Who's here after watching the live action adaption
I am not a fan of Alita Battle Angel. But I’ve become one of them. I cried during this scene in the theatre

Mee
The live action adaptation is extremely accurate, it actually broke my heart
Y-Dexter 13 it was emotional, it’s just Alita’a “Nooo!” part that kind of killed it alittle bit lol. Not that I’m bashing on Rosa for trying to deliver a line, it’s just... hahaha. It’s reminds me a lot of Darth Vader screaming “Nooo!” in Star Wars Ep. 3
@@Pikachufps3 i thought it was just me
Yeah o agree
Hugo was a miscast. The white guy doesn't look like going to Zalem was his dream.
But i still missed Yugo's backstory
This scene is very much emotional in the movie also
This scene angered me why there never any good endings for these characters
agree
@@minivloggerman cuz it is anime/Japan and I love it
It’s more sad in anime since Hugo obsession and his reasoning for going to Zalem is more flesh out than the movie. But the movie still good.
It hit alot harder in the live action imo. While this certainly had the visuals, both the dialogue and the timing was more organic and yes....heartbreaking.
I’ll take “Thank you....for saving me” over “Goodbye my love” any day
They actually did a much better job of this scene in the movie, loved it. Like you could see the very moment Alita loses hope and it just rips at your heart...
Exactly
The movie has better acting but the manga/anime has the better dialogue
Nah the manga have a much richer and emotional backstory for Hugo, in the movie he’s annoying af
The only thing I didn't like about the movie version was how they westernized the scene by showing the audience that someone is operating the tube blades. They thought it would be a better idea to show that a text-book-bad-man is to blame for the characters' misfortunes.
This version just had blades run down the tubes as a sort of "maintenance", it hammers home the idea of an uncaring world. Its arguably much more painful to watch because of how unfair it feels.
@@madtitan0825 good backstory doesn't instantly make a scene better if the storytelling isn't as good.
That's like saying that you bought imported ingredients cultivated from the finest farms in order to justify that your shitty cooking is actually good.
Who else came here after watching the movie?

Rip hugo😢😢😢i hope doc find him

this scene is literally the exact scene in the real movie, WOW
It wasn't well made in that shitty movie
@@chrisdrouet1568 it's not shitty
@@chrisdrouet1568 yes, it was better in the movie
@lar ljd shut the hell up u dumb shit it isn't even faithful to the original story Nova isn't even allowed to be in Zalem, dumbfuck go watch ur captain marvel shit
@@chrisdrouet1568 your life is shitty dumbass fucking hater
A well-done scene in the anime, but I really think it was much more tragic and emotional in the live action version. The characters seemed much more in touch with each other, and Alita was looking away and fighting back tears, denying and accepting the inevitable simultaneously as she felt so helpless to do anything.
Yes, movie version seems more emotional too me as well. For example, episode with her heart. And her facial expressions were so natural!
Yeah, feeling relieved to see him survive once only to feel the dread of what’s about to happen... the scene was so emotionally impactful
The movie one was more impactful cuz they were a bit more developed as a couple. They were cute and as my friends around me were loving it, i knew where it was going. It made it harder to swallow than the anime one.
Especially since its the same guy who made Titanic. So he knows that tragic stuff lol
I disagree this scene represents a lot of what the theme of the anime is trying to convey. The thought of Yugo believing that his dream is on top of some city, and realizing that his dream was actually with alita all along. The themes of robots or machines exhibiting senses of emotion and like here desperation, love, loss and if you look at Yugo's face freedom and release that wasn't really conveyed in the live action. His final expression is not only a realization of his love for Alita but also his release from his attachment to the foolish dream.
He felt sad in the movie when he knew he was going to fall, he tried to tell Alita that he was already saved and there was nowhere for him to go. I think it was okay overall in the film. It was kind of clear that he got it pointed out to him that he was doing something in conflict with him being a friend of Alita with the Cyborg harvesting, he tried to get out, but too late.
I literally felt her pain when she screamed in both the anime and the live adaption holy shit
When he's into zalem more than he's into you
But she changed his mind at the last moment. So technically he was more into her than zalem, alas too late did he realize that.
@@yashvintackoory2893 r/wooosshhh
gotta follow the plot lmao
tho ngl, great movie. AND I WANT A SEQUEL! NOW
Felix Arvid Delos Reyes srsly?
@Ano Nymous its not that deep, my dude
What a stooge. He has that beautiful girl totally in love with him and he goes off to chase some pie in the sky impossible dream instead that gets him killed.
