Here's a restoration testimonial for you. I've had a 1997 f250, 7.3 since it was born. It now has 438,098 hard miles on it. If I were to buy a new truck every 5 years, it would amount to a new house. Think about that, over $300,000+ dollars saved over the last 23 years. P.s. She still fires up every morning, with minimal blow by.
@@guymann4016 That's my only complaint against my 96 F350 4x4 CC. You watch your kidneys bounce down the road in front of you at times. Loaded it is fine. I don't care too much about speed. I was grossing 29500 one day and some hills were a little embarrassing. I don't care, I laugh everytime I see a new one. I have way less in mine and it is not even 125000 miles yet. It sets more than it is used obviously. That's why I refuse to update.
Bill and his team did the full 6.0 dealer proofing on m '07 over a year ago now. Since then I have added another 100k miles to the truck. Not one issue since Bill's team worked on my truck. I fully agree with Bill: Get a 6.0 (05' to 07' only) and have the FULL dealer proofing done (even better: buy a 6.0 directly from him - and already dealer proofed).
I just want to tell all viewers that just 3 weeks ago I picked up my stock 2006 F350 from Bill at powerstrokehelp. I could not be happier in the performance and all around feel of my truck. With 107000 miles my truck blew a head gasket on I95 in virginia and I immediately called Bill. He called me right back and helped arrange my truck to be transported to his shop. He does everything he says with the parts and faster then he told me it would take. When I picked up my truck EVERYONE was amazing with their southern hospitality. Bill is a busy man, along with Scott they gave me all the time I wanted explaining each and every step done and parts included. On my way down to my new home town of Ponta Vedra Fla I could not believe how different the truck performed ( better then new is a understatement with 65 more horsepower from his parts used and tuning) and not to mention almost double the fuel millage then before problem. Bill and his guys ARE THE REAL DEAL!! He does what he says and his trucks turn out how he tells you they will. Thanks POWERSTROKEHELP!!
Matthew gilbert ..wich phone number did you call to get in touch with Bill..reason why I ask is because I have tried to call the number they show on their videos and I have never got anybody to answer the phone
I am going through this very situation now Jan. 31, 2021 with my 2006 f350 6.0, 8 ft bed super cab with 133,000 miles on the clock. Last week it went tits up on me in a big way. Started out with white smoke out of the tail pipe then a rolling huge blackish grey cloud like a sinking battleship. Had it towed from my home to a local diesel shop and I was told I need a new engine to the tune of just under 20k. So what do I do now? When the truck was running I loved it, did everything I needed like towing my boat and my five ton trailer with what ever I put on it with no problem. Nice and roomy for the dogs in the back seat too. I thought about down sizing to a Subaru Forester, take that 20k and put a nice chunk down on it. I have a 1984 Ford F250 two wheel drive that I recently totally rebuilt with the only old thing on it now being the paint. I live in snow country so a solid 4x4 is mandatory just to get out of my driveway. That new Forester will come with payments and most likely increased insurance costs. I am retired and comfortable but not Mr. Moneybags. I have the 20k and not real wild about having to let it go but life happens. At 71 years old how much longer do I have left is something to think about too. The old Ford with the 460 will pull what I need pulled but when it comes to snow and ice forget about it. I don’t drive much now that I am retired except to go to town 40 miles away and back every few weeks or so and fishing during the summer months. Body wise the 6.0 is in pretty good shape, no rust or major damage and I have had the transmission serviced every 60,000 miles and I was told that it was was in good condition, no chunks in the pan or signs of excessive or any wear for that matter. Just had the u joints checked and replaced as needed, new tires installed too. So I asked myself do I want to keep it or let it rot out in the back 40 or do I fix it? I decided to fix it because it is worth it to me. Part of that 20k is going to replace the air conditioning that went out two years ago so there is that too. The only thing really wrong with the truck on the interior is one of my dogs ate the center console removing the cloth and foam. Never really tried to get it replaced though I should if it is possible. This was my thought process flawed perhaps in some aspects but I really do like my truck. The new engine will have all the upgrade goodies required to last me until I no longer need a truck. Take it for what it is worth but I agree with the idea of restoration over going into debt. Great video and good luck out there. Update on my truck So I had the engine replaced with one that has the upgrades such as the o ring heads, studs, shorter push rods built by Diesel Engine