This actually sounds more like her own songs, the experimental hip hop is whats new. Songs like GIRL, Shibuyak, and a few others whose English names I can't remember, i.e. the more hip hop sounding songs, are the different ones compared to the rest of her music.
Uh, what? I've listened to a lot of her older songs, and most of them were way more experimental and hip hop. I'm pretty sure she didn't get more pop-ish until after she got more popular after me!me!me!. It seems like after she got more popular her record label or whoever wanted her to produce more pop songs attract more people and get more sales.
