I love to hear and watch you play Mr. Keith. I see and hear your Soul when you play, and when I close my eyes, I see the smile of the 16 year old boy I knew when we were teens.
what a great idea to make this video. I very much appreciate all the details. Great to see you coming to similar results..... Thank you so much Kevin! Can't wait for your next original songs ;-)
Oh this instrument looks frustratingly fun. If only I could afford one of these (and add to everything I practice). You play it so effortlessly. I see where the 'cross over' left hand / right hand comes into this. Makes perfect sense given both are fretting hands. Beautifully done and perfectly explained walkthrough on how you've developed the sounds for lower and higher registers. Thank you!
Wow! Kevin, I am not a musician but I love (good) music, hence I follow you. This explanation is brilliant. If only our politicians could problem-solve as logically as you, we'd be in much better shape! Your vids def need to GO VIRAL!! Best to you.
Good stuff! I'm currently building my hyper small rig for my railboard and bass+guitar & keys/controllers. Will definitely take this rundown into consideration while i continue to hammer away at it. 👍
Thankyou for this. I made a "stick" to use when I had a really bad arthritic problem and couldn't manage my guitar. I am much better now and I think I shall get my stick out of the loft and plug it into my ambient wet dry looper rig... Subscribed.
This is an awesome presentation, Kevin. And man I'm really out of practice being in my music-head, but I always note (in my ear) your beautifully tuned compression in your bass. Just wanted to say that as it popped into my head (well ear). Musical Blessings li'l bruh! KB
Great video - I’m headed in similar directions. One thing I’m investing in that’s working out well is Neural DSP’s Quad Cortex. I’ve been able to find my core sound with just that box, but it also functions as a audio interface for my Mac, so I can exploit all that Live can do as well when I’m willing to carry my laptop. BTW, I recently did a capture of my Walter Woods amp which is eerily accurate. As you know, Emmett played through a Woods for most of his life.
Great question. You may be using Neural in standalone mode. to run more than one instance I have to use a DAW so I use Ableton Live. Once inside of Ableton I assign the bass side of the Stick to one channel and the melody side to another channel. I then open a Neural Archetype as a plugin in either channel. Hope this info helps. Thanks so much for watching my videos!
bro really just blessed my ears with that intro 🙏
Amazing walk through your sound and physical and software audio gear . Detailed yet simple! 👏

Great info. I'm on my 3rd rig.The struggle is real.
Love seeing such an in-depth look at your setup and recording technique. A true renaissance man!
Great video Kevin! Very useful to see your thought process and solutions.

Awesome breakdown. Thanks for sharing your practical considerations and thought process on quality of sound for a set of versatile rigs.
Thanks for the time & effort to share your rig! Great clear and concise video!
Thank you for watching and for the the kind words!
Sounds great as always and we love getting the insight on how to start with a great sound.
You. Trey Gunn and alphonso Johnson are great ambassadors for the instrument.
Truly this intro is an instrument of God!

Thanks Kevin! Great explanation.
Not only he can play Bass and Melody at the same time, he can also present his rig AND give a presentation on how to make a rig at the same time too.
I hope you actually record a “Them Changes” cover. That would be sick!

Thanks Kevin!
Fascinating.
Thanks for this!
Hope we get to hear that full Thundercat cover sometime soon 👀
Count on it! That will definitely be in a future video. Thank you so much for watching!
Shit I remember seeing g you the first time on the EMG RUclips channel yearssss ago… very cool video at your sound dude
The dopest.
Live is a great DAW, but if you need to use something live (pun intended) nothing, nothing, and absolutely nothing can beat Gig Performer.
Hey Kevin, do you still use the Railboard very much?
Hi, How do you run two different sessions of Neural at the same time from one computer- thanks

Do you ever offer consulting especially with using AL live
Thanks