Machine Technologies out of Belgrade Montana. A new Ford Turbo was also installed. Of course there were other things that needed attention as I mentioned like the air conditioning system. One of those was the front end components such as ball ends and steering damper, the damper I had previously replaced but a new one was due and the way to go at this point. Out the door it cost me just under $23,000.00. The shop that did the engine swap and other repairs was Coldsmoke out of Livingston Montana. The initial problem was an injector tip broke off and it all cascaded downward from there, I highly recommend replacing them at least every 100,000 miles. After all is said and done I am happy with the decision to save my truck. I miss spoke earlier about my trailer, it is a 10 ton unit, a very handy item if you own anything like a John Deere 318D skid steer or Ford 3000 tractor if you ever plan on taking them anywhere. Yeah the old rebuilt 1984 Ford could pull it but it would not be fun plus no four wheel drive. I should have found a 4 wheel drive truck to rebuild instead of the two wheel drive one but what is done is done. A decision such as this takes some thought about what you need vs what you want, in my case I needed my F350 back up and running. I live in Montana quite a ways from town and during the winter up here you need a solid four wheel drive vehicle and one suited to your needs.
Mr. Hewitt, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and you have helped me countless times with my 99 F3 50 with a May build dated(The good connecting rods as you know).... I don’t trust anybody to wrench on it except myself. I’m not a bad Shade tree mechanic if I do say so myself, being a lifetime heavy equipment operator. Regardless, The old girl is starting to yawn a bit....And there’s some mechanical jobs that are beyond my expertise, when the time comes, you are the only person but I will ask to restore this truck for me. I keep feeding the piggy bank and when it gets fat enough yours is the only phone that I will ring; God willing you’ll except the job and I’m not even going to ask how much because with you it doesn’t matter. Thank you for all your years of videos that has kept his truck running like a clock for me. God bless you and your family sir.
I have had two 7.3’s. Great engines. Recently did something I swore I’d never do. Yes I bought the dreaded 6.0 in a 2005 E350 cutaway. Motor was remanufactured in October 2016 by Ford. Approximately 50,000 miles ago. Drove it from Atlanta to Chattanooga then back to Atlanta. On the way back to Chattanooga the transmission completely failed. Having it rebuilt right now. Found this site AFTER I put it in the shop. They are upgrading with heavier clutches, torque converter and turning the line pressure up just a little. Make no mistake, I will be a faithful follower of this site. Glad I found this.
I live in the Yukon and have a 2005 6.0 f350 crew long box 4x4. It has 278,000 miles right now, and just got new gaskets, oil cooler, studs. It’s got egr delete, 4 inch straight pipe (no emissions here) and ficm update, and all others needed from factory. It runs real good, and is a lariat, so it’s a nice ride. It’s got me convinced to go the restore route if it finally fails all together, but until then, I’m going to do my maintenance and keep on rocking. Great video and thank you for keeping these great trucks a good option for people who work hard for their money.
I think the biggest issue is how do I insure my 200K miles 6.0L that I just dumped $15k plus into it. Like if it gets totaled a week later I'm screwed and that $15k is gone. The insurance company is going to maybe give me $5k for it.
Save your receipt the insurance company may give some consideration for that money spent, maybe not all of it, just like when you put a camper or something on it.
This is true, I bet bill could research that a little and put that info in his sell vids. It would help his customer base make an informed decision. I know it would help me.
You have to buy it back from the insurance after they totaled it. Get another truck and swap it over. Insurance is a big problem with older vehicles for sure and I have dealt with that with my older Mercedes. The rate is high to start with and when something happens they don’t want to cover anything.
Exactly the issue i have my insurance even called me to tell me they think its dumb to have full coverage on a 99. Never thought of it before they called honestlu
I gave 77k for my 2020 Platinum F350 SRW 6.7L. Still love and drive my 2005 F250 Lariat. Ya'll rebuilt it 3 years ago. It will be my son's come April. Thanks
Inspiring channel! I'm just a farmer and contractor but I love the passion here and I just bought a bulletproofed 6.0 and am doing the unthinkable by selling my IDI 7.3 because of the Powerstroke industry that has leaders like you. Even the 7.3 has problems if not maintained, my tenant just did head gaskets on a tuned up 7.3 PS (needs ARP studs just like 6.0) and ALL the newer trucks are ungodly expensive with hidden issues that come out from Fiat/Allison/Ford so I applaud you.
