I'm so glad that you are doing a video on this. I cringe whenever I see an African home inspired by colonizers style. It's usually overdone, gaudy and tacky to say the least. I love your style and am excited to finally find a designer to inspire my upcoming transitional / modern West African chic home decor project.
Spot on. ? Are u a interior design. If so do you do consultations

Thank you so much! We often take on the colonial practices of those who oppress us. This goes on across the African Diaspora! And while I can say that I will never try to visit Uganda, nor will I ever be allowed to visit there because I am gay, I do recognize that nation’s right to govern itself the way it sees fit. I don't agree with Uganda and Burkina Faso speaking for all African nations, but as a Black citizen of the U.S. I will leave that to you. I also hope that nations in Africa will refuse all future trade relationships with colonial nations that do not accept each nation’s decisions. And that includes RUclips.
which is terrible ...esp. when someone boasts about importing instead of using local.
I hate that gaudy style. Its so yuck and white washed.
🤣🤣🤣
