By the way for those wondering
First Mod: Republic at War
Second Mod: Awakening of the Rebellion (my favorite)
Actually it isn’t. That first one IS Republic at War.
Wait, do all the mods have the mandator design?
@@anakinskywalker9756 first one is Republic at War trust
@@StarWarsExpert_ I don't see it that much in other mods so I am unsure
@@jacobiebrian6977 oh yeah sorry the first one WAS Republic at War, i though you were talking about the mod on 3:10
I actually like the older design for the Pride of the Core from Republic at War more than the newer one. Looks abit more unique.
Agreed. Stands out a lot more among the many other SSDs
Yeah I agree
I like the older one because it looks less like a star destroyer or ssd
Yeah I think the new one looks like a Bellator
...and I thought Palpatine was out of the closet
I really appreciate the Pride of the Core design for how different it is. While the EAW Expanded Mandator is certainly more up-to-date, it's not anywhere near as recognizable and ends up blending together with the many other SSDs fairly easily. The Pride of the Core looks more like it really pre-dates the modern Star Destroyer lineage.
*The Yuuzhan vong Invades the Star wars galaxy *
Those Super Star destroyers still in service:
*Pillermen theme*
SSD: *prepare for trouble*
Viscount class: *make it double*
Centerpoint Station: *M A K E I T T R I P L E*
Mandators are mentioned in the Incredible Cross-Sections as being able to withstand attacks from one thousand Recusant-class destroyer
Somehow... that seems unrealistic/unproportional.
@@uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh Well, the Malevolence (which was probably smaller than a Mandator) was able to withstand over a day of continual bombardment from three Venator SDs (which are larger than a Recusant). That said, "withstand" doesn't mean that the ship remained in remotely fighting shape. It just meant that it was such a big hunk of metal that even after most of its systems were down, finishing it off without being able to detonate the power core is like trying to chip away an asteroid with turbolaser fire.
@@michaelramon2411 There's a big difference from three Venators to a thousand Recusants.
Perhaps it meant just a single salvo from the main battery guns of one thousand Recusants at once. That would still be very powerful, but more reasonable for a star dreadnought.
Wait... Are we talking Light, medium or heavy recusants? That would help clarify 🤣
3:05 Not just 15 years newer, but 15 years newer and with the benefit of the Essential Guide to Warfare describing its similarities to the Bellator which DID get an illustration.
Bellator technically is late type of Mandator II I think?
@@TheRezro Bellator's an offshoot of the family, But at the time EvilJedi made his Mandator 2 I don;t think the Bellator existed yet or the Essential Guide to Warfare that linked its design to the Mandator.
@@DIEGhostfish Agree on that.
@@DIEGhostfish yes, and EvillJedi's version is based on another obscure ship from Dark Empire, seen in wide shots, as a somewhat blurry background ship (seen only from side on)
I remember the website for that other Clone Wars mod, Imperial Assault II listed it under the command of Kohl Seerdon. Considering RaW uses a lot of stuff from that mod, I'm pretty sure they both use the same Mandator model.
I love you Eck
Who doesn't?

Top comment: wholesome Fkn content bois
Can we just talk about how awesome this name is?
It's so up-beat compared to the threatening "Executors" and "Bellators" of later eras, yet at the same time encapsulates that core-centric view of the Republic that would ultimately be its downfall. Really fantastic!
Elegant names are different to threatening names. The Lusankya sounds elegant whereas the Executor sounds menacing.
I want this in cannon in any form I just want a big star dreadnought used in the clone wars called the pride of the core
Pride of Kuat
Pride of the Core is easily one of the most badass names for a ship that I’ve ever heard of.
#askeck I really like both of the designs you shared here, thank you for always having our backs with the details and information on all things Star Wars, but I have to ask a question ... At 3:40 HOW are they that close to each other 😂 I'm getting some serious collision alert vibes outta that!
Great video Eck! I also really wish you could make more versus episodes, fleet battles, galactic versus, and factions compared! Those were the best!
