Shortly after WrestleMania 33 in the WWE, I begun to feel the fatigue away from wrestling to almost not feel the drive or passion anymore. But once I saw a compilation of his Tranquilo attitude on RUclips, this man right here single-handedly helped inspire me to be a more passionate wrestling fan again. On top of all this, my mom passed away late last year and every time she’d see me watch NJPW, she KNEW how much he meant to me as one of my only handful favorite wrestlers today. Heck, her last Christmas alive, she ordered me two Naito T-Shirts off of Pro Wrestling Tees & I’m forever grateful for them. So with that being said, I wish Naito nothing but the best for his new dual championship reign going forward within NJPW. Tranquilo...Assenayo. ~
I can totally relate to your story, because WWE has started to disappoint me around the same time, and it's Omega who single-handedly made me fall in love with pro-wrestling again. But Naito is so captivating, and like Kevin Kelly said last night, he is so inspiring. His loss to Okada 2 years ago felt so heavy, but it only made his victory tonight much more significant :)

He is my favorite pro wrestler of the modern era. Even though I'm not a native Japanese speaker i can't help but be captivated by Naito. His look, his stable, his wrestling ability...i think people in 20 years are going to rank him among the all time greats.
Now you see why so many wrestling fans cheer for this man. He reaches every demographic to never quit, tranquilo and always Be Destino. He didn't win the first round, but this ain't over. He won something better Jericho attack him. So that tells you how good he is.
I agree I feel this is what it's all been building to. At WK 12 Naito couldn't win because he was still trying to reject his past. Naito hated the IC title and treated it like garbage because it reminded him of his past failures. But if he goes to WK 14 as IC champion it shows that he's accpeted his past is a part of him and he can't leave it behind. Then he can finally overcome Okada and win in the main event.
