Old Gods of Appalachia is a great game. I love the Cypher System. I bought the PDF as soon as I could get my hands on it. If you have not heard the Podcast that started the lore it is a cool listen. I want to do a Appalachia based Supernatural (TV show) style campaign with this one.

Love the podcast and have been very tempted to get the book. Been searching around and there is no novelization of the podcast. So this RPG is the closest we'll get. If I'm wrong, please let me know. Also, as a big proponent of the Cypher System, I'm looking forward to your play session of that game.

That's interesting that they only went with 6 out of the 13 states, that make up the Appalachia mountains.

I love the podcast, but came to it after the RPG KS was over. It'll be interesting to see how well the adaptation plays.
I have to admit that I'm leery of the Cypher System. Multiplying by three isn't hard, but I've had players at the table count on their fingers to add 2d6+3. (No judgment zone please. They were great players otherwise.) I wonder how much multiplication might slow the game, if at all.

If you're really worried about this just use a d8 instead and treat the 8 as 0. By doing so you essentially divided the die instead of multiplying the difficulties. The only reason this needless math exists is because Cook likes d20s. And the only change is players can now achieve difficulty 7 tasks without having to spend effort or skills.