There's nothing like learning about a quality dreadnought
Exactly. Your so right
It looks like a jungle combat blade🖤🖤
That’s facts

@@uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh this is to be written as fact

#askeck I've had this thought about the Clone Wars that's been bothering me recently about Jango Fett and the Clones. In Episode 2 it's shown that Jango was working against the Republic in some capacity when he murdered Zan Wessel to silence him after the failed assassination attempt on Padme, and tried to kill Obi-Wan before fleeing to Geonosis, but was also the genetic template for the clone army. I've been wondering why the Jedi didn't see these actions as a red flag and investigate Jango's activities, which could have tipped them off to the Sith's involvement in the production of the clones and their manipulation of the war. Do you have any thoughts about why this was the case?
Because Jango is a bounty hunter. He works for everyone who pays him no matter the job
@@thimovijfschaft3271 The important part is who hired Jango, and we know from the extended lore it was Dooku who approached him. If the Jedi had dug into this early and found out, it could have led to the discontinuation of clone production at a minimum, and potentially exposed Palpatine sooner than he had planed.
@@TheMaghorn that's kinda the whole point the movie was trying to make: the Jedi were freaking blind
New (ship) lore video: NOICE
No idea if he has ever covered it but seeing a Video on the Star Of Coruscant would be rather cool. Would be awesome to see a model of it for a Empire at War mod.
Pride of the Core is a very powerful Mandator 1-class dreadnought, it has a length of 8 km, and is easily capable of taking out Subjugator-class cruisers! It was introduced in 42 BBY.
Mandator design team hired a mon calamari who added in the curves.
“That’s crazy” -Coreyloses from eck’s soundboard
Wow, its been a while since i was this early.
Btw: the Pride of the core was in the Star wars republic at war.
Awesome Ship.
But easy to destroy. Get a Lot of Bombers.
Its like killing the musashi or her sister the yamato. Destroy or damage the engines with Bombers, then the shields. After that Take down the guns one by one.
Also Look Out for the photontorpedo pieces at the Front.
Keep your Capital Ships Out of Range of those.
It was so fun in the rare times when you would play as the CIS and have the malevolence go up against the PoTC. It was irritating though how often the Pride would try to retreat even after its engines had been destroyed.
Isn't that pretty much with any ship with killable hard points? XD I mean...I always go for the shields first and that way EVERYTHING damages it...then the engines
@@Kolonol1 yes thats the Idea.
The only Difference is that with Other Ships you May Use your own Capital Ships.
But for the bigger one you should Use fighters and Bombers.
And thats my only issue with Most republic at war mods. The cis doesn't have enough fighters and Bombers on board their Ships.
I mean those are droids they should have dozens of those. Nope you get two squadrons but the republic has 5-6 🙄
When you were showing the comic covers i thought it looked mon calamari.
That's awesome his work got onto a cover like that but also,
Idiots...
I'm not a fan of the old Pride of the Core. With the rounded and smooth edges it feels like it was designed during a period where fans didn't know what Republic ships would look like, so they mixed a Calamari cruiser with a Star Destroyer because of "republic = good, rebels = good, imperial = bad, republic becomes empire, lets mix some rebel and imperial aesthetics and make it into a ship".
I actually like the smooth sides. Makes it more versatile in my eye. The smooth edges would fair far better in atmosphere, if the mission called for it, then boxes and squares, as we see with Imperial vessels. This could make it use less energy in thrust trying to stay stable when assisting ground forces.....man, imagine it, that large thing over you, raining down or offloading massive amounts of troops.
dont forget this ship was built before the clone wars and wasnt actually built for war
Eck, Just to note that I live in Monterrey, Mexico, and on one of the Dr. Aphra cómics one of the cartoonists made our representative mountain “El Cerro de la Silla” Canon in the SW universe.
Actually the Mandator II is canon it's listed in the Star Wars: Complete Vehicles book which is canon and is listed to be able to take on 1,000 Recusant Class Destroyers.
It doesn't have an official design or model but it is indeed a canon ship and with the same information as it's legends counterpart for the most part.
Thanks,
I never knew that
I always loved it and yes I knew about from before I knew about empire at war.
Is coery going to put the pride of the core in fall of the Republic
cool! covering the pride of the core during pride month :-) though it could use some (or a lot) more color. if i had one i'd christen it the "screaming queen" that should terrify the enemy :-D
How does pride of the core relate to pride month in any way, shape, or form? Other than the fact that they both include the word “pride”
@@gthetroll494 It's a joke.
