And the verdict is in. Success!. I followed your advice and increased my front drivers side, tire pressure to 45 and within a quarter-mile it had reset. However, I would like to comment that I’ve had my EV6 only three weeks and the tire pressure was sitting at Between 30 and 31 psi for all four tires. So during this TPMS reset I increased the tire pressure of all tires to 36 psi. Everything is awesome.. I do want to say it’s cool seeing your EV6 with the steering wheel on the right side. That would be fun for me to drive. Thanks again for all your help and the video.
Thanks for the info Brian, my light came on yesterday as the temperature dropped suddenly, couldn’t turn it off until I over inflated the tyre!!! Back to normal pressure ow with not light on. Would never have guessed that was the answer. David

As usual an excellent video, thank you. I had exactly the same problem with a warning of low pressure on the front nearside wheel despite the pressure reading exactly the same as the other wheels. They were all set to 32 from the salesroom. However, I've just taken your advice....upped them all to 36 psi and the offending wheel to 45 and the warning has cleared. They all now are adjusted to read 36 psi and the TPMS is stabilised. I suspect that cold weather has played a hand in these warnings.
Hi Brian - looking at the 2022 manual on page 5 - 67, it suggests that any of the settings accessible from the Move switch button (the middle of the 3 on the left side of the steering wheel) are re-settable by using the 3rd (right) button in the same row. Does that not work for the TPMS? Seems crazy to have to over-inflate the tyres and/or visit a Kia dealer if you change a tyre!
I've had to change tyre pressure twice now. After setting the correct tyre pressure the alerts keep appearing for a few cycles. At about the fourth trip the alert disappears.
Hi Brian. The exact same thing happened to my car today on the same wheel as yours, so it looks like it may be either a faulty sensor or more likely a software issue.
Many manufacturers don't have individual sensors in each wheel, but instead it utilises the abs system to highlight a discrepancy the expected values as it rotates, kicking up an error. Not sure if Kia do though.
Thanks Brian. I have yet to see a TPMS warning on my EV6. However, I have noted consistently that the pressure readings on the dash are lower than observed when measuring with a gauge (and with the pressure set on my compressor when I fill the tires). Also, I use CarScanner to monitor both the PSI and tire temps. The dash readings are consistently lower than both the gauge and CarScanner. I don't know if all TPMS sensors do it the same way, but I have been told that they compare the RPM's of the indiividual wheels, and have observed in other vehicles that going over a "rumble strip" on a motor way (which theoretically should lower the RPM on the side that has done so) can trigger a warning -note the comment below that this is probably not the mechanism here. Another curiosity is that I note that if I've parked my car so that one side is in the sun and the other side is in the shade, this is reflected in the tire temp readings seen in CarScanner, so that theoretically that would result in higher psi reading on the "hotter" side.
Did you try going for the 36 that the placard said before the massive jump to 45? With the car reporting that you were 6 psi under. It is probably coded to require you to bring it back to spec, not just picking up 2 or 3 psi, that could just be the effect of thr tyre over heating.
I honestly don’t know. If you have the wheels changed the easiest way is to get the TPMS sensors transferred to the active wheels you have installed. Car will see no change unless it sees difference in tyre pressures and the warning comes up. In which case over inflate to 45psi and drive the car a short distance. I have a Niro EV, the same issue, incredibly annoying, my previous Sportage was ok, but have inflated the tyres (not to 45 which is way too high which makes even more ridiculous). Looks like I need to do this and Kia need to do a software update (many manufacturers have a reset option in the menu for instance).
It’s a real pain in the bum. Had to do it again this Winter as well. Don’t think i ever had to do it to my e-Niro. Had to do it for Wife’s Zoe last week as well but that was simply inflate to the correct pressure and it sorted itself out.
Great videos. I had a slow puncture for about 4 weeks up to about 6 weeks ago. Warning would come up on dashboard once tyre psi dropped below 30 psi, while pumping tyre & with the car fully on it would cancel the warning once psi got over 30 psi is . Eventually got the tyre fixed with a plug in the usual way for most tyres. I keep psi around 33ish......Irish roads are not the best so a little less then recommended helps with the comfort.
I got alert saying low tyre presssure on my KIA EV6 AWD Exclusive and it was given by KIA to me with 32 psi and I pumped it up to 36 on every tire and it helped no alerts on
Had the warning from the rear passenger side tyre. Pumped all to 36 and went for a drive for 10 minutes where my speed was 50+. Warning automatically cleared itself.
@@evodessey looks like I chose the right time for mine then. Shame they just don’t have a reset button in software to deal with it. Having to jump through hoops to clear a warning - after you know you’ve fixed it by setting the right pressure - is nonsense. Kia need to fix this!
Many thanks for this: I had the same issue occur with my EV6 3-4 weeks ago: started with one tyre showing a warning, then two and then three. Re-inflated each to 36psi which cleared 2 of the tyre pressure warnings but left me still with one! After checking through all the pressures again, the warning eventually cleared of its own accord a few days later. 🎉 Seems very temperamental and it left me scratching my head for several days: on my previous Audi, you could manually reset and clear the TPMS warning, an option that isn’t available here. I wonder if this could be related to a software bug?
Some Kia’s have a TPMS reset button. Would be nice if we had one. Could be a software bug. I agree it’s very temperamental and i had a whole year trouble free of anything like this. I have the November head unit software installed & i know quite a few functions are carried out in the head unit computer as well as maps & entertainment. Also some head unit updates have changed graphics in HUD & Binnacle so i would not be surprised if this was linked to software update 221004.

