BUT if you (royal you, not you specifically) are not ready for it, just slowly start incorporating more and more vegetables to your meals and fruits to your snacks. Eventually you might get to a totally plant based whole food diet if that’s what you want, or you’ll find a diet that works for you somewhere on the way.
      I’ve also found mindful eating has helped me figure out what I really like and what keeps me feeling good all the way through my system. Maybe even journaling what you eat and how your meals make you feel. I tried journaling and it only lasted like a week, but that “failed” attempt has made me mentally take note of how foods make me feel, even if I’m too lazy to actually write it down. I mix up a sauce with soy sauce, oyster sauce, red chili flakes, sesame oil, and some tahini or peanut butter. make a big batch and eat it over three days.

      Personally for me and my body I aim for a handful per serving size.
      Combine this with some vegetables or fruits and you’re getting a lot of micronutrients.

      Some examples are magnesium, nuts are amazing at this, reducing the spasms we sometimes get after working out.

      Reversing diabetes is all about reducing inflammation in the body. Any type of restrictive diet only exacerbates stress/inflammation and as a result, diabetes. Walking, meditation, high water intake… think more in terms of adding rather than subtracting, and you will reverse diabetes. And get tested for sleep apnea!

    • @Love-eg2vf
      @Love-eg2vf Год назад

      @@eatwhatukiii2532 There is a 1 diabetic on here who actually did an experiment where he increased his carb intake dramatically, and found that he needed way less insulin as a result. Meaning, his diabetes improved. He was eating only high quality carbs though, such as fruit, oatmeal, etc. His channel is “Type one talks”. The idea that carbs cause diabetes or make it worse is nonsense. The blue zones, where people regularly live past 100, are 80% plus carb diets. Carbs are not the enemy, and low carb diets have been shown to backfire over the long term; when they reintroduced carbs, their blood sugar would go crazy because they couldn’t metabolize it properly. They key to diabetes reversal is reducing inflammation; a lot more walking and movement, a lot more water, better sleep (getting checked for sleep apnea is a big one), and adding foods (fermented foods especially) actually works wonders to reverse diabetes. It doesn’t work as fast as restrictive fad diets do, but it actually works in the long term. Any type of restrictive diet imposes a lot of stress on a physical level, but especially a psychological level. This could be a reason that people on those diets constantly preach about it and argue about it online. The ideal “diet” is one in which you just eat and don’t have to constantly think about what you’re eating. Flexibility is key, but it starts with implementing a lot of small habits.

    I'm 4'10" and 205lbs, but I 100% improved my health (even if I didn't drop much weight) when I focused on balancing my diet and making sure I was getting enough variety. Like, my cholesterol improved, my liver improved, my blood sugar and blood pressure and heart rate - literally everything any of my doctors were worried about improved just because I cut out the one thing that was really hurting me (gluten) and made sure I was eating a tasty variety of foods I liked and that made me feel good, like dried fruits and homemade meatballs, or tuna pasta salad made with gluten free rotini, tomatoes, olives, and flavored white balsamic vinegar!
    Nutrition is sooooo important and it's really important to disentangle it from this fear people have, socially, of looking like me, because if you (general you) don't, it'll hurt both you and me. I worry a lot about people less fat than me hurting themselves to avoid looking like me, when I'm fine! Fat, yes; disabled, yes; but I'm fine, I'm happier than I've ever been with my body before, and if anything, that makes me more aesthetically pleasing than being skinny and miserable could ever be.

    I realized this was the reason I didn't feel healthy despite being a good weight when I tried a machine that measures your antioxidant levels. My score was sooo low! No wonder I got sick all the time. I started eating fruit with breakfast each day since it was the meal I had the most control of. The more consistent I was, the more I craved fruits and veggies and the less I craved junk food. Feeling much healthier now!

    I think it’s important to note that weight loss occurs when you’re restricting your caloric intake. You have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. Also, the ingredients we put in our bodies matter because things can build up in the gut, cell membranes, fatty tissue etc. These foods can cause inflammation, chronic illness, and deteriorate the healthy bacteria your body needs

    Adding fiber to my diet was kind of a life changer. I hadn't realized I wasn't getting enough and adding more protein and veggies helped balance things out. Life Stress left me with an eating disorder because food tasted like sandpaper and if throw up thinking about eating. I was living on whole fat milk and fries alone just to avoid weight loss. So I got into nutrition Smoothies. And then had dental surgery and thankfully not being physically able to eat helped combat some of the sandpaper-nausea and left me wanting to chew. But I still struggled with what and how to eat. So I started to take the smoothies as an example of balancing my nutrition. If I'm hungry and have had a fiber snack/drink, and am still hungry, I can have something off my craving list like some cookies or popcorn. But most often, I have found my body is asking me for something on the nutrition spectrum that I haven't been listening to.

    I used to avoid carbs; not only I felt tired and agitated all the time but also I barely lost any weight. Now I eat a balanced diet with varieties of plant-based food, I feel energetic, and I don’t gain any weight!

    It's also true conversely for those who have a hard time gaining weight. I recently found out that I wasn't gaining weight because I was not eating enough meat. My brother got married recently and we have a tradition of visiting all close relatives as a family to get acquainted and having a meal. So I just ended up having a lot more meat than usual especially because its a polite convention here to keep serving more and more food into a guest's plate.

    Your philosophy has really helped me. I have a history of restricting but it just leads to eating more when I do eat and the more empty food I stack up on. I have been focusing on adding now (mainly protein and veggies) to my meals and I’ve felt so much more full and actually eaten less throughout the day.

    Mid-year, I gave up sugar, alcohol and carbs for six months, ate one meal a day at dinner, at a calorie deficit (although I did not aggressively track my calories), and I shed 35 pounds.

    I think a lot of people who are fat have had a chronic deficiency in protein and fibre. That's the case for me. The other things you should do are 50-60 mins of moderate intensity workout a day plus having good sleep. I'm gonna be finishing my exams and I can't wait to get started on cooking for myself. Medschool exams are tough 😢