Ive owned my 6.0 for 8 years now, it really has been an fantastic truck. Ive put the basics in it, but once it was up to snuff ive had zero complaints.
I own an 07 crew cab long-bed lariat. Best truck I’ve had. When it’s time I will do what bill says. The new Aluma-duty emission control water in the fuel def system failure is way more expensive than to fix my 6.0 and still last another 10 years. Bill you the man brother good shit.
Love my 6.0 170,000 miles just doing all the upgrades. She never missed a beat, and now never will, buy once cry once. Still cheaper than a new truck by far and no emission problems later. Do Your Maint. On time.. simple
Yeah I bought new because I didn’t have a truck to start with but once mine is paid for I will be doing things like this to keep it going. It’s always cheaper to keep her.
@@thomasbarlow4223 I had to fix/repair my 6.0 for what seemed at least once a month the last 3 years of ownership. I owned it for a total of 5 years and it had trouble making it to 205,000 without putting almost $15k in repairs/upgrades to keep it on the road. I sold it and bought a 6.7 and haven't looked back. I think maybe you've been misinformed about newer diesels.
@@chadleonard2759 I agree with you. Only had to buy a set of tires at 50k miles. At the rate I drive my truck it’s going to take 16 years to get to 250k miles as well.
My 6.7 PS is now paid for. Use it for towing my 12,000lb camper. If I every have problems with the 6.7, I hope you are doing rebuilds on them. Thanks for the Vids.
I've got a small house on 30 acres out on the High Plains, well away from the big cities. A new truck costs more than my house and land. The payments are almost double my mortgage payment. I'll stick with my older SD. Why the hell are new trucks so much more expensive than the older ones? There's no way an average guy like me can afford one anymore.
Shut the fuck up. You can buy a base Powerstroke for $45,000 with rebates that Ford offers regularly. That is a BARGAIN. It’s not Ford’s fault you want leather, a fancy sunroof, 40 speakers, and massaging seats. Trucks are cheaper than ever in the history of Ford Motor Company but everyone wants the fanciest model to impress their neighbours but bitch at the price. Unbelievable.
@@jass7981 Why, exactly, are you such a spaz? $45,000 is still a LOT of money that the average non-idiot who doesn't want to be in debt can't afford to spend without a lot of thought. Nobody said anything about top tier trim packages except You. MainGun explicitly states that the cost of a new truck is more than the cost of the house he lives in, on 30 acres. The cost of a new truck to him, might be equivalent to You paying 400k for a truck. Understand?
Yup, got my early 99 7.3, just turned 200,000, rusty under side from previous owner but body in fair shape for Minnesota. Just a loose pinion bearing so far, always starts and runs though.
My 2003 6.0 dropped a lifter and wiped a camshaft at 273k miles and I put in an 05 that bulletproofed with orirged heads, new Ford injectors, Johnson hylift HD lifters, main seals, regulated return and external oil cooler with BD7309 oil filter. Truck runs like a dream now.
Great video, Bill. I was hoping you would repeat what you said on the "A MORTGAGE PAYMENT!!! ON A TRUCK!!!!!" video that I can no longer find for some reason. I loved that video with you giving the scold-down. LOL
I don’t consider a truck with 200,000 miles high miles. I guess you’ve got to consider how the truck was used and maintained. Bill is a good man , a real strait shooter . Thanks Bill for you do .
I have an 05 F350 XLT dually and 03 Ram3500 Laramie 5.9 6speed. As much as I love the torque of that Ram especially when pulling 25k+ that 6.0 just keeps making me want to sell it and give Bill a call to give it the attention it deserves. What a beautiful daily driver it has been.
