Yeah and especially in ZB this map isn't really the easiest to maneuver. I'm glad people are enjoying it, but I'll be happy when we get back to a map with ZB in mind.
You just have to change your pace. Cant be running around the map like a headless chicken, i been using cars more often and i like to turn the car opposite of where ill get out so i can use it as cover. Rinse and repeat ..
Your analysis mirrors my experience exactly, as a player with mediocre aim I’ve been using the tac with scoped ar. I do well until end game when I get grapple pumped by a good player and basically never win the fight. I’m going to start forcing myself to use the pump to get better, thanks for the video!
This map wasn’t built with zero build in mind since that mode wasn’t a thing, so the game is going to feel very awkward until the season ends unfortunately
Feels way better than the chapter 5 map. That map had nearly nothing between poi's. This map has tons of little cabins, shacks, trees and objects all over the place
thank you for this video. the marvel season was when i started playing so i don't any experience with the chapters/seasons before it so this chapter has been very challenging for me. i've been very confused on which weapons to carry and this video helped a lot; i just need to get used to switching to a spray after shooting with a pump and hopefully i stop dying lol
As a controller player with mid aim, I use the tac’. The pump hits harder but in ZB where the player is jumping around, I cant rely on it hitting the mark enough so bigger spread from the tac is better. Also not enjoying the season. Matches feel long and drawn out in ZB. Winning more games than my usual start to seasons but playing less bc it’s so dull.
This season is kinda ass half the lobby dies out hot dropping the dog pound leaving the rest of the lobby sometimes bare and mostly ai except the one lucky kid who won his drop
I'm an OG player and it kindof does feel like how OG played, it was very different back then as well. I had to take some time to learn how to play in last seasons chapter, got used to that now, and now had to like swap back. Took a bit but now there's still sliding when running, cars, bigger jumps etc
I get 2nd or 3rd in every fucking game I don’t understand what’s happening. I’ll have full health vs someone who just got out of a shotgun fight and I’ll still lose
Try playing solo reloads 😂 literally every time you finish a fight some sweat is shocking onto you out of nowhere in less that a nano second and 1 pumps you to the face
It feels so SLOW coming off of chapter 5 where we had nitro for an entire season.. then a jetpack and shuri claws and a chainsaw. Even with a grappler and some cars i just feel like i'm plodding along. And as someone who became accustomed to spammy melee weapons I kind of hate being forced to only use guns.. though i guess it's good practice.
Agree. I played reload a lot yesterday for xp for the battle pass. I don't normally play reload but to me it's far more enjoyable than this other stuff.
@@zmeiners It does. I'm an OG player, and I restarted fortnite in the prervious chapter. It felt like everything was on steroids with the jetpacks, Irorn man gloves/boots, claws, etc. And the transition to this feels so odd even for me. Like your "drugs/steroids" stopped working and you're no longer in this previous state
basically pump for close quarters fights (inside buildings, inside build fights etc) make sure to strife around the player to make them miss as many shots of their own shotgun as possible and make sure to carry a competent spray weapon to combo DONT STAND STILL, jump, turn sprint, make the enemy break their ankles to keep you in their screen, very few players are good enough to fight it let alone even expect it tac for open fields and range, the high magazine and spread means you can deal more damage while the enemy gets closer to you, there's no need to combo it as you are often 3 good shots away from winning the fight, strifing is just as important but make sure to be shooting while you do, contrary to the pump where you are only strifing to make the next shot easier
I'm a big fan of the tactical shotgun from playing Reload, and now I'm grateful I got some practice with it before this season. Going to practice more with the pump shotgun too and try to get better at quick swapping with my spray weapon.
For me, this season is all about rarity across all weapons. My preference is tac plus regular ar, but if I have a green gun and a purple or gold gun that serves the same role is available, I am swapping.
The shotgun I decide to run depends on the rest of my loadout. If I find an AR I want to run, I’ll use the tac shotgun. If I want the pump, I’ll run an SMG/sniper load out.
I'm new (6 months) and I cant believe people played Fortnite when it was like this! 🤣 I haven't once had a tense moment it's just so low intensity and sparse and wide open and slow, compared to modern day. But I get nostalgia is a powerful emotion.
@@sambowks😂blaming nostalgia is such a weak arguement. Better loot pool, better locations, higher skill gap, less cheesy items, etc. I don’t have nostalgia for Ch2, I literally quit the game during this time. This season has been better than all of Ch5 was for me.
