"Overusing him" So, he was in the first gen games, was mentioned in the remakes of the second gen games for one very specific thing and you got to fight him too, came back in Black2/White2 for the post-game tournaments, came back properly in Ultra Sun/Moon (albeit and alternate version)... Meanwhile we also have Cynthia who was in the 4th gen games as the champion, returned in the Black/White as a post game trainer you could fight and in the tournaments, and was also in the 7th gen games. In Sun/Moon as well as Ultra Sun/Moon. So Giovanni's been in 11 games... as has Cynthia. 12 for the both of them if you count Pokemon Masters EX, although if I'm not mistaken, Cynthia has more alts than Giovanni. But please, tell me more about how a chracter who was in the first gen games is 'overused' when someone introduced in the 4th gen games has been used the same amount and has more alts in Pokemon Masters EX is apparently fine. I'm not saying I dislike Cynthia, by the way, just saying that the Pokemon series is more saturated by her than by Giovanni.
Only in Pokemon Masters EX can we get away with having our favorite characters wipe the floor against Giovanni by solo'ing a mega evolved Mewtwo Y, a Nidoking that has access to dynamaxing, and an unbound Hoopa all at once.
tbf, Giovanni says he can probably beat the kids but finds little point continuing the battle, and the kids only got to that point by removing Hoopa from his team. Still silly but even the game acknowledges Giovanni has the upper hand the whole time.
@SilverScizor753 Oh I know. I do love that's how they handled Giovanni and realistically Red and Blue were the only ones who actually gave him concern with a battle, compared to when Giovanni fights the gen 2 gang or when he fought the OCs. The writers were wise to treat Giovanni like the GOAT he is and being calculating with his plans and how to approach each situation. His run was satisfying. But I do mean that I love how in-game you can fight him with pretty much anyone you want as long as you have them. I was quick to solo him with just Wally for fun.
@@unofficialmeme5972 I honestly love how they've written Giovanni in this game, a conniving menace hiding in the shadows, messing with and taking advantage of the other teams but if you actually confront him, he's extremely powerful, iirc someone in Masters likens his strength to *Red's.* That said I do wish the gameplay reflected that because yeah you can stomp even the Hard version of that Villain Arc fight with anyone lmao
@SilverScizor753 I do agree with wishing it was harder. Story Mode fights for the most part are meant to be pushovers so everyone can easily access it. But damnit, just gives us a genuinely hard difficulty so it can be even more fun to challenge ourselves with it! Ah well.
Also he was always felt like he was always a step ahead, even if you manage to best him in battle, he won't push on. He sees no point in struggling in a fight that's clearly not in his favor, but just because his plan blows up in front of him, he's always thinking on the next big plan, always able to weasel his way outta being caught. He's just this calculated mob boss who not only was able to hide in plain sight, but also willing to team up with the player.
though not obvious or implicit I do hear some motifs that remind me heavily to other Villain teams, like 0:06 which sounds quite similar to N's Decisive theme, 0:18 with the background sounds which remind me quite a lot to Team Galactic, 0:25 which does sound most obviously to Team Flare and especially Lysandre's Decisive theme or 0:41 with the choir which reminds me of Rose. not only that, but they combined those elements and came up with an absolute banger. love you, PMEX composers
I have been waiting for a Giovanni theme of this caliber and holy crap I’m glad they waited this long. I have been listening to this over and over and notice something new I like each time!
This man went from having no theme, to getting his own theme in a remake of a game that he wasn’t in originally to not getting a theme in the second remake of his own game to getting THREE renditions of his theme in the mobile gacha spinoff. His music is just as unpredictable as he is!
There's actually design documents for USUM that shows the original idea for Rainbow Rocket was going to be that Giovanni was just a team rocket grunt that gained the ability to travel through dimensions and took up the identity of Giovanni, whereas the original would show up, stop him, and send everyone back to their worlds, vowing to become a trainer his son can be proud of.
even masters know that giovanni and team rocket are the penultimate final bosses of the pokemon franchise fun fact team rocket is the only evil organization who's been the main antagonist of a pokemon game beyond the generation they were introduced in. Team magma/aqua were only the main ones in gen 3, team galactic were only the main one in gen 4, plasma were the main antagonist in gen 5 (both black and white 2 where gen 5 games), flair were gen 6 only, team skull/Aether foundation were 7, team yell/rose were gen 8, and so far team star (if they even count) are gen 9 only, but team rocket were the main antagonist for both gen 1 and 2 and even got a small side story in gen 7 where Giovanni was considered the ultimate boss above the others and he still hasn't been stopped completely
There are a good bunch of these themes I'd kill for someone to expand. Not remix, but expand. This is the biggest example I can recall. A lot of the musical themes are going in way too much of a quick succession.
Oh come on we all know this won't be the FINAL battle with Giovanni. He's like Batman, they'll never stop over-using him
By the point he comes back the game will be dead
Giovanni is more like the joker. He comes back no matter what with some new evil scheme
@@catalyst539funny story this game is nowhere to be dead.

I think Cynthia makes more sense than Batman.
This remix is amazing, I just wish it was longer. Especially the part at 0:40 it’s criminal that it only lasts 10 seconds
I know right 😭❤️
Man, the decisive battle theme of Giovanni was already epic, this definetely brings up the idea of being the final showdown🖤🖤🖤

I CANNOT get over that harpsichord at 0:18
Literally the perfect final boss theme for Giovanni. Masters has the best soundtrack of any Pokémon game, no contest
Finally someone else then me says it!
And need I remind you it's a mobile game?
@@wikiuser92
We all know that. It doesn’t matter.
@@catalyst539 I specifically meant it as a compliment. That a mobile game can have this much effort put into its soundtrack.
When was it ever a contest?
Just when you thought they couldn't expand on Team Rocket's theme any further
After 1 year:

All Hail Boss Giovanni!
This guy is my favourite villain! Ghetsis is close second.
Final Battle!

So, there might be final battles against more characters?

Here we go again
We’re making it out of the Virginian City gym with this one!!
We taking Golden Rod Radio Tower with this one!
We’re taking over Aether Paradise with this one!!!

And this banger is going to be so short because it's going to be an easy stage to beat lol
It actually plays in a story scene too, according to Absol-utely’s upload of part 2
Final_final_2
I cant help but think of this theme combined with the three fairies of light them from Touhou
Team rocket is them definitive villains of Pokémon
Mewthree...
Leech Seed and Burn for the win
Still cant believe he beat that first try
Such a terrifying yet perfect concept for a "Pokemon" that fits with Mewtwo's movie backstory.
He beat it first try, which was supposed to be a forced lose
Dude’s insane
Glad we're all here
My friend sent this too me because my name is Giovanni
Banger theme
but honestly this year anniversary is so underwhelming
Epic!