I wonder if the one Pride of the Core got left on the comic cover as a sort of Easter egg...
They need to make a modern empire at war game ;(
I hope it's as indepth as the Battlefleet gothic armada, that has to be the best Space ship game I've played.
Perhaps after EA's gets its mandibles off the license and scurries off back to its brooding nest.
@@pedrokantor3997 IIRC EA wasn’t able to renew their license from Disney. So we may see one, but I doubt it. I wouldn’t mind if CA created one.
@@strategist40k86 And I wouldn't mind if GW greenlite an Imperium at War.
@Thomas Smith eh...if they do that I'll have to disable the sequel era
Imagine a Clone Wars arc involving this bad boy. Seppies try to sabotage it while in construction.
If TCW used less expensive animation, we would have likely gotten something like this and more.
That ship is glorious!
Hey Eck, do you think the Star Wars galaxy (Post-GCW) could survive against a Reaper Harvest from the Mass Effect trilogy?
3:30 Can you imagine designing and BUILDING an entire capital ship just to show off your "capabilities" Hot damn! We have ppl trying and failing to produce a single CAR let alone a capital ship. Just crazy talk.

So I have an idea for a video. It was mentioned in the XWING series between Wedge and and I believe Horn. A fleet of ships that are constantly flying in hyperspace. Apparently it was suppose to be a massive fleet of pretty powerful ships. I can never remember what it was called but I think that a video about that fleet would be awesome
Katana fleet? Or it might've been the Alderaanian fleet. In the old EU when Alderaan disarmed, they loaded up a transport ship and a couple escorts with weapons, all piloted by droids, to be summoned back to Alderaan to protect them if necessary. In "The Bacta War" I believe they find one of the escorts hanging around Alderaan's debris field and it becomes convinced that Tycho Celchu is its mothership because he's using its IFF for his X-Wing as pride in his Alderaanian heritage.
@@davidmoses8958 I'm glad you knew that. I have never been able to remember the name of that fleet.
This looks epic
Thanks for the video
Good afternoon eckhart ladder even if i dont know you
It's visually based on one of the background ships from Dark Empire, meaning it does have at least some Legends origins.
Great video 👍
Can you do a starship ranking vid but for legends ships, kinda like the one live vid you did for canon ships?#askeck
Btw this is my second try
I really dislike the mandator design for the fall of the republic, I just dont really like that type of ssd except for the assertor, I would love to see what a modernized version would look like
“Evil Jedi”
Well that just sounds like a sith with extra steps.
lmao
It was probably used by "Woke" Jedi because Dark Jedi sounded racist.
Sith follow a code. Not every Jedi that falls would become Sith ie. Kylo Ren.
@@khinzaw77 Well that just sounds like Jedi with extra edge.
@@khinzaw77 Kylo Ren is just a Vader rehash, with Knights of Ren and Snoke's cult never being explained, until TRoS retconned them into being subservient and being a product of the Sith via Sidious. The difference in what Kylo's supposed to be, is too derivative to be distinguishable from the Sith.
Fantastic video as always
It's kinda funny if you think about it, a fan design ship that got so popular that people started to think said design was canon, to the point were it was actually made canon (even tho it was by accident/pure lazyness), it's basically a self made meme, lol
But I gotta say, that thing (imo at least) is ugly af, Corey and team did a great job making a new and (again imo) better model for said class and ship
No shame in that opinion. I too very much prefer the Fall of the Republic model. :)
would not be surprised if the siege ship from armada is the canon mandator even when the ship is called Onager-class Star Destroyer
Eck, thanks for all your videos explaining Star Wars, HALO and things like that. Your videos are dope
Also...
DOPE SHIPPPPPPPP
*_[the pride of the core, perfect for pride month]_*
Nope...none of that bullshit needs to be in star wars
Also in regards to lack of a canon (legends) design for the Mandators 1-3. I once asked Fractalsponge if there was an explicit "Don't make a visual for the Mandator" rule and he said "Well, I would have made one if they let me" or something to that effect. It's almost like ever since the introduction of the Mandator in that RotS Cross Sections blurb it's been a running joke at Lucasfilm/Licensing not to actually show what one looks like.