@@iitypicaltylerralthough I agree with you, Sam has a point. I loved chapter 2 far more than 5, but returning to it, I can see where he is coming from. However, I am still enjoying this throwback season much more than chapter 5
This is my favorite season in a very long time. I enjoyed most of chapter 5, and I’m glad I got to experience each season. This OG season is such a breath of fresh air after all the medallions, OP items and Marvel stuff, though.
I use the tac more because I noticed when I use the pump I hit shots for like 30 or I whiff entirely. The tac is more consistent for me but I still feel like I lose to a player with good aim and a pump. I'm hoping to get better with pump and spray weapon tho because It really does make fights easier.
This season has been challenging, but it's mostly because I'm not used to switching from pump, spray back to pump... In reload the tack was always my first choice but I've been forcing myself to use the pump and just trying to remember to swap.. it's only a month long so hopefully I'll get the hang of it before its over...😂
Thanks for the tips ... Chapter 2 Remix is terrible!!! It should've been a 'reload' kind of map so people could choose to play it. Having it as the main map was a mistake (in my opinion). I know it is 'only' 4 weeks ... but for me it means 4 weeks without playing the game.
It’s OK, the people at Epic need a break too. The only difference between Reload and Remix is the size of the island. For someone who has never played Chapter 2, it’s a bit of a waste of time to learn these awkward weapons, and then it’s all over before it began.
For some reason the pump feels delayed? On every other shotgun / gun just tapping the trigger is enough to shoot but for the pump I kinda need to hold r2 for like half a second for it to shoot. It’s so wierd
Thanks EJ! Im forcing myself to use the pump to get better with my aim and movement but it can be frustrating at time as im dying a lot but got to do the hard stuff to improve so ill keep grinding. Second slot is ar then either a scoped gun a heal and mobility or shotty, ar, heal, mobility and cover item.
Question. Do you do like a quick L2 spam or something to get your aim assist / bloom to reset when you spray the ar? My crosshair gets wayyy larger than i see yours when i try to spray an m4
Hi Jake. Thanks for the video. Would you consider doing the same video for Reload? I see myself playing more Reload this season, and I’ve heard others say the same.
Jake, in chapter 1 OG a year ago, you said you preferred the tac shotgun over the pump, but this season it’s the pump. Out of curiosity, did anything in particular change your mind? I too prefer the pump in zero builds but just curious about your preferences
Appreciate the shotgun tips! So far I haven't really been enjoying this season at all because of how slow and barren it feels and I wasn't really understanding why I was losing close range fights I was handling better last season. Guess I either gotta grit my teeth and ride out this season or try my luck in reload 😔
Pump is a better choice this season than the past three easily. With all the guns this season arguably having a slower time to kill the fire rate of the pump isn’t as big of an issue. I don’t feel undergunned entering a fight with a pump shotgun this season.
I could be wrong but I always thought the gold and the purple tac how to tighter reticle. Thus a tighter pellet spread. I think that's why it makes it better than the green blue and gray
Newbie question: What's the reason for sticking to shotguns for close range when SMGs seem on paper to be better? Pump ~70dps, Tac ~120dps, SMG ~260dps. If they shred up close and are better at range than a shotty, there must be a point where they are the better choice?
Well a gray pump does like 180 to the head so the only gun that can compete with that on paper is the sniper and the regular AR is just better than the smg. I don’t use the tac or the smg at all.
You need to think of damage per bullet as well as opposed to just damage per second. A shotgun deals a lot of damage instantly and possibly kills someone that only had only 70-120 health left. With an smg you need to land maybe 3-4 bullets to kill them so that would take much longer. Full health could be a different story though.
@@bku9 I understand that landing 3-4 shots will take longer, but we are talking about an SMG with a fire rate of 13 rounds per second, so the time is a fraction of a second. If we consider a target with 200 health (full health and 50 shield), a common pump would need 3 hits (92 damage for all pallets hitting chest), a tac needs 3 hits (77 damage) or an SMG 11 bullets (19 damage per bullet) which is less than a second @ 13rps. By the maths the time to kill should be fastest on SMG, with less damage drop off over distance.
