I don't particularly expect you to update anything on your end, but I've used this device now for about a year and while it worked well initially, over time I've noticed a bunch of crashes and driver issues that my PC has had, including a few bluescreens due to driver issues pointing directly at this. While the device itself may be solid, they do not update or upkeep their drivers which is causing these issues.
What did you have the input gain set to during your guitar audio tests? I heard that some people are getting a whine/squeal noise (ground loop hum?) when the input gain is above 50% with an instrument plugged in. Also, you say it's fine for home recording. But how would it do for something like recording music (hard rock guitar for instance) for a web/tv show soundtrack?

I have a question when you use an interface such as this does it work as the sound card after you hook it up? Or do you still need to use your computer sound card for day-to-day activity
It depends, if you plan on never disconnect then you would need to set it as default sound device on your OS (windows) for it to be used by all software, if you don't do that then some software will still use the sound card but some DAWs will pick up this when launched, you also need to specify which driver you will use, for example with FL you can choose between FL ASIO (FL will choose this by default) or ASIO4ALL

I'm having an issue with my scarlet solo right now and my gut said its interference. but I'm not smart enough to know if its digital interference, electrical or just a noisy mic. any extra knowledge helps. keep the vids coming.
I have an M-Track Solo and can't find any real gripes. For $50 you know it isn't going to be a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. But for the average podcaster or single-instrument player looking to get sound into their DAW (mine's Reaper), it's a good deal. The 1/8" headphone jack and USB-B screams PC, and the two RCA jacks in the back just beg to be hooked up to your vintage 90's Technics tuner-amp with a set of fat JBL speakers...but that's one of the reasons I bought it. It's plasticky and the knobs are a little wobbly, but it does the trick for cheap

I´m thinking of buying it since the interface I have also plays the DI sound even though I am using plugins with my guitar. So I get the distorted sound and the clean sound as well. Do you know if this is also the case with the M track duo? Enjoy your interface man!
one month later how do you feel, any limitations? I'm thinking of buying one
Can you make songs with like studio quality sound
A while ago I bought the steinberg ur12 for guitar practice. It clips way too much. Can you recommend an audio interface in the 100-150 range for guitar playing? I'd be using it with amplitude 4/5.
I just received this. I'm using it with the Samson Q2U. When I monitor the interface with my IEMs I hear a lot of white noise even with the microphone unplugged. When I plug my IEMs directly into my macbook m1 air there is no noise. This white noise happened when my Q2U was connected to my macbook also. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to figure out how to get rid of this white noise!
I've downloaded the firmware update and it now records up to 32-bit 48KHz, and playback at 32-bit 44Khz.
There is a 16-bit sound chip inside, the firmware cannot update the hardware.
im getting this loud high pitched screeching noise whenever im using the device with guitar and bass, do you know a way to reduce this? cause im going deaf
Hello, i have a question, that I hope you can answer.
I want to sample stuff from YT or even a discman. I don't want to do anything illegal,as i don't intend to sell music. I want to have fun.
I used MPC Beats software, and when I try to sample, directly from the computer, like YT on chrome the audio is very bad or it just doesn't work sometimes.will this help me?
My gain signal keep showing red light since the first time i plugged to the usb. And the result input is distorted. The gain control doesnt help it always on red light. Anyone can help?
Hello, thanks for this review. I have a question that you might know the answer to. Could this unit be used for allowing 2 microphones to be used simultaneously as an audio input for video conferencing such as zoom? Will both channels be mixed together, or under audio devices do I have to choose channel 1 or 2? Any information is appreciated thanks in advance.
It is possible to connect a microphone into the line input, however I don't think it will sound the same as the microphone input. Bottom line, it's technically possible but probably won't be as efficient
That's because the gain control knob on the line input is meant for muscial instruments, mostly guitars
This was a great Video.
I had questions about the interface and this answers them.
This POS died on me after 3 months. It just stopped sending signal to DAW (I tried it on Pro Tools and Audacity). I can hear my bass and the playback in my headphones but it just doesn't record anything. I tried in on 2 PCs - same issues. NOT recommended.
just bought one...Input 1 works fine (with either mic or electric guitar) but when I plug either electric guitar or bass 9both have passive pickups) into Input 2 I get no output to my computer (I can hear it fine through headphones plugged into the M-Track Solo).....so am I limited to only using Input 1, or am I doing something wrong, or is the device not functioning properly?
can you please do a review on zoom u 22 audio interface
umc22 or m track solo ? i have trouble chosing please help
M Track Duo or Behringer UMC22?
thanks for recommending this. i am purchasing one this will be my first audio interface and my budget is relative to being a beginner. so this shpuld be perfect. keep it up. best review so far. thanks!!!
Can you cover things like the digital interference you're talking about.
I was literally looking between the Behringer and this last night to get my entry for my electric guitar. Thanks so much and I will definitely use the affiliate when I buy this. Thanks!
Do yourself a favour a spend like $10 more and get the Behringer UMC22 it blows the UMC2 and both M-Audio out of the water
What’s your experience with plugging an electric guitar directly into the umc22? His review said it made a clicking sound.
@@jonjoygaba it might be a faulty one he got because mine works perfectly fine. They won't be of the same quality of a more expensive unit but they are clean and work well. A friend of mine who is a professional guitar player borrowed it to record some parts for a client and didn't find any issues. He uses a focusrite but his died hence borrowing mine.
Awesome and thanks! It turns out the umc22 is $49 at Sweetwater!
@@jonjoygaba Nice one, believe me it is better you won't regret it.
Hey man, old video but a quick question none the less. Is it class compliant in that I can stream directly into my Galaxy s22 Ultra, and alike? Thanks
is it good for talking head videos in podcast like setup just one peroson and running it with rode podmic, i currently use rode videomicro as a shotgun mic will it be better than that.
£50 vs £40 (UM2 always on cheap somewhere)
Seems okay, but a bit lack lustre given how long the UM2 has been out.
4:36 when I do that my mic starts heavy distorting, is that normal??
heyy can you please tell what's wrong with the rca output, why you pit it in cons, does the other interfaces have different kind of outputs?
Fav part of the video is your own recording mix, nice stuff
How do you turn of sound in the monitors while recording..I try switching the direct/USB switch but doesn't work
Is it better than the um22? Would this be better than a USB mic of any kind? Are there usb mics better than getting a mic with these interfaces?
appriciate the "loud audio countdown" warning :D
I didn't want to hurt someone's ears. Glad it's appreciated. Thank you for watching, I hope you have a great day.
any good on connecting an edrum in order to reduce latency? if it's a silly question, I apologise, but I know next to nothing when it comes to music/podcast tech
How much difference between48 khz and 192 khz. Does it matter Or not please reply.
Can you review the new id4? I'm a singer and i'm searching the best entry level audio interface
I've owned a few and tested about 6. Scarlet, Audient, Motu, etc. I currently have the M-Audio Air 192 (cost about $120) and it's great. I sent the rest back.
Wait... You sent back the motu m2? Too pricey? It should be superior, no?
@@harryturnbull963 yikes he may have realized he made a mistake :x
one question my is new ,but why my power light is red and not green ?
You always say to check the doobly do, but I never see anything in the description, lol. I was just curious because my gain has to be set way higher for me to get a decent volume from my mic.
Just a quick question: why do you always use the nt1 for audio interface reviews?
It's a mic a lot of people have.
@@AnnaVannieuwenhuyse ya I guess
hello Wich is the output 1 and wich is the output 2.... are tag as left and right
You have the best reviews
Are you able to plug in a stereo keyboard, sing and record at the same time?