Technically we do know that Bellator was based on Mandator II, so...
@@TheRezro Yeah but "No actual Mandator" seemed to be a rule.
@@DIEGhostfish Who know? It is also entirely possible that it is pure coincidence. We surprisingly commonly not see stuff what supposedly was there. Like apparently Victory and Tactor did participated in Battle of Coruscant.
It reminds me of the old republic star of Coruscant...
What's the mod for the Venator style dreadnaught?
Hold on didn't he make a video in Eckstoo that featured pride of the core?
Poor doggo
Long live the corgi!
Gotta love all the blatant plagiarism in Star Wars these days...
You mean by who? Marvel always did have problem with that, same goes for Lucas and transparent "references" to other franchises in Star Wars. Or maybe you talking about classic meme babies blame Disney for no reason, as usual?
@@TheRezro Eh Marvel's only gotten worse as time goes on espescially post buyout. Seems american artists just can't make deadlines without cheating so they resort to hiring anybody who can hold a pencil... Leading to SNAFUs like that one Indonesian sliding in Islamist propaganda in an X-Men comic because he was mad a non muslim won an election as minor as a Mayordom.
@@DIEGhostfish They didn't. Problem of tracing is plague of the genre form at least 90's and you clearly don't know what you talking about if you thing that they hire anyone to do that. Like, you do know what editor is? Number of competent people generally dropped in recent years, as job doesn't pay too well and they moved somewhere else. There was always large number of creeps in this business. And they assumed that no one would care, so they rush work so they would have time to focus on tracing porn, like usual. The only problem is that Disney probably didn't noticed complete lack of professionalism there on time.
@@TheRezro C'mon man. Have you seen how much artwork has been stolen by the "artists" at Disney/Marvel over the past couple of years? Blatantly traced and stolen fan models/assets? I don't care if it's been an industry wide problem for the past few decades, doesn't make it any more correct to be doing. They've been getting way more egregious as time goes on. Eck's covered this topic in detail in several videos in the past.
@@cd5sircoupe As I said, it is a problem with the comic book industry. And yes. I did see tons of assets stolen by them before Disney become a thing, simply because Disney is not a factor here. Like how much assets Disney steal before that? They didn't, as such it make sense that they may be not aware of the problem. Especially considering tons of idiotic fake news about them, spread by braindead kids. And if you actually listen to Eckhart, he didn't actually accused them. So go away.
FINALLY! Some coverage on this awesome ship!
Hay does anyone know of a nadiri star hawk mod for empire at war ?!?

Can i change the models and animations of the empire in empire at war with down of war necrons and gothic armada necrons ships
Infinity solos
I played the Mandator on EAW. And its just as badass you think it is.
interesting, the design looks like a Hydran lancer destroyer from star fleet battles game system.
Ah, the good old days playing Republic at War... so many years ago. While the Pride gives me a lot of fond memories of crushing seppie fleets, I'll have to admit that it never struck me as in-line with other Kuat designs of the time. Call me a heretic, but gameplay fun aside, I only ever considered it "a pretty good model". To me, it never did it feel like it could be a canon Mandator design (Lucasfilm artists stealing fanwork aside). I very much prefer the look of the version from Fall of the Republic. Probably because I'm a fan of Ansel Hsiao (I even asked if he would design a Mandator someday), and this is basically if the Bellator (his original work) and Acclamator had a baby. In which case it would be a perfect fusion of the humpback SSD and the (pre) Clone Wars aesthetic that one would expect.
I was just about to mention that it looks more like a Mon Cal ship than a KDY design. I like the design but to me it doesn’t fit what it’s supposed to be if that makes sense. Nearly every KDY design is dagger or arrow shaped (with the exception of ships like the Nebulon B), while the Core looks more bloated and round. The only thing that gives off the KDY aesthetic is the command tower. That’s just my opinion though. Again, I actually like the design, just not the fact that it’s supposed to be from Kuat.
Oh early
Would have been useful if they used it against the Confederacy strongholds and mope up.
Best named Republic ship in my Opinion.
It’s named like a Halo ship, I love it
