost bought in recently. Still holding off.
Cooperative games are usually not my thing because if you’re not first your last. This game however I enjoy immensely so I’ll take it all from you.
You get enough extra content with Stretch Goals generally
how did you organize this stuff?
Side Note: Sorcery is going to be on Kickstarter tomorrow. The art is done by some of the original artist of MTG.
Is it any good?
@@GameBrigade
Yeah I won't sugar coat it there.
Marvel United unfortunately got me ;)
At least it's a good game to go all in lol ... with the play time it might be one of the few where everything gets played!
@@teestarbird4478 u are right.
Such a refreshing angle. 👍 Thanks!
Thank you for watching
Even base pledges sometimes arrive with so many extras that it's off putting to try and get it all to the table. I tend to only back base pledges and skip the crazy CMON esque games full of minis too much plastic and not enough game in most cases.
Great conversation! I have felt less inclined to back large all-in pledges this year knowing I have some on the way eventually. Games like Primal, Arydia, Lavon Rising will take up a lot of my gaming time, so I know I don’t want to add more to that queue.
If you could only get one game with the all-in pledge, what would it be? It can be a game you currently have.
My too many bones so far has been the best value game I've gotten. But I really like the system. It's not for everyone.
@@GameBrigade The late pledge is still open for Too Many Bones: Unbreakable. Now I am wondering if I should back it.
Yup I've been organizing everything from the start. Helps a ton!
This is an important video!
thank you!
New subscriber. Great topic! I totally feel your pain and I also need to settle down on feeding my collection itch.
Thanks for subbing! Glad to have you part of the community.
That is me with Tanares Arena...
Same :D
Same as well, now if they'd only open the PM and let me go more all all in!
Uhhhhhhh SAME! 👀👀👀
hahaha
Also, you just dipping down and hiding behind the boxes at the end cracked me up 🤣
Waiting till the PM is so smart
Wish I did it more
that opening statement hit home 😑
Love aeons end. Play it every week. I started playing 3 months ago. I'm only on the second big box.
The group i play with sucks. It takes us a month to beat one boss. So you are probably better than us and go through half a box in a night
any character you like the best?
@@GameBrigade i like mist in the base. And i also like Mazahaedron in war eternal. Hes like budda, he heal gravehold and buy other people cards they need. I haven't played any other big boxes yet.
@@TheErnieforss played mist tonight. Was great.
The first legacy is one I don't think I'd buy again, it's ok.
There is the expedition mode which is a small mini-campaign. Totally skipable.
so far I've sorted through War Eternal and the Core Box 2nd Edition. Getting through it.
I just bought the base game. Cant wait to solo play it. Not every game is for everyone. Some will love it, for some it will not work.
You might want to have words with that friend... jkjk
I’m desperately looking to have an all in aeons end collection. Can I buy it from you? 😔
They have a Kickstarter going right now that you can get the all in from. The shipping would be much better than buying from someone
Aeon's End is really good though, but with so many boxes it is difficult to finish.
I just got New age, which are the only 4 you need? So just Aeons End OG is one? And then just one legacy? What’s the 4th? And how do I choose between the legacy options?
I don't think they need any of the legacy games. They have been "ok".
There is a new campaign right now that has some new mechanics that might be cool to check out.
what is the new campaign you're recommending called? @@GameBrigade
Ha! I went All In for Everdell based on your recommendation to go All In.
Did you lead me astray?…! 😅
I did arrange to play it with someone online first so that I could check that I liked the game first. 🤓
I went all in too. This is like 10x the size of everdell lol
Lol. I have it all as well - and am about to go all-in in the upcoming kick in a few days
PREACH. I did this with Frosthaven and never took it out of the box. Sold it as is. Never opened. Because Maladum came out and its way better.
I thought maladum looked so good. I decided to get hexploreit
@GameBrigade i need to look at that too
"... all the small expansions can easily fit into the game ..." This is true for AE as well as for most other games you mentioned, where you justified your (other) ALL-INs.
I'm all-in on Aeon's End, too. All 7 waves of content. I regret nothing.
I think I am doomed :(
I understand the feeling. We all do something similar when we get into the hobby. Have you enjoyed your play sof Zombicide?
I think that's probably the best approach. Do you have any suggestions with the accessories packs?
Hahaha. Love the intro
🤣🤣
Aeon's End is the EPITOME of what you say you want in expansion content...
1) Easily to integrate, not a lot of extra rules - Check
2) Stand-Alone Content - Check
So, why is Aeon's End a mistake? Because you play a lot of other games? That sounds like a different problem, a streaming problem, not an Aeon's End problem.
The video is rhetorical
I work hard for my money - as a result I've kickstarted 4 different projects with a total of around 110 spent..... in the last 8 years haha. No fomo.
🫡
So it's okay to go all out on a game if it's easily integrated into the base game but your example for not going all in is Aeons End? Every expansion... literally integrates into the base game.. so I don't get that point at all.
Don't think it was anything about the specific game and just the concept in general
@@GameBrigade ahh okay, that makes more sense. I was thinking “I totally agree with everything but why Aeons End?” But yeah it makes sense if it was just the latest thing you had to use as a prop, so to speak.
Game designers know what they're doing with FOMO. And board gamers seem to be an extremely easy target.
I'm a completionist myself. I always want to get everything or nothing.
For many people "Marvel Champions" and "Lord of the Rings LCG" are "lifestyle games" and you've gone all in on both as well as playing heaps of other games. Hope you can enjoy all of these amazing games... but... I'm a little doubtful.
Nope I can't play them to their fullest unfortunately.
Western Legends just put it all together and go
Just get the core dude. Make it a challenge to get just get cores instead of all ins.
Meanwhile I am here waiting for... YEARS for them to even translate aeons end legacy, let alone wave 3 and 4. do you guys already have a wave 5?! Poor german speakers haha
👍
If you take 6 siege for example ... all in is 400 dollars ... for a game with more than 60 fcking agents. Nobody needed that many agents. So it really feels like Mythic tried to put anything they could in the game to propose an all in of 400 euros. Shamefull ! Pure greed and predatory practices. Firstly I backed the game as I have been playing the video game everyday for years now. But in the end I canceled my pledge even though it costed me money because I cant accept these kind of things.
Yeah you're right. I think my love forn6 siege had me backing all in, but it definitely is a bait.
Mistake my ass..
Congratulations sir 🙏🏻
At least it’s a dope game brah.
Why does this feel like an apology to someone… specifically a spouse lol
DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PRACTISE!
true your not gonna finish that. But i can help you with that, so can i pelase have one? LOL
The day has come to stop this madness. All it consistently delivers is anxiety. No crowdfunding for the year 2023.
Probably not ever again.
AE just isn’t fun solo. You want to experience the tension together with friends.
Anyway good that you learned that expansions are pointless. No exceptions.
anno Nov 2024... well I just got StS. And DC. It's hard to stop.
But AE and FOMO that doesn't rhyme. AE has been available for decades.
kickstarter is the worst
Not a fan of Aeons End. Have it and prolly will sell it.
You are a shopaholic. We get it.

Watching this video just after pledging all-in this morning for their Late Pledge… thanks RUclips 🥲😅
