I was lucky. I only went to Vietnam, and the Dress Rehearsal called Desert Storm. The Reservist I know called it the world's longest Summer Camp with a live fire exercise near the end.
My Dad served in WW2, Korea (stayed home), Vietnam, and a year in Saudi. He retired in 1973, after serving for 35 years. Died in 1999. My Dad would tell anyone that if you were in the service and did any job the military told you to do, you are a vet and deserve the respect of all other vets and the general public. To all the people who were in the military, "Thank you for your service."
My dad also served in WW11 and Korea. He never bragged about being in the service but did cry for the soldiers who served in Vietnam the way they were being treated when the soldiers came home. Served in the Marines. I salute all veterans and military soldiers. 🪖
Every person who served honorably, irregardless of task, is a person who gave for their country & every veteran deserves respect, a DECENT SALARY & support for his family-for life.
how did the people who invaded iraq serve their country? they went there, destabilised a region that was barely holding together and created a worldwide refugee problem and now half the world has to deal with illegal immigrants some of which end up committing violent crimes because of the untreated trauma they suffered there was no honor whatsoever in what they did to iraq. and you can say the same about vietnam libya and even kuwait

But every veteran doesn't deserve respect now if they act like asses. Be glad to honor the service but I ain't going to be glad to honor dickheads. I got her back not his.
Every blessing and all my gratitude to all veterans. I was a little girl in 1975, so please pardon how late this is, but an especially heartfelt "welcome home" to all Vietnam-era vets.
My dad never bragged. I had to start listening to his war stories from others (how he was the only survivor in ambushes, how he used to drink a whole bottle of whisky and smoke cannabis before his "suicide missions" (that's what they called his missions because the probability of returning was super small", how he had to collect pieces of his best friend (when their convoy jeep fell in a landmine) to bring them to his family and talk to his friend's son (and godson), how he survived sniper fire and ambushes, so many stories... His "nom de guerre" was "Soma e Segue" (roughly translated: "Add and follow" (Mission after mission).Later in his life he started telling these and other stories,
Beautiful story. Soma e segue is Portuguese. Would you mind to share the nationality? As a Brazilian reservist, the history of real life hero is a tremendous motivational drive.

It's been my experience that the more serious the service given, the less noise is made about it afterward. That said, bedpans have to be changed, and doing so is honorable service deserving of respect.
My experience too. I'm a veteran, ten years - four in USAF and six in the USN. But never saw combat. My relatives who saw combat, they never talked about it. My old late Uncle Abe saw combat in WWII and Korea. All he'd say about Korea was, "It was cold. So cold."
It’s all honorable! He is the one who made it not honorable. Also, the distinction in type of work here was more about showing him she was very much capable of kicking his ass for the disrespected given to these women, imo.
These thugs are in no way respecting these women. First, calling a woman you do not know, "Sweetheart" in a condescending tone is unwanted. If that guy had been alone, probably would have done that. These kind of guys feed off each other-it's revolting. I've never seen this movie "Fear the Night," but I hope she got the chance to straighten them out even more!
If he thought the implication of being an orderly was shameful, that's on him. It probably means, that whatever he did, *he* was ashamed of himself for not having a role that saw combat. Because you know if he was changing bedpans, he'd more likely have cracked a joke, probably apologised, and gotten his friend to back off. There's no helping someone who's ashamed of their service - military or civilian. There are less than glamorous jobs that need doing to keep cities, militaries, or countries running. There's no sense in being ashamed of doing what's needed.
My dad said " i don't need a medal, i was that soldier, i know i was there"!!He had loads of medals, in a box , didn't need to see them, knew where they were. Miss him .😢😢

My granddaughter is 2nd airborne, and almost bled out three years ago before she could get help! (Waiting for the only doctor who would do anything) no emergency entrance or personnel) at 6:00 ! Government should not be involved with women’s healthcare at all, not for religious reasons! That against our constitution and oaths of offices !
@elocinsbgdaddy Given recent events, I'm guessing he means she nearby bled out due to a pregnancy complication. Because some states have written laws that basically say you can't let a woman abort a pregnancy until she is literally dying. So keep that in mind, the forced birthing crowd will let your military veterans bleed out and die in agony when doctors could save them because they are so uneducated about how complicated and dangerous a pregnancy can be.
This having ever so much to do with reproductive care, civilian side health care in general or whatever 2nd airborne is, as there is no second airborne division, there is an 82nd, under the XVIII Airborne Corps. And if government isn't involved in healthcare, especially women's healthcare, how does a woman get a licensed physician, since there would be no medical licenses? Not to mention that you jumped from federal to what is by all definitions currently state jurisdictions, which every US citizen knows are entirely separate entities, each with different powers and limitations that don't even overlap, per the US Constitution. The oaths of office only swearing allegiance to the laws and Constitution of the US. Can you get *anything* right? For that matter, do you even have a child? You've gotten everything else not even wrong! Better yet, stay the fuck off of my side.
I'm happy that government is involved in healthcare - 🇬🇧 NHS. The last Tory Government defunded it trying for privatisation by stealth. When properly managed, it's one of the best aspects of the UK. It's not a case of government saying what treatment we can get but millions of Americans are happy with a commercial insurance company saying what THEY can get. Bad writing. I've seen inter branch rivalry before, but I've never heard a combatant crap on transpo and logistics (that's what an airlift wing does by the way) by saying they didn't really serve, especially where she said she was a recipient of the medical transpo. During my contract security days, I worked with a lot of law enforcement and military, retired and active. If that was realistic, she wouldn't have said he didn't really serve. She would have reprimanded him for being unbecoming of his service.
@@bea4819 The attitude, definitely, but not about the military attack after she knew he served. It depends on their skillset of course, but they don't put down the guys that pulls them out of the fire when it gets hot, and make sure they have what they need when they're in enemy territory.
Yes, Thank you for your service. My uncle served during WW2 and died during the war.

