Hello Mr.Hardiman, Can you please let me know if it is mandatory to exist a perfect match between: Information written in the certificate scope -> Audit report of support plant -> in interaction map (management manual)? Example: Strategic Planning / we need to register in all three documents as mandatory request?

Great information. My question is regarding the context of Legal Entity within an organization. I have a facility in China that is working on obtaining their IATF certification, and we have resources in one of our France locations that provide project management support. However the France location is part of a different legal entity than the China location, but we are all part of the same organization. Could we, because we are two different legal entities, have the China location define the France location as a service provider instead of a remote site? Therefore the China location would be the only location audited, and they would treat our France location as a supplier?
Or does the service provider have to be 100% different organization? Thank you

If I sell products to a trading company or another manufacturers and they will sell our products (without any value-added activity under their company name), do I have to consider those companies as remote support location? Thank you!

No, as the company the organization sells the products to would be seen as the customer, not a remote support function.

Good video. However, I'm looking for a more detailed definition on 'support'. Is there a difference between an active support (interface) and one time events like answering a question during an incident investigation or one time providing training? Same for product design. What if products are localized and the ownership is completely transfered to the manufacturing site (incl. technology package)? This is similar if technology would be bought from outside. Then no support location can be audited.

Support functions are part of an organization where support in meeting any of the IATF requirements is done. If services are purchased, of example support in incident investigation, these are not remote support, they are purchased services

Mr. Hardiman, thanks for your video, What is the CB approach for 20 sales offices across the globe and all declared as remote location. Do 3rd party CB auditors audit them all?

The short answer under rules 5th is yes, all would need auditing at stage 2, each one once in the surveillance cycle and again all at recertification

In recertification audit, should we do audit in remote support location. Pls explain. It is understood that it is mandatory in stage 2 initial audit. Thank you

All remote support locations have to be audited at stage 2, in the surveillance audit cycle and at recertification. For remote design locations, they must be audited at least once every 12 months.

Could you please clarify that does the same auditor would do audit in remote support location and manufacturing site or different auditors can be used based upon the geographical location.

Different auditors can be used. For example if the site was in the USA and the remote in Japan, a local auditor could use in Japan to audit the remote support, and then communicate with the auditor at the site the result and any audit trails to follow. The key thing is the interaction between the remotes and a site have to be effectively audited, even if different auditors are used.

If I had 4 warehouse where only received, storage, and dispatch takes place and I've service level agreement with them. Will I still required to add those warehouses in scope of certificate?

If the warehouses are part of the audited entity they all have to be included in the scope of IATF certification. If they are "outsourced", they would not be included in the scope of any audit, but the way the organization is managing the outsourcing would be audited.