@Overfiend002 so, Gally/Alita is a walking barbie doll she has no vag either, but a real human brain, and she's not feeling suicidal.
@Overfiend002 I made no mention of a fucking female organism only that Alita doesn't have a pussy/vagina anything down there, just a human brain in the body of a robot, and she doesn't get horny at all.
The Female orgasm is real, you just suck at knowing how to please your woman, that's all. if she's not shuddering, squeezing your head with her thighs, or digging her nails into the back of your skull, you're doing it wrong as always.
What a stooge XD amazing insult
Jordan Valencia what an edge
That is unfortunately true of a lot of people.
The movie has already been released in Malaysia and I can say this scene is in the movie and it made my eyes watery. I dare say it was done better in the movie than in this anime. Alita's facial expressions are amazing. The visual effects are definitely worth watching in IMAX 3D. I want to see it again!
John L exactly, i was blown away with the emotion.
It was really heart touching, .... it’s just .... (I’m not trying to bash on Rosas performance on this scene in live version on theaters, but her screaming no....) lets just say you were suddenly watching Matt Damon scene on Asgard’s drama theater in MCUs Thor Ragnarok. I’m so sorry, but as I walked out of theater during its credits, I just died in laughter LOL. Believe me, Rosa as Alit was spot on. And her CGI facial expression was just over the top good, just like Josh Brolins facial CGI effect when he played as Thanos in Infinity War. And both of their performances were astounding. Really can’t wait to watch Alita more times along with her sequel and Avengers Endgame! Rosa is a wonderful actress and her as Alita was good. It’s just, the noooooo part.... hahahahaha XD
They have Imax3d in Malaysia? 🤔😊
First Anime film I ever saw, aged 15, 20 years ago. Made me cry.
The power of a good story.
If this scene isn't in the live action, it's an instant fail.
I'm pretty sure it will be, then shortly after motorball!! :-D
or maybe Hugo is just someone that introduces Alita to motorball.
It will be. Would make absolutely no sense not to have it. There wont be a dry eye in the theater. Atleast for all the girls.
keep stupid yankee soyboys away from real Anime my friend, and I meant, DON'T watch the fucking holywood movie, it's going to be a disgrace
It is in the movie, go watch the final trailer and watch very closely
Well, he would've exploded in a Michael Bay adaption.
LOL
No he did not
Looool
Noice
LMFAO
The live action was pretty freaking incredible tbh
This scene is in the movie just saw it today. Great movie. They changed the dialogue a bit though. And in the live action its more brutal than this the way his body got chopped. Oopp! Spoilers 😂
Kristofer Ramirez how’d you’d see it already??
@@Anna-wd8ox it was released feb 6, here in the Philippines. I think in asia its feb 6
Oh how cool! So the movie really is good from the standpoint of someone who has seen the anime and read the manga? I have a friend who is refusing to see it because she thinks Hollywood is going to butcher the plot line
Well its not exactly the same as the animated mini series. But its pretty close. And rossa did a great job. Sad ending indeed but it was an action packed movie very entertaining, most movie which lasts for more than 2hrs is usually half talking half action right? This one it was more action.. That's my opinion. I think it was very entertaining. It has james cameron's the terminator/dark angel vibe.
I felt this live action was way better than other anime live actions created earlier ,even i was a bit doubtful abt watching it but finally watched it and loved it.
"Until this moment my life was a cosmic joke, my entire existence pointless and unnecessary" had me rollin 🤣🤣 but I feel you bro
On the real note I remember watching this in the sci fi channel years ago as a kid and this scene broke my heart ;_; I remember crying after
Who just got back from the
Alita battle angel 2019
Me!
2:23 yes the character death made me cry but this music is my favourite part.
Hugo was such a great tragic character, it's a shame both anime and movie cut out so much about him
Good to know the movie adapted this scene so faithfully.
Well they did say it was a restricted area
NOOOO, so tragic his death. I love this old style of animation it is so alive. I am crossing my fingers because James Cameron is supposed to do this one sometime in the future.
And now, here we are.
How do you like the live action trailer ao far?
I saw this anime at 6 years old, i never forgot this scene, after 16 years i finally find it
You should see the live action movie is really good and the second one is coming out soon
This scene is really in the live actionnn!!!!!... damn so proud
They better put this scene I swear
I feel like this spoils everything :p
Hollywood tends to like happy ending...so good chance they don't.
that wont happen, because it would ruin the story, and both James Cameron and, Robert are fans of the Manga. so the movie should be faithful
They added it!