Same thing happened to me with my mag hytec rear diff cover on my 02 excursion 7.3 diesel. It was puking diff oil out the breather tube. I put the banks rear diff cover on and haven't had a problem since
these guys at Powerstroke Specialty know their trade..no BS, just upfront knowledge and good craftsmanship.Been there, walked thru the whole place.Happy customer, they did me right..A++++
I had no idea where GA was on the map until I moved here from the west coast a few months ago. You'll see my 05-6.0 sooner or later for this. It runs like a champ at the moment but I know there are probably issues looming
I have 2006 f350 king ranch dually with 4.30 gears i bought in 2010. I needed a truck that can haul and pull allot of weight. 24,000 in weight most of the time. The truck pulls great but keep blowing the turbo. 2019 had 95,000 on it took it to a diesel shop and said need a tough work engine put 1,000’s into the engine. I have been very happy with the way it runs now just have the exhaust heat to watch and oil gets into the 240 range every hot day pulling hills do my best to not push it to hard around 55 or so on the hills. Have 105,000 on it now so we see if it payed off. I been watching these videos buy powerstroke help and had some idea of what I needed done..New truck was 85,000 to 90,000 so it is allot cheaper if the truck keeps running. I change oil every 3,000 and run the friction additive in it, we love truck looks great inside and out.
I have a bulletproofed 6.0, 152k miles. It's been flawless and I just brought a 8336bh Rockwood Signature, 11,320 lb gvwr. My issue is, I never fully 100% trust the 6.0 . I have been tempted to get a 2021 6.7 F-350, but like Bill said, is it worth the money for a new truck. Maybe one day I'll make the 1300 mike drive to GA to have Bill re do my 6.0
My 2007 F350 (longbed crew cab FX4) was re-worked at the real Bulletproof Diesel in Arizona. The whole 9 yards. It's not a daily driver and I keep it garaged and out of the sun. It's still showroom and besides the Bulletproof, bone stock. I have family all over the country and I don't fly. It's been on countless cross country trips. I keep the oil clean and use only Lucas Magnum synthetic CJ4 oil, keep the trans oil spotless, and even change the axle and transfer case oil. I'd trust it driving to Mars! 175,000 miles so far and still runs and drives like new. Bulletproofed 6.0's are WAY better than the 6.4 and NO DEF! If you are closer to Mesa AZ, bulletproofdiesel.com/
I have an 01 that I bought new 192,000 miles now. I’ve replaced the glow plugs and one injector. Still runs like new. The only annoyance I’ve had is the fuel valve on the back of the fuel bowl. Leaks down the valley.
I get a new diesel about every 2-3 years once they hit 100,000 miles they only depreciate about 15K. I actually use it everyday for my business towing a 15,000 lb trailer. Also I get lariat powerstrokes for about 62k list and they have way more options than a 05 king ranch, even new XLTs have more options than those. You put all that money in a 05 6.0 you will NEVER recoup the input cost.
These trucks are beasts! I have an Early 04 F350 4x4 SRW Lariat w/ 409k miles. At 250k had to put in new 06 motor, previous owner dropped a nut in a cylinder (I'm surprised it went almost a 100k with it in there) . At install had it bullet proofed- head studs, BPD egr cooler coolant filter , etc. At 375k new heads (long story). Only recently had standpipe o-rings fail. A few sensors here and there, which is to be expected with the type of abuse I put this truck through. Great truck , over the 11 years I owned it I've put $40k into it including what I paid for it w/177k miles. I'm sure I've got another 200k+ on the motor and who knows how long on the chassis.
Right on brother!! New trucks are beautiful and fancy, and a bit stronger… but i would NEVER pay interest and loose large sums of money just for a pretty vehicle. I absolutely love my old 7.3 cab n chassis, and i dream of saving the cash to restore my 04 PS pickup. Keep up the great work guys!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I have a relatively low mileage (95k) 7.3. I’m going to refurbish. My only real issue is mild/light frame rust. No body rust yet. Just installed 2 post lift and will see if I can get the cab off.
7.2% interest... couldn’t have beat up the sales guy too bad. But honestly what a great comparison and deff want to make it by Bill’s shop someday. And just to add my unnecessary opinion, when I watch these videos one thing that always comes to mind is how to insure a vehicle that blue books for 12-14k but you have invested nearly 30 when you have it running right. Would love a segment on how to properly negotiate an insurance policy for such a situation. Thanks again and keep up the quality work.
