    Be safe! I'm sure you are and your equipment will handle all that. A good (or just a stickler) DOT officer will ticket you for being overweight. That gooseneck ball is only rated @ 30k. I have essentially the same setup as you, but my trailer only weigh 6300 lbs, I haul for CAT and I won't go bigger than a CP44. My fear is getting into an accident and a good attorney sees that ball rating, then sees th GCVWR of the truck is exceeded and I'm toast. Even if I'm not the one at fault.

    • @IManOPERATOR
      @IManOPERATOR 2 года назад +4

      I can definitely understand where you’re coming yes technically I’m over by about 2-3k on my ball however from my experience and knowledge officers can mainly fault you if you’re over axle weights and or tires, things in contact with the roadways, any ball system will most likely fail in a collision that and or the neck of the trailer. On average a 40mph wreck will create over 200k lbs of force on any one object something is going to and will fail regardless. I’ve seen at my old job a tractor trailer and an empty lowboy sheet off the 5th wheel of the truck when it got rear ended by another tractor. There’s a lot involved for sure. However 3” ball is in the works to have a true 40k rating on the trailer.
      Appreciate you. Thanks for the comment

    @4:25. Why not wrap the chain from the machine around one of those rollers between stake pockets and then use the binder to sinch the chain after it emerges from the upside of the roller to the chain coming down from the machine so that you won't risk bending that thin metal bar or the hook bounces out down a bouncy county maintained road.

    • @IManOPERATOR
      @IManOPERATOR 2 года назад +1

      Great question, that rub rail is much thicker than you think, and using the roller to tie back up the machine actually binds up the binder making it contact with the chain making it twist and hard to tighten down to the machine there’s not enough separation between to the two make it easy and not become a pain in tying down equipment

    Like a musquito to a musquito lamp, some people just have to cut off the truck towing! I tow with my 1995 cclb f350. Nothing nearly this heavy and usually about 60mph. For safety I use the slow lane and everything.

      It never fails. Things I’ll never understand n life. I used to haul even heavier equipment with a tractor trailer grossing about 120k lbs and you just get used to getting cut off. Apparently people would rather die then getting stuck behind you 😂

    Hello, excellent video. I have a question which Truck recommends me with a 40 ft Trailer to make Hotshot? The RAM 3500 or 5500?

    • @IManOPERATOR
      @IManOPERATOR 2 года назад +6

      Thank you, personally I would go with a 3500, I’m not sure the amount of weight you want to be hauling everyday. Being in the hwy with 4:88 gears you’ll be at 2300 rpm or so doing 70mph with the 3500 4:10 gears you’ll be at 2k rpm
      Little bit more comfortable ride also, plus you can get the HO since 4500-5500 are SO trucks
      5500 is a much heavier duty truck however it can limit you in ride quality. 3500 is a solid all’s round hauler and having that 1000 ft lbs does make a huge difference

      I have on average 15-20% weight in my rear axle sometimes you just break loose. These trucks just have so much first gear torque. And the drag of the load just amplifies it. Sometimes could be dirt on the ground or oil who knows but it’s happened a hand full of times out of no where then won’t happen again. Just things you want to be careful of, you can definitely nap axles or a pinion that way

      This is by far the best investment you can make it will treat you right and work as hard as you do. It surpasses PJ in every way from design, weight, service, quality and biggest thing no dove tail trailer lifts more than DC my tail can lift 10k lbs and support it on the tail. PJ and load trail only lift 4K I think and it’s not a cam over system it’s a mechanical lock. This tail has no way to fall when lifted back up in its tow position much safer and much heavier duty.

    • @IManOPERATOR
      @IManOPERATOR 2 года назад

      Upping from the 3500 to the 4500 main changes are wide track front axle, larger rear end and larger breaks on the truck, also getting the option to have lower gear ratio. Back half of the frame is heavier for cargo use and heavier suspension all around on the truck. However the one down fall is a derated motor you can’t get the 4500-5500 in the HO configuration

      Best part about owning your own cluster. I do accept ram 5500 donations though.
      Plus check your flat bed make sure it even built the right way to handle this weight.

      Better chance of the ball-in the flat bed to fail if not built the proper way

    At less your not pulling it with a Ford. You can go but you can’t stop with the Ford pulling that heavy load. You will burn up the brakes up with that heavy load behind you pushing you.

      Couldn’t tell you yes or no. I’m not a Chevy person. Biggest thing for me the cummins has the best exhaust brake system. Hold weight back extremely well. I don’t see why not for a Chevy I’m sure it has the power for it and capability for it. Just stay safe out there don’t haul past your comfort zone

      It’s a gooseneck ball. And yes they have the 3” ball for this trailer. I have a 2 5/16 right now on it. Going to up it to the 3” ball soon for some extra beef.

    I can tell you what the problem is your chaining on the tail too much up play on that junk need to cross chain on articulated equipment or put the lock bar in place Dot can write a ticket for no cross chain or lock bar

    • @IManOPERATOR
      @IManOPERATOR 2 года назад +1

      There is no problem the way I hauled this machine. There’s little to no play at all on the tail of this trailer. No need to cross the chain when you’ve already achieved 45 degree of angle when chaining down (which is optimum) no clue what you’re taking about for the lock bar, dot can’t ticket you due to “how you chained” with in limitations of course, 1 being you have over 50% of towing weight chained down, you have chains tied in or tied out in pairs (min) all other chains or straps for cautionary and or to support up to your 50% of weight.
      If you’re taking about the “lock bar” for the tail of my trailer, there is no such thing. It’s a camover system that locks itself the tail with hydros has to cycle to “unlock” the tail.
      If that’s what you’re talking about.

    Nothing like a ram. Why don't you use a 5500 ram?

    • @IManOPERATOR
      @IManOPERATOR 2 года назад

      I wanted the 3500 since it ad the HO motor option and I also use my dually for longer trips at times more comfortable ride plus the truck itself is lighter allowing it to tow more weight. 4500-5500 are great trucks if you need the truck for payload capacity and or if you want lower gearing since you can get 4:56-4:88 if I remember correctly. My truck is a 4:10, honestly making it awesome for hauling heavy and on hwy I sit at 2k rpm going 70 mph vs doing 70 at 2300-2500 rpm like a 5500 would do

  • @CoyoteFTW

    Cat CP568 weight can range from 14k to 26k lbs. Trailer weighs no more than 4k lbs which means you are nowhere hear 44k lbs. Some Ram fanboy is going to kill himself because he thinks he can put 40k lbs on a truck because of your video. On a Ford you could get away with it not a dodge tho. 😉

    • @IManOPERATOR
      @IManOPERATOR Год назад +1

      This is a cp56B which weighs 26k lbs if you watch my videos I cat scaled my truck for it’s empty gross combined weight.
      You honestly think a trailer of this capability and size weights only 4K lbs? I suppose if it was to be made of titanium and carbon fiber.
      It doesn’t take me for idiots on the road to over load their truck, what I do is legal in every factor. Currently weight these days I’m in the 45/47 range with my new machine.
      I personally will never use a ford for the mountains I tow up and down on. With the transmission temps they display and the lack of engine braking they are capable of. No thank you.