@@synthesizer8254 In a better way. Setting up a sequel, if the movie made a great success in the theatrical release.
Seeing as how James Cameron (slayer of love interests) is directing, i have little hope Yugo/Hugo will live. 💀
After watching the movie:
🔥(INTENSE SCREAMING)🔥
Sauron the Samaritan lol
no, this scene will happen in the movie, it is in the trailer
If James wasn't planning to do sequels, Yugo/Hugo would've lived.
*_Nice to watch this scene after watching the movie_*
Fucking hell we just saw the live action I embarrassed myself by shouting HUGOOOOOOO in this scene
Anyone in 2019 watching after live action
Me
i almost cried after watching Alita at the theater, so touching :(
Vine aqui solo porque acabo de ver esta escena en el cine D:
1st Arc - Prologue to Alita's story
2nd Arc - Alita's first lover and the tragedy that befalls at the end (in the video above)
3rd Arc - The Aftermath of the 2nd, Alita's despression when her lover died. Participating in the gladiator "motorball" match.
4th Arc - Zapan's Revenge and Enter "Desty Nova"
5th - Quest in Hunting Down "Desty Nova"
pretty sure 1-3 will all be in the first movie.
saying as Ajakutty is in the first movie.
www.imdb.com/title/tt0437086/
I LOVE this animation, there is so much beauty in it!!
Spoiler for the live action movie:
THIS SCENE IS INCLUDED IN THE MOVIE, HUGO DIED.
2:38 this part makes me 😢 in both versions
It's just as heartbreaking in this version than the live-action one
Damn, the live action version was surprisingly faithful.
This was literally the only scene from this I knew, because it was in an AMV, and then I saw the live action movie, having never watched it, and the whole time I was like "That guy's gonna die, and it's gonna be sad", and then it got to the flashback fight on the cable and I was like "YOOOOOO I KNOW EXACTLY HOW HE DIES NOW", and then this happened SHOT FOR SHOT, and I was like YOOOOOOOOO, And then it ended on a 2b continued and I was like YOOOOOOOOO I thought there was like another 30 minutes of movie left.
wow I never thought I would say this, but the adaptation did it better, and I am just so happy that we got an adaptation so well done
Man, even in old anime version it reaps out hearts
spike spencer, what a legend
This looked FUCKIN' STUNNING in IMAX 3D!! Can't wait to go see it again!!
Here I am crying at 3 am, what a wonderful world...
watched the live action one last night and this scene made me cry SO MUCH
You like this anime ?
It's very rushed and tells way to much stories together, it's a good attempt but if you really liked it....
Do yourselves a favor read the manga.
It's easy to read, the art is magnificient it's smartly written, after that you won't ever want to watch this anime again.
The manga is 10x better.
I agree the Manga is FAR better, but the anime is a nice to watch also.
cant wait for the movie!!
The manga is expensive ...
Man I wished that they would make a full series back then, the art style and animation in the 90’s are perfect for shit like this.
@@adlmcorp4858 There's kissmanga where you can read the scan for free.
good for you
They better put alita 2 bro
What the heck, I've watched the movie adaptation and my heart still wanted to make Yugo alive 😭
Seeing this in the movie hit my heartstrings *snaps fingers* just like that!
Wow this scene was so well executed in the Film..
The trailer of live action movie came out yesterday! It is pretty amazing!!
Can't wait to see it Summer 2018!!!
Jimmy Dinh yup counting down the days!!
Good to know this shit is just as emotional in the fucking anime as the movie.
Came here after I watch Alita, this is by far the best Anime Adaptation I have ever seen.
Wow the movie Hugo seems like a better guy even regret how he was but this one doesn’t really think about her.
i saw the movie yesterday, its a sad ending but worth i hope a 2nd movie would be made soon.
Quick comment
This film was made quite some time ago. Considering this was a anime film that was barely even an hour long. To be honest, the anime version isn’t even a movie. It was an OVA (Original Video Animation) meaning it’s purpose was basically an ad, marketing to people to read the manga. I see many people saying the live action scene did it more justice. Keep in mind the era of when the anime was made. I believe the anime deserve some more credit than it’s due.
Both are amazing is the best comment that could be made.
Who else wanted to comment "Who's here after watching the live action adaption" just to find out it was too late as someone else already did it?
There is a slight change in the movie, but still Very Emotional.
I can't wait for the Second Part of the Movie. Loved It.
Just watched the film(i know im late) but this part broke me😢
This(Alita), Ghost in the Shell and Blade Runner are among the best cyberpunk genre films ever!