My 05 6.0 runs like a Top because I take care of it. I Bullet Proofed the EGR Cooler at 42,000 miles, ICP failed at 55,000, and the Turbine Hose blew off at 60,000. No other issues. None!
All the thumbs downs are probably 6.4 owners. I own one of the jeezless things myself, but Bill's got a good point. Fix what you have and save a shit ton of money. The 6.0 can be a great truck with the upgrades that Powerstroke Specialties can provide. Unfortunately I don't have that option, so I'm swapping a 12 valve Cummins into my 08. Stay safe and keep Powerstrokin!
That’s exactly what I think too. Buying brand new is only good for the newest electronic products added in. But the more electronics you add, will cause more problems in the future. My 06 F350 only has 117k and I love it. I do want to some day take it to you for the restoration that will go 500k more miles. It might even out live me after your restoration. To me, $15k is a whole lot better than $82k. And I bet you dimes to donuts mine will last longer than that brand new one. I’m sold on your business. Thanks.
When it comes time for my 06 f350 6.0 to need a rebuild I'm coming down from CT just because of this video lol. Love it. I'm doing what I can to delay that as long as possible mind you
I can attest to what Bill is saying. I drove my 2006 f250 from California to have Bill dealer proof my truck several years ago and I have had zero issues with it. I tow a heavy toy-hauler with it and it pulls like a train goin up steep mountains.
I like it! I have over 500k kms/300k miles on my 2006. Love the truck and it is pretty much OEM under the hood. I see this in my future but know a guy who is a little less expensive, he is typing this right now ;)
6 years ago I paid off my 7.3, a year later I spend $13.5k on a new ATS trans, GTP38R turbo, FASS, and did the valve cover harness and fuel pressure regulator maintenance. It was basically the same thing as another 4yrs of payments, but it was cheaper than buying a new truck. Spending $15k to basically do the same thing on a 6.0l truck seems like a no brainer. That $15k includes a frontend rebuild and NVH stuff too I gather. Heck, I'm resurrecting a low mile 6.4 F-550 right now using a V10 because I need a second truck.
I sold my dad on this set up. He’s now the proud owner of a 2005 F350 that someone else just wanted to get rid of. We got new head gaskets, arp studs, oil cooler, lifters, turbo cleaned, injector harness and a few other things replaced. Now he and I are taking our time replacing the suspension, steering and brake components ourselves.
Not to mention insurance will be more on a new truck. As well as registration (at least in Arizona) will be $1800-2000 per year vs $180 per year for my 2006. Its really expensive to drive a new truck.
Assuming the vehicle has 200k miles on it. Assuming PSS does the work for $15k. Assuming the truck then goes to 500k miles. That .05 cents a mile. Pretty low price for what is done. I know. Mikey (and others) did my truck three years ago. Drove to PSS from Oklahoma. Only one problem since then (not their fault) with the oil cooler clogging up with (I believe) stuff left in the cooling system from ANOTHER time the oil cooler clogged up from (I believe) using Ford gold coolant. That coolant has silica in it, which (I believe) cause the oil cooler to clog after the engine got really hot. Anyway, PSS does a great job!!!
Totally make sense all what you said Bill totally agree. I hope one day I can go buy one of you trucks. Thanks for all you videos about tha 7.3 by the way.
2006 f350 6.0 poweratroke 144,000 miles spend roughly $18,000 to get to those miles. 2016 f250 6 7 powerstroke 143,000 miles $280 in repairs plus oil change and fuel filters . Has started every time i hit the key.
Hi Bill, my dad sold his 6.0 back in 2011 with 368k miles. BONE STOCK other than the 5th wheel hitch in bed. 05 cc sb f250 2wd. Only issues was a fuel regulator stuck, a high pressure oil plug blew and the Crank Position Sensor went bad. Thats the only issues it ever gave us. What do you have to say about it?😁 It was an awesome truck, rode good and had good power and i loved the truck. My dad sold it still running and driving great. I was 10ish years old when he sold it so I couldn't buy it from him or nothing. Someday I'll have a 6.0 or better yet, a 7.3 with a manual trans
Perfect video for me. 198,000 miles and paranoia is setting in. My van is perfect for me so I want to keep it but definitely don't have $15k in cash. Is there a monthly process I can follow to "dealer proof" my van? Say I have a $500/month budget how would you go about it?
