Fantasy Belly Dance: The Tarot is a collection of 20 dance performances exploring the symbolism and archetypal ideas associated with the cards of the Tarot deck.
The performances represent nearly all the cards of the Tarot Major Arcana: Fool, Magician, High Priestess, Empress, Emperor, Hierophant, Lovers, Lust, Hermit, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, Hanged Man, Death, Temperance, Devil, Tower, Star, and Judgment.
A number of Tarot cards are portrayed through stories or mythological imagery: In "The Magician" the hero's shadow escapes and takes over; "The Empress" is the story of the goddess Parvati; "The Hierophant" is a ritual of the revelation and worship of the goddess Isis; "The Lovers" echoes the plot of Wagner's "Venus and Tannhauser"; "The Wheel of Fortune" makes two rounds through the stories of Cleopatra and Medusa; while "Judgment" recalls the medieval motif of the Dances of Death.
Some of the performances approach Tarot symbolism through experiences of personal growth and mysticism: "The Star" is a story of a broken heart; "Temperance" is a seductive interplay of passion and restraint; "The Hermit" is a journey of learning and overcoming; "The Tower" is a warrior dance.
Performed by a spectacular lineup of belly dance stars, The Tarot: Fantasy Belly Dance alternates solos with group dance compositions in a wide range of belly dance styles. Contributing artists include Anasma, Andrea Anwar, Autumn Ward, Ayshe, Bellycraft, Blanca, Elisheva, Fayzah, Irina Akulenko, Michelle DeVine, Neon, Sarah Johansson Locke, Sarah Skinner, Tanna Valentine, Toshi Hamada, and Yoshina.

Coming at this from a martial arts perspective, I love the use of the sword (obviously), but what really gets me is her core and leg strength, because you'd have to be pretty solid on both counts to not only move with the precision that she does, but with the languidness. So aesthetically pleasing too, I love it!!
Just learning martial art sword work and this incredible. Did some belly dancing 20 years ago and I know how incredibly talented and hard working she is. Really mesmerizing.

as a skilled-ish bellydancer who's been dancing since i was like 9 (im 16 now), i have danced with a walking stick (belly dance bastón) and its so hard to put it in your head. for example, you learn with practice but its definitely a challenge to put it in your head while having in mind that you have 5 to no much seconds due to the music's timings, and keeping it there its another challenge. and the fact that they were basically using a sword (i don't know the right term) is the coolest thing ever, they look so professional omg
Yesss, to balance a stick over your head isn't easy at all, her balancing a sword over head is extremely impressive!
The curved type of sword is generally called a scimitar (pronounced simitar). I've never seen this dance before and using the scimitar really made it spectacular!!! Thinking about it, the curve helps it to balance somewhat, as some of it's weight is lower.
Yeah, balancing a stick, especially if it doesn't weigh much, should be harder than a scimitar.

One word: perfect balance in her spinal chord and her skeleton while she dances. This perfect balance is what dancers take YEARS of their lives to accomplish, what is so hard to find in so many dancers that might be good, but don't have this kind of balance and precision.
I can't personally speak for this woman as she very well might be that gifted. But a lot of dancing swords have a teeny tiny hook on them so you can hook it atop the head via hair

Very alluring! I've traveled the world and seen many types of dances from many different cultures but this is one of the best. She's obviously very talented and disciplined.
Got the opportunity to dance with a sword once in middle school. The dancer saw my interest and brought me to the front of the room, showed me how to move, and placed it on my head. I was essentially just flailing, trying to copy her lol. I've always thought these dancers were so, so graceful, and I love watching stuff like this. Props to anyone who can do it ^^
