I saw them live once and his left knee was freaking hypnotizing. It was like a piston seemed like it was going almost up to shoulder level (keep in mind he was hunched over pretty hard).
I saw them at Primavera in 2011 (or maybe 2012?) and they won the festival. Their live show was awe-inspiring the Steve's wit is sharp as a tack. And don't forget about Bob's greatness.
I really wish they would play in New Orleans again...they changed my life forever when they played TapeOpCon 2005. Drove in with my friends from Houston and sat through shitty bands...and finally brutalized into new life when they played. YES
Just a grouping of 1 bar of 8/8 and 1 bar of the exact same with an extra beat tacked on at the end (9/8). Cool, but not as impressive sounding when you break it down.
RIP Steve... forever shaped my musical landscape after blowing out my eardrums in Bloomington. Thank you, sir. Godspeed, Big Black.
Their drummer is so fucking good. Makes it look effortless and nothing but super precise fluid motions. No wasted movement.
he is a neanderthal hell-beast who remembers when rhythm was discovered, and brought it to man, like promethean fire

You should maybe browse some videos , he kind of sucks
@@rhaastaaYou are deaf and blind.
20 years ago I read something like “Todd Trainer is the metronome man”
Great shot of the drummer with the lighting and the symmetry of his kit (and he’s a good drummer) - I approve of this video
RIP Legend :(
Fucking Todd Trainer ladies and gents. Man is a goddamned beast and I love him. Is indie-rock fantasy league a thing yet? I call him as my drummer.
LP 2000 : this is a sad *f*ckin* song
Live 2011: this is a sad *goddamn* song
Glad Albini cultivated his colloquial language over the years.
Yes....or hadn't you heard? God is dead and we killed him.

Goodbye Steve 😪

Saw them last two nights in Seattle and they incredible.
John Regan lol and now you won't stop playing this. I ain't mad, though 💜
One of the best 90's rock group; this one is a f***ing masterpiece! You can't believe they're just 3... Albini & friends.
Cool. One of the few videos I've seen that even comes close to capturing how intense these guys are live.

To be a pedantic twat, it's the other way round - bar of 9/8 and a bar of 4/4 (it would never be written as 8/8)
I wouldn't even be 8/8, just 4/4
Great recording.
amazing !!!!!!
Todd Trainer is like an extremely violent metronome.
Epic. Epic. Epic.
Todd Trainer was handing out tickets in front of
martyrs for the show
Anybody know what drums are in his kit? (Sorry if this is phrased weirdly, I’m a guitarist looking to get into drums)
Is Steve wearing a Dead Pirates shirt?!
Where is Uffizi ?
ITs 1994 all over again.
Didnt this album come out in 2000? ;)
@@jackfalcon5352 I meant stylistically.