I always start off with the pump but end up dropping it for a tac. I tried swapping from pump to AR or drum gun, it doesn't feel right. If I am using pump I just need to switch to SMG. So I always switch to tac so I can carry either a Scoped AR, sniper, or bow, while using AR for mid range. I don't know what it is about trying to spray people down with the AR, maybe it's the slow fire rate and I treat it too much like an smg, maybe it's the pull-out time. Maybe it's a skill issue because once I swap to my spray weapon I don't swap back to my shotgun. So, while I like the feel of the pump better, I carry the tac so I can drop the smg, giving me a more flexible loadout.
Almost every end game goes down like this…player has Meowdas for heals, a car for mobility and a sniper…even with bunkers, they wait until favorable conditions, forcing me into open space…game over…2nd place…again…ugh…
loving the new season, and you summed it up perfectly, they are well balanced and you can do well with either, i prefer the tac and then a scoped weapon to go with it. You got to have real good aim to do well with the pump, but those that do send you back to the lobby super quick lol
Double pump works great in close range. Grapple, double pump, snoops drum, shield or scoped AR has been my loadout and I’ve been finishing more consistently this season than in the past. Seems like I get beat by people who have hired TNTina but I can’t stand her weapon so I generally try and get snoops instead. Snoop is horrible as a hired hand though because he tends to stink bomb me more than the opponents
yeah switch to back paddle remote, its night and day difference and if you get one with 4 paddles you can also map sprint to 1 which i find much better as well
I played chapter 1 but not chapter 2 back in the day so im loving it! Actually preferring the challenge of shields being harder to come by and using weapons ive never had before
I'm not as used to weapon swapping as I used to so i prefer the tac but i don't mind using the pump espicially the spaz version. Overall both are great but the tac is better for zero build
luckily i play a lot of zb pit, and love using the havoc and smg, so i'm going with pump and ar this season, soooo much fun having that meta available again! I also tried zb reload solos tonight for the first time and LOVED IT, had an absolute blast and i can see myself playing it a lot. Feel spoilt for choice rn with fortnite, massive W from epic. Look forward to watching you stream both over the coming weeks Jake. GGs
Totally agree. This map is so boring, if i quit the game it will be because of the boring map. No variety, just cabins and grass and shops. Nothing interesting at all. And I hate all the bombs and stuff. It just makes you wanna run from the fight rather than engaging in it.
That is my problem with remix. I'm used to the ch5 shotguns, and trying to use the pump has been difficult. I am going to do the weapon switch when using the pump shotty.
It’s snipers for me 🤦🏽♂️ I was good with it but now I miss most of my shots and there are people who are so good with it that you have to play a peekaboo fight from distance 🤦🏽♂️
purple and gold rarity they are pretty much equal, no difference, totally depends on your playstyle, in the open if player has very good movement the tac is better, in cover fights the pump is better. Blue, green or gray rarity the pump is better, the tac in those low rarities feels much more inconsistent for some reason, but I will take a blue tac over a gray pump.
I already stink even after playing almost a year and watching tons of vids on how to improve, can’t aim anything like others who seem to not be able to miss. And now, they make shields harder to get. Great. Time for me to find a new game.
As a new player I'm finding Remix harder to play than ch5, it requires more skill and experience. Duos is even tougher...Hopefully I will learn and improve from all this repetitive dying
I've had a purple and gold. They are in there just not as common as the higher rarity pumps. I see purple/gold tacs in the vault and some time the balloon drops mostly
First of all, what is this shitty bug where cars go up and fly around? Second of all, i am always the pump guy but if I find purple or gold tac over blue pump, i am gonna take it this season, feels pretty good and much better than silver/green tac. Edit: even you said it later in the video lol.
I didn’t play chapter 2, and I find the map very boring tbh. And I never find purple or gold weapons other than from bosses or killing other players. Very hard to find shields. I’m not very happy with the map, I think that’s my biggest disappointment so far. And the shop is sooooo boring now. I haven’t bought a single skin since chapter 2 began. And shotguns, well I’ve tried both but I’m more of a range dps than close combat player so I have a hard time getting used to it. I don’t have a preference yet.
As a player who didn’t play in chapter 2, this season has been the most difficult for me in a while. Thanks Jake for the tips👍
It’s a huge difference from chapter 5. Movement was bountiful and it’s so hard to find shied now.

This season sucks! All I see is barns and old crumbled buildings. Cant wait for the next season.