This version really is heartbreaking to watch, she really loved him and before he realized it, it was too late 😞
Please,I watched the live action movie and it turned me from a skeptic into a fan! Spread the word for them if you like the movie, tell someone, we need a sequel, please help them!
I'm crying ❤ i love this escene
forget the noses, the movement of cel animation vs computer animation is far superior. looks more detailed too and the coloring is fantastic vs artificially colored computer crap.
This was literally in the movie.
Well almost, some of the impact is lost because of how odd the pacing is. I didn't really get his need to get to Zolum unlike here.
Ocelotl Chimalpahin in the movie he has more reasons to leave Iron City, he has a bounty on his head that was most likely doubled for his “fake” death. Not only that but he knows that Alita would be in danger as well. I like the movie scene better than the anime one because he cares more about just getting to Zalem but also just staying alive and helping Alita
I love the fact that this scene was very similar to the movie!
What a throw back, what a classic
I cried to death when Hugo died in Alita (the movie)
Just saw the live action and now I'm here.
Had this on vhs back in highschool I cried
Stil reading the manga, its amazing how the character grew from this little kid who knew nothing about her self, til what she has become now(108).its kinda funny how she's called gally in the ova and alita in the manga.
I wish they make the sequel of battle angel
this is one thing that could've been done better in the live-action movie. Over here, he's clearly desperate to get to Zalem no matter what it takes and even though it's clearly impossible for him to get there he tries anyways because he knows he'd rather die than never have the chance to fulfill his dream. The tragedy is that there was really no other way that this could end other than through his own death, but since the movie basically waltzed over his aspirations it really just seemed like an orchestrated death done by the main villain.
Sure, you could say the same thing about this movie but even then it still doesn't change the tragedy of this character who really didn't give a flying fuck whether or not he was being manipulated if it meant he could get to Zalem like his brother always wanted. In the movie he was being manipulated and he really didn't give a fuck, his only drive was Alita which was ultimately weak for the story since it did nothing other than give Alita tragedy in her life.
The manga and this movie still gave her tragedy but it was heartwrenching because we KNEW that it couldn't have gone any other way. The story NEEDED to end with Hugo's death, whereas with the movie Hugo was just some dude that was just there to be a love interest.
Hugo in the movie wasn't fleshed out---almost at all. Alot of scenes that gives his character context were left out. Thats why some people who saw the movie didn't care for his character, which is a shame.
Great observation! That's how they used to draw Link from the Zelda games. It is one of my favorite anime styles.
I watched this scene when I was 3 and I remembered it forever. Now I'm 29 and just watched Alita movie not realizing I just watched movie adaptation of anime that scarred me. Real WTF moment.
Goddamm this stuck with me as a kid
I just can't wait when Alita battel angel 2 comes
This is awsome
From what I heard in the anime version after Alita had Hugo be made like her he went insane either way his life was over. Even if he got to the top he wouldn't be welcomed there and down below he had a bounty out on him he would've had to spend the rest of his life on the run. He would've ended up killing himself even if he had Alita with him she couldn't protect him forever.
Fun fact in the Canadian dub of the show Yugo was voiced by Eddie Glen who son would remember as the voice of Thomas from Thomas and the Magic Railroad
Didn't see the live action but did see this on the Action Channel Anime Saturdays...so long ago.
I couldn’t get into Hugo because he was evil he did change at the end however in the movie there wasn’t enough time to really develop their love relationship it was too fast but I enjoyed the movie 🎥
Joder , he buscado esta escena por diez añod quizás, lo vi una ves en un video de AMV in the hell algo así y nunca supe de que anime era, y ahora cuando salió el trailrr de la peli andaba buscando y me salió justo esto, rayos que suerte
At long last I found the scene from my mystery anime when I was 7 blew my mind that it took a live action movie for me to find this video.
This made me cry in the theatre.
An very sad love story, I watched this in 1997, great anime
I'm gunna try to watch this after the live action one
absolutely the best scene of the OVA, I cried :'(, but I prefer the spanish Yugo dialogue: I arrived in Zalem when we met and I did not know, thank you for showing me. Now I cried in the cinema :'(
So true! In french he says 'I reached my dream when we met but I did not know' which is essentially the same. Much better lines than english version anyway.
The movie makes Hugo slightly more redeemable.
I think the movie actually did it better this time! What a pleasant surprise
Greetings 2019 brethren and beyond.
After reading the manga after seeing this and the live action really broke my heart…. God damn…
2:36 Hugo stoned af
Igualitooo a la película!!! que vacan!