All my tyres needed topping up (they were ~32psi), and had my GT Line since March, so it’s good to be alerted to it - prompted me to invest in a portable compressor rather than rely on petrol station machines as well! - it’s clearing that persistent warning on one tyre once you’ve addressed the problem that’s a bit annoying! I really appreciate your videos by the way - been following for the past year since I put the deposit down on my EV6 (only waited 5 months, guess I was lucky!). Ambient temp plays havoc with the pressures so they read lower in Winter 1-5c. They were inflated to 36 in the Summer. Even though they were adjusted last year i still had to re-inflate to 36 again this Winter but it was slightly colder in November than last year at one point.
Sudden air pressure & temp changes trigger it but maybe the front right had slightly less in than the rest and the problem got amplified or the sensor is a bit off. Been driving it for a week now all tyres are appearing as 34psi (36 on the tyre gauge). Double checked tyre and nothing i can see but i need to jack it up properly to spin it to check. There has been a spate of them on Facebook groups & forums for the the last few weeks. Funny that i’ve been through last Winter and a whole year and never had one until now.
This is not necessarily a fault. All tyres loose pressure over time, which is why you should check pressures occasionally. Re inflate to recommended pressures before you get a low pressure warning. Incidentally the tyre pressures displayed in my EV6 exactly match the tyre pressure gauge. I guess there will always be some minor differences between different pressure gauges.

However, I would have thought the first thing to do when you get a TPMS warning light when you're on the driveway is to get out and look at the offending tyre just in case you have a puncture. There would be no sense in driving away only to find your tyre is at 5 psi and you have to get it home. Why do you get a warning when clearly your tyre is up to the same pressure as the others, or better? During freezing temperatures I put an extra two pounds in each tyre to compensate.

Not on my EV6 20 inch wheels,Max inflation pressure is 51 PSI,they are only on 45 from my house to the end of the road,a very short distance then reduced back down to 38 when the pesky warning goes off. You may be able to get away with inflation to 40 to get rid but I only get one opportunity to test this a year.
So the solution is to dangerously overinflate the tyres and then deflate them when the sensor finally figures out that just “1 point of variance is now ok to not trigger the warning light”??? Sometimes I despair at technology - over complicated to the point of stupidity. @@roydenjones7541 Thats good to know. I guess it depends on what your previous PSI level is that you are coming from. If you normally inflate to 39psi for carrying 5 persons it would probably be higher i guess.

I had this warning on my wife's EV6 and I just inflated them all to 36 psi, then drove for a couple miles and the TPMS warning cleared.
It’s good when it works the way it’s supposed to. Just wish it was consistent.

I agree the cold snap has caused a spate of these alerts & also on the new Niro EV.

If you mean pressing the OK button on the steering wheel when you have tyre pressure displayed in binnacle then No it does not work.

If is reporting pressure on the dash, there are sensors on the wheels. You cannot deduce that from rotation rate differences.

Yes i did bring them all back to 36 before the method that worked.

Given the spec says 36 and it was displaying 30, the car was reporting a genuine issue.

I agree. Some Kia’s do have a reset button to reset TPMS. Some in the comments suggest you only have to inflate to 40psi but it’s still a pain.
40psi did the trick for me a couple of weeks ago (still ok), bur as you say, a pain though!
