The "reverse multiplicative" explanation of how CDR is calculated is what i'm here for. I like maths but i'm too lazy to try to figure it out myself. So thank you !
Very detailed video! The mercenaries proc'ing Decrepify wasn't something I expected from this expansion. No wonder my cooldowns were going even faster than usual lol
Great Video. I love your exact explanations. I just wished a short explanation about the difference between skill cooldowns starting with cast or after it like soulrift vs blood mist.
bold chieftain aspect can circumvent the hard cap of 75% CDR. I've tested this. with a channeling shrine, or the buff from Invigorating Hellborne in the Infernal Hordes, you are capped at the 75% CDR cap. this takes our 25 second shouts down to 6.25 seconds. you can do some quick math to confirm. 25 second base cooldown * .25 (representing 75% CDR) = 6.25 seconds. then, bold chieftain can reduce the cooldown up to 50% beyond that, giving you 3.12 or 3.13 second cooldown on your shouts. however, this is tough to pull off specifically at this moment in time as this aspect is bugged and often just... doesn't work. once the bugs are fixed though, yep, it's a nice thing to have. although it's a niche scenario. I've seen people online improperly claiming that Bold Chieftain respects the 75% cooldown reduction cap, so I just wanted to clear that up for the readers -- it is a separate effect and not beholden to the 75% CDR cap!
Macro my fellow Training Ground warrior, plz explain to me the lucky hit value in the Druid (yeah I now, but I don't know the Druid version of you) Companion Skills, in relation to the Packleader Boon. I guess neither the passive or the active part of the companions skills works for this Boon, but why?
Reverse multiplicative? The term is division, or more specifically in this case, inverse multiplication otherwise known as the reciprocal. 1/x is the inverse of x or tge reciprocal of x.
@MacroBioBoi I wasn't trying to correct you. Just confused by the terminology. From my understanding, the actual calculation for cdr would be as follows: 1-[(1-cdr)×(1-cdr)×(1-cdr)] Differential diminishing returns or possibly recursive diminishing returns.
Do all minions trigger the cooldown reduction from Abhorrent Decrepify or just some specific ones? It this an intended mechanic or just a bug that will most likely be fixed?
The minions aren't triggering the lucky hit, technically, are they? It's the curse that triggers the lucky hit whenever the cursed creature gets hit. I take that as hit by anything. If another player hits a creature with your curse, can it trigger?
@@wilpaulk6303 No. It's a well cataloged and understood bug with our minions and the Skill. Only Skill's with Lucky Hit Coefficients are meant to trigger Lucky Hit effects. The verbiage of the effect does not grant it special parameters that are meant to circumvent this mechanism.
Now, ok, I mean it's cool and all but .... why on earth .... why ... why would you slice that pie chart horizontally and not in pie quaters. I mean ... dude !!!!
Well a video that says "Use the skill you're already using and put on gear with stats" is the exact reason no one knows why it works. Hence the point of the video in the first place.

you, sir, are amazing thank you for this vid.. yes i am that necro nerd but it also helped my barb as well... thank you again PoB!!!!!!!

That's only skills that grant immunity. Their cooldown doesn't start until their duration is over.
Another great video great job Mac
Great video again :)

The 75% CDR cap is for stats on gear, not other cooldown effects.
@MacroBioBoi yep :D
thanks

another installment of Macro's Diablo 4 class for Understanding and Utilization lol
Quick question about the Zec rune, does your ultimate need to be activated for it to be reduced? Wondering since it says active ultimate in the text.
You can't reduce the cooldown of a skill that isn't on cooldown, if that's the question.
@MacroBioBoi Sorry I meant does my bonestorm have to be active or can it be on cooldown but not actively swirling. Thanks for answering!
@@Munushew The skill's duration can finish and you still have a cooldown, during which you can reduce that cooldown.
you're a genius.. why are the mercs triger decrepify? is it intended?
Hard to say other than they act like minions in this way.
Reverse multiplicative? The term is division, or more specifically in this case, inverse multiplication otherwise known as the reciprocal. 1/x is the inverse of x or tge reciprocal of x.
I'm using the term the developers use for consistency, but it's distinctly not just division.

They all do, it's a bug, but there's a universe where they don't have a solve for it that wouldn't ridiculously hamstring us.
I'm new to the diablo world and as you can imagine it's rather alot to take you in
.75 speed might help?
What kind of psychopath slices their pie horizontally like that, you monster.
Same way I eat kitkats.
I didn't know about the merc part, ty. Does that mean they can trigger my lucky hit resource generation as well? 🤔
They cannot, only decrep

@wilpaulk6303 would make sense, I guess ^^ ... but then there is this issue with logic in D4 =)

If I have just "chance" and not LHC Effect.. How do I increase that?
Do it faster and in more targets. There isn't a stat to increase.
@ I was just making sure. Some people have told me that it was the same thing as LH. Thank you answering my doubts🙏🏼
Lucky hit is a concept of a plan.
Dont mind me, I have nothing to add, just pleasing the YT overlords.
Thanks and take care!
15% of the time, it works every time.
XD

To get you to comment
To be honest I would have understood better without all the maths explained. Just tell me how to do it rather than explaining why 😅

GG!
I thought this would be about D2R. Moving on...
Why would it be?
@@metalskelly Because I'm used to watching his D2R videos :D
Well "cooldown" keyword automatically makes it non D2R related.
@@EctAmon Many D2R spells have a cooldown. This concept existed way before D4 was born :D
@@KlausMingo I know but nothing in game modifies them, hence cooldown tag in video disqualifies D2R immediately.
