Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. His breath control must be crazy. I heard he makes the sounds both while inhaling & exhaling. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match.

I've seen Adam do this twice in concert and he really is amazing. I always wonder if and when he has time to breathe . He must have fantastic lungs with great endurance. HomeFrys call him "a freak of nature " but I just call him very talented young man. He comes up with some very interesting noises on all their songs 🎵🤔. The level of education, experience, music therory, musicianship , creativity,
musical sophistication, technical ability, God given talent, dedication, hard work, professionalism, joy and
Love of music and entertaining others all Combine to make Adam the virtuoso he is at his craft. Same is true for all the guys. A lot of their brilliant complicated exquisite musicianship goes unidentified by us average home fries. We just know it sounds awesome, beautiful and love it and them. These guys are a Supergroup , each one is at the top of their field individually but together they are unmatched. We should just hope they keep sharing their gift with us as a group for as long as possible.

Now days he has been doing a 2 part solo where in the first part he uses a looper to put together different sounds to create almost like a song. And in the second part it’s just a man and a mic! He even does a Micheal Jackson impression and moon walk! Lol!

As phenomenal as he was then he's even better now! The man just continues to hone his craft! I showed this to my 6 yr old nephew (who's dad is a drummer) and he was convinced Adam was playing invisible drums lol. I would love to know what his actual vocal range is since we hear him "drop the bass" in this and he does that beautiful clear dreamy high note in the beginning and during the breakdown in Listen to the Music. We all knew you'd love this!!!

This is how I describe Adam Rupp's abilities.
I got on an airplane and flew to see Home Free in San Diego Sept. 2022. They performed at the Balboa theater in downtown San Diego. It is a very old historic building. I had already gotten my money's worth once I took my first step into the building. Decided to pay a little bit of extra money and go to the Q&A session before the show. The guys come out and basically talk with you for about 30 minutes. They answer all questions and it was interesting. Someone asked Adam to do some stuff. I've followed Home Free for over 2 years now. Adam Rupp has always amazed me. But I can tell you that after hundreds of videos then seeing and hearing that man perform his craft from no more then
8 to 10 feet away from me has me even more amazed and baffled now . The dude is incredible and I can't wait to see them again.
If you get the chance to see their show spend a very small amount and purchase one of the VIP packages offered. Best money I've EVER spent. Home Free has put so many smiles on my face in the last 2 years and I Thank them so much. Treat yourself to the Home Free experience. Trust me on this.👍👍👍🎤🎶🎶🔥🔥

Adam Rupp is also a beautiful accomplished vocalist. Pay attention to songs where he is not percussive voicing or beatboxing, and is singing. He has such clarity in his vocals it is mind blowing to realize the depth, breadth and width of pure genius he really is…And, by the way, is the genius behind the production of their videos. Just ❤ Adam Rupp!!!

Adam's genius is not limited to vocal percussion -- he is a well-rounded musucian who understands every part of the group dynamic! It's not Christmas season, but his arrangement of "Do you hear what I hear" is a masterpiece which plays any time of year. It's an older number for Home Free, before Chance and with Chris Rupp still part of the group he and Adam founded. I'd recommend it to you even here in April -- your appreciation and respect for Adam could only be rewarded! I really enjoy your reactions!

I think you’re the only reactor that I’ve seen that has actually done the 1 to 3 with Adam Rupp! Loved that!
Also, I don’t know if you were aware this is about halfway through the concert so he has been beatboxing for the previous 35 to 45 minutes while his compadres go take a break and he still going and he still has the rest of the show to do afterwards.
This is one of the many reasons why he is called, the Freak of Nature or the Machine. He obviously loves what he does, and is enjoying it. 🥰

Adam is a beast or as Home Free calls him a “freak of nature”. There are a few recordings of Adam doing mike work but not many….the behind the scenes of Try Everything, there’s a little bit of Adam at the mike and with Home Free singing with Lee Greenwood and the Air Force band singing God Bless the USA there’s a little bit too. Other fans may know more. When live now he has a looper machine which is so cool and it saves his voice I’m sure, but I love this one with just a mike. Thanks!

Perhaps curiously, since they're an acapella band, they can all play instruments. Austin & Tim both play piano, Chance plays guitar, Rob can play saxophone and Adam Rupp plays drums, trumpet and apparently anything else he chooses to try. He truly is incomparable! Home Free often introduces him as the heartbeat of the band (or a "freak of nature" LOL).

I know you'll appreciate this one. Austin Brown does a cover in his backyard (beautiful setting) of Eric Claptons "Tears In Heaven". The story behind why Eric wrote that song is heart wrenching to parents everywhere I'm sure. It's about the loss of his 4 year old little boy. He has been honing his skills for over 20 years and he is world class, next level. His performances are creative, electrifying and exciting. His solos are spectacular and when he performs with the group, his musicality is perfection. Someone asked him how long it took him to learn to beat box and he answered, "I'm still learning." They have a video " Home away For Home Adam's House" I might not have the title right, but it is close, and it shows him recording a couple of lines of track.

This is a great drum solo and he has only gotten better since it was recorded. He also has great drum solos from 2018 and 2022 on RUclips. His Christmas 2022 drum solo is amazing! it's labeled as Adam Rupp's Trans Siberian Orchestra.

I think a very good explanation for this: Adam Rupp is inhuman. 😉 He is a drum alien in Angelguise.
You just have to because he is so unbelievably good(and handsome too😊😍)!! Like he swallowed a drum kit. And then vocally he can also make so many more (instrument) sounds which is not normal

Look for the drum solos from 2020 to 2022. His technique and sound have improved since this video. Also check out their live version of 9 to 5 Beatboxing Breakdown. Actually, there's 2 of those; one with Chris Rupp and one with Adam Chance. The change and lineup and the different venue and lighting are the only differences between the two. And that would be after watching their music video for 9 to 5.

a very good source of a dubious rumor has it; that as kids, Chris and Adam where playing in a recording studio and Chris dared Adam to swallow everything in the room. Chris lost the dare. Thus was born Adam Rupp's vocal sound machine. ;)

If you want to hear Adam’s percussion just into a microphone (without the cell phone mic in between) just check their concert schedule and find a show near you. He does a 15 minute solo at every concert. You won’t be sorry. (Of course it won’t be mixed and you won’t have headphones)

Aha! My favorite "drum solo" video. 😀Not only that, but I've seen him do the same routine, LIVE. SO AWESOMELY MORE THAN AWESOME!!! \0/
Speaking of "blowing us away" with his talents, Adam's instrument of choice while in music college, was the trumpet. I'm a trumpet player, myself. I only WISH I could do all the other stuff he does! 😀
I see that you haven't yet reacted to "In the Blood" (their John Mayer cover from their "Timeless" album). To me, though the beatboxing on it is much more simplistic than this example, it is also much more powerful. I hope you'll check it out and react to it, when you have time. It's an amazing song, presented in the best of their very inimitable way.
EDIT: Also...I can't link to it for you, but check this out on their channel: ""9 to 5"
(beatboxing battle with all of the guys--when they were in Scotland, before Chris left the group--near the end of the song)"

I think I've seen at least one video (maybe their "From the Vault" series?) where they film in the studio putting an album together and they record in the studio and send it to Adam who has his own recording stuff and they film him putting down the beat and then they put the tracks together. Don't remember which song/album it was though, sorry.

Actually, he's a trumpet player! 😂 seriously, he studied trumpet in college. But he did learn the drums to get his movements right. He's a bit of a perfectionist in stuff like that. He also plays bass guitar. 😊