Totally agree. This map is so boring, if i quit the game it will be because of the boring map. No variety, just cabins and grass and shops. Nothing interesting at all. And I hate all the bombs and stuff. It just makes you wanna run from the fight rather than engaging in it.
Hopefully one of the remixed Mythic item will be mobility!
That is my problem with remix. I'm used to the ch5 shotguns, and trying to use the pump has been difficult. I am going to do the weapon switch when using the pump shotty.
I'm so happy to have pump back
I prefer the pump but I'll use the tac. I'll frequently carry both if I have the slots
I prefer Pump AR Sniper or Bogie Bomb cover item mobility or Healables
I'm still a little inconsistent with my aim; purple/gold tac would be my choice.
Can u do a settings video?
Scoped AR, pump, smg, utility and heal for squad and trios..
Ther is a known bug in the drop rate for the purple pump hence why it is everywhere. It isn't supposed to be so prevalent.
If I’m using the burst , I’ll take the tac , any normal spray gun & I’ll take the pump
I think the purple and gold tac have a smaller pellet spread than the lower rarities
I like that there is less mobility. Makes the game more chill to play
It’s snipers for me 🤦🏽♂️ I was good with it but now I miss most of my shots and there are people who are so good with it that you have to play a peekaboo fight from distance 🤦🏽♂️
Just used the code evolve jake to get my venom skin and season 2 remix battle pass!!
Let's gooo team Jakeee 💪🏼💪🏼
Greeting from Spain 🇪🇸 🇪🇸🇪🇸
purple and gold rarity they are pretty much equal, no difference, totally depends on your playstyle, in the open if player has very good movement the tac is better, in cover fights the pump is better.
Blue, green or gray rarity the pump is better, the tac in those low rarities feels much more inconsistent for some reason, but I will take a blue tac over a gray pump.
Skill being the difference maker makes fortnite fun.
I will be playing 80% or more of the season in Reload. BR is good but the weapon selection for me is severely lacking in comparison.
The most fun I have had since Ch3.
Pump unless trios or squads then tac
I already stink even after playing almost a year and watching tons of vids on how to improve, can’t aim anything like others who seem to not be able to miss. And now, they make shields harder to get. Great. Time for me to find a new game.
As a new player I'm finding Remix harder to play than ch5, it requires more skill and experience. Duos is even tougher...Hopefully I will learn and improve from all this repetitive dying
This season feels sooooo slow 😢
What's everyone's favourite loadout this season?
Purple pump spawn rate is satisfyingly high 😚
loot is so buffed this season😂
Sweats are in heaven once again yay!
Does it matter what the stats of the shotguns are when we play against bullies with aimbot...like you (yeah it's obvious
😮
Wish we had iron sights
In comparison to last season the shotguns suck. Have to be crazy close. I’m getting wrecked by smgs.
Since people tell me I have no tact, I’ll use the tact shotgun. 😂😂😂
The answer is always the OG pump
I like the tac shotgun
Isn’t blue is highest rarity of tactical shotgun we have atm lol? I feel like I’ve never even saw any tac shotty higher rarity than blue
I've had a purple and gold. They are in there just not as common as the higher rarity pumps. I see purple/gold tacs in the vault and some time the balloon drops mostly
I've really been enjoying chapter 2 Remix. The map is gorgeous and the guns are pretty fun.
I’m a controller player and I had the perfect settings and was playing great until they nerfed the aim assist again now I’m back to being a bot 😢
First of all, what is this shitty bug where cars go up and fly around? Second of all, i am always the pump guy but if I find purple or gold tac over blue pump, i am gonna take it this season, feels pretty good and much better than silver/green tac. Edit: even you said it later in the video lol.
Anyone else just not missing weapon mods at all?
I didn’t play chapter 2, and I find the map very boring tbh. And I never find purple or gold weapons other than from bosses or killing other players. Very hard to find shields.
I’m not very happy with the map, I think that’s my biggest disappointment so far. And the shop is sooooo boring now. I haven’t bought a single skin since chapter 2 began.
And shotguns, well I’ve tried both but I’m more of a range dps than close combat player so I have a hard time getting used to it. I don’t have a preference yet.
Pump ftw
Was having much more success with the pump
I hope aim assist goes back down to what it was last szn because I can’t hit anything now😫