Every person who served honorably, irregardless of task, is a person who gave for their country & every veteran deserves respect, a DECENT SALARY & support for his family-for life.
how did the people who invaded iraq serve their country?
they went there, destabilised a region that was barely holding together and created a worldwide refugee problem and now half the world has to deal with illegal immigrants some of which end up committing violent crimes because of the untreated trauma they suffered
there was no honor whatsoever in what they did to iraq. and you can say the same about vietnam libya and even kuwait
Yah what did they served? The greatest country? Why did they serve? Not for a paycheck I hope
Yes every person
Sure kid, sure. Every veteran is equal. You were apparently a REMF. I’m not sure what you kids call rear echelons mother F’ers now days. I bet you were one of those guys whose contract called for a specific stationing so that you were safe from combat? Do they still do that?
His "nom de guerre" was "Soma e Segue" (roughly translated: "Add and follow" (Mission after mission).Later in his life he started telling these and other stories,
My late mom was a "WAC" and my late father was Army Air Corps then Air Force. They never bragged but told stories to we kids as life lessons.
Beautiful story. Soma e segue is Portuguese. Would you mind to share the nationality? As a Brazilian reservist, the history of real life hero is a tremendous motivational drive.

My uncle taught people how to drive a tank in Germany in the early 1970s. I found it odd after he passed away that his headstone said Vietnam on it because he never went to Vietnam nor had ever claimed to have gone there. It turns out during wartime no matter where your stationed at in the military they'll tack that on there just to let people know you served during that period of time.

As someone in the Air Force that’s served in Germany including Ramstein. Someone who wrote this actually served or lived there 💯.
Clearly she only said it cause she felt he and his friends werent showing proper respect as it was veteran hat and he was tryna belittle her first .
Miss him .😢😢
Mine too. Disfigured in Belgium nearly froze to death while drowning in his own blood . He passed in 99. So keep that in mind, the forced birthing crowd will let your military veterans bleed out and die in agony when doctors could save them because they are so uneducated about how complicated and dangerous a pregnancy can be.
Yeah she nearly bled out cause of the VA, but somehow you’ll blame Trump
This having ever so much to do with reproductive care, civilian side health care in general or whatever 2nd airborne is, as there is no second airborne division, there is an 82nd, under the XVIII Airborne Corps.

Not to mention that you jumped from federal to what is by all definitions currently state jurisdictions, which every US citizen knows are entirely separate entities, each with different powers and limitations that don't even overlap, per the US Constitution.

Nothing more attractive... Gotta love her. Salute to all our infantry, ground troops, and air support. They wouldn't take me but l tried. My dad did 3 theaters as an Infantry Sergeant in WW2. . . and all those who gave all and their best friends too: the greatest of all Generations!
I don't know a lot about this stuff but I think them being creepy and gross to the other girls is why she treated them like that
@@bea4819 The attitude, definitely, but not about the military attack after she knew he served.
No branch of the military, at least from all of the people I've worked with, makes fun of medicals, even if they're just transp.
Those guys are their life line - they drop supplies, handle logisitics, provide visual cover, evac injured, flies out rescues, and more.
It depends on their skillset of course, but they don't put down the guys that pulls them out of the fire when it gets hot, and make sure they have what they need when they're in enemy territory.
They literally call many of them angels in the sky, which, she said she was transported out when she was injured - he was an angel.
It's really bad writing.
It's more gender war stuff. The writers weren't exactly aiming for realism.
I just chalked it up to the fact her character is supposed to be a bitter pissed off all around jerk
Woman's power 🤣🤣🤣🤣 she shut him up 👍🏽✊🏽💪🏽
In moviessssss, always in moviesssss
And bcuz ur weak and loser and has limited access then there u r, that's ur words.@@oldlonewolf9649
@oldlonewolf9649 it's called sci-fi
Ladies did not serve in Fallujah, but if Schumer gets his way then Taylor Swift & Brie Larson will lug a mortar up a mountain 🏔️ in Iran.
McNamara More On for Ladies, but the only other compulsory for Ladies is in Scandinavia.
@@vance9460I disagree, sci-fi includes science, that's just pure fiction lol
Man you gotta love Hollywood writers
Usually, they fuck everything up, starting with geography.
Do you know where any of those German communities and bases even are?
Ohhhh burn, she roasted him with words LMFAOOOOOOO 🤣🤣🤣
This never happened Please Hollywood stop
we visited Ramstein Air Base in a school trip and not one person informed us that there was a huge plane crash in 1988 and 70 people died smh
I remember that.... I was in Nuremburg, Johnson Barracks...
really? you must've seen horrifying pictures back then. many of them aren't public anymore. may the souls of the soldiers, visitors and individuals rest in peace... we didn't even pay our respects or anything. that was so ignorant of our trip-advisor.
@@germangirl2017 No pictures seen, just remember it from the Army news report. Sad deal....
Correct, my uncle was there at the show
