Long live classical Tamil language
TAMIL and its sister dravidian languages are native indian language. Sanskrit and Hindi are Indo- European brought to India from Anatolia and sanskrit inscription are in Syria much earlier to vedic period. So indian nationalism depends on Tamil and the Dravidian language and should be our national language.
According to respectable philologists, Tamil belongs to the family known as Dravidian. At least 85 languages have been recognized as belonging to this family. While the major Dravidian languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada are well known, others like Kota, Tulu, Gondi, Pengo, and Irula are not as well known. A Dravidian language (Brahui) is said to have been spoken in in the Indus Valley, way up in the distant north. Some scholars have seen in Elamite inscriptions in Western Iran traces of a Dravidian language. As one who has studied a dozen languages and whose mother tongue is Tamil I dare say that Tamil is one of the richest and most beautiful languages of the human family.
For more objective appraisals of a language one must listen to what non-native students of the language say about it. In the context of Tamil consider the following:
Max Müller, the versatile scholar of Sacred Books of the East, who has been much maligned in our own times for reasons both valid and questionable, noted that "Tamil is the most highly cultivated language and possesses the richest stores of indigenous literature."
G. U. Pope, who studied Tamil in great depth, wrote: "The great antiquity of Tamil, which is the one worthy rival of Sanskrit, is abundantly plain. The ancient grammatical works existing in Tamil and its wonderful metrical system, prove its assiduous cultivation for long ages.…. Tamil has a wealth of words which English lacks."
In Peter Percival’s view “No language combines greater force with equal brevity than Tamil, and it may be asserted that no human speech is more close and philosophic in its expression … than Tamil.”
The renowned Czech scholar Kamil Zvelebil that "Tamil can claim one of the longest unbroken literary traditions of any of the world's living languages."
Tamil is unique in structure, and abundant in literature. The works of a great many ancient Tamil authors continue to be studied and commented upon all over the world, though their traditional histories are often intermingled with mythology. Modern scholarship has been trying to make amends for it.
Like all dynamic living languages Tamil has been evolving over the centuries. Just as the English of today is very different from that of the days of Chaucer or Beowulf, the Tamil of today is not quite the same as the Tamil spoken in the era of Tiruvalluvar.
Changes in language result from at least two factors. People of new generations develop new worldviews and incorporate them in their speech and writings. Great writers and poets introduce new styles and expressions that enrich the language. Over the centuries a rich literary tradition emerged in the Tamil world. Themes in the abundant writings of Tamil authors, in prose and in poetry, ranged from love and war to sacred stories and epic narratives.
Interactions with and influences from other cultures and language traditions also affect the vocabulary of a language in significant ways. In the case of Tamil the most influential factor in this regard was Sanskrit in ancient times.
In the context of the question posed, most people speaking a language not their own will most likely have an accent, but not everyone.