So a few things, I own a mechanic shop, I "specialize" in powerstrokes, I owned the same one for 16 years, I have own a dozen of them, I cannot compete with his prices and quality, I'm pretty sure no one can. He is set up to do one job and he is set up very well. I just sold my 6.0 to fix some economic damage done during corona virus, I will be back to normal sometime this year, my question is he is selling 6.0s for 30k, which is reasonable considering the work, but I can buy a really really nice low milage 2011-2016 6.7 for 30k, I'm either gonna buy a 6.0, a 6.7 or cummins swap my 6.4. But it's a hard decision.
My brother owns and operates Rob's Fleet Service Northwest and is probably the best on the west coast with 6.0L Ford's. I keep wondering how many more are left on the road that haven't had heads and been studded
In short, I agree with you. I don’t and have never owned a power stroke. I refuse to buy a new or newer truck. To many good used trucks with a ton of value left. Sorry. You’re neglectful towards your families financial future if you buy a newer vehicle without having a true need for it, and very few people do. If you can afford it that’s one thing and making payments doesn’t qualify that you can afford it. Instead of buying my “dream” truck I withdrew $80,000 from our checking went to the new dealer where one was, took a photo of my wife and I standing in front of it holding that $80,000 check and deposited it towards our mortgage. We eventually paid our house off January 2020. Enjoy your new truck. ✌️🤓
Being in the collision repair side of automotive repair I have serious reservations about the new aluminum trucks. We see issues that not even bill sees. The problem is fords "military grade" aluminum is so strong is brittle. The metallurgy is wrong. The ford aluminum cracks and rips out the rivets. We dont see these problems with other manufacturer aluminum.
Thisnis literally my story last December. My 2wd 03 f250 had alot of issues. Couldn't get it fixed well. Was in no shape to drive or haul it to y'all. So I sold it. Had lots of engine add on extras alot y'all have recommended to do for the 6.0. I got NOTHING for it. Went around town and searched for a new truck. Tried going used. Decided it was better for get warranty. Went new and got a 2019 lariat BASIC f250. Being a first time buyer, my mother payment for 7 years is 911. If I'd known covid was gonna hit, and ruin the Oilfield, I'd went used. Or rather If I'd known what was wrong with the 03 I'd payed 4500 dollars to fix it instead. Lol.
I am looking for a 6 L right now, but I also want a standard transmission. I can't for the life of me at 66 years old, all I want to do is put a camper on it and go spend 4 or 5 months trout fishing in the Western US. And do the Snowbird thing from Dec to March, in the Southern part of the US. I figure I can find a truck, do a full boat restoration and not come to anywhere near 90K for both the truck and the camper. If this is stupid tell me why. I am single no debt retired with a fly fishing addiction.
I was watching this yesterday and today my son in law sent me an ad for a 2011 F350 6.7 L with 190K miles. What are some things to look for with that year. I talked him out of a Dodge a couple of days ago.
I have a 6.0 with 264k miles. About a month ago just started idling high and engine light came on. I took it to o'Reilly's and hooked it up to scanner and was told injector pressure sensor low... Not sure what im going to do with it yet.
Bill there is a piece you are missing here.. one is that up here anyway during COVID they are offering close to 0% if you got good credit on a new truck.. you of course get all the new truck features.. if I want to install an aftermarket Telematics / navigation system (like a king ramnch new has) its 2-3k, dual zone climate on an 05? yeah right that never existed.. dpoes your 15k include new seats and carpet ? (always worn out on a 200k truck and costs another 2k to have done at a shop).. what about transmission, tires, rear gears? all brand new on a new truck.. whats that another 5k if I have to do those on my old truck? now another kicker? the person that doesnt have 15k cash.. thats right many people with trucks can get financed for that $962 payment and actually make it but dont have $15k cash to just plunk down.. not to mention the 19% interest for putting that 15k on a credit card.. a TRUE RESTORATION / update is going to end up being closer to 30k plus vs 15k to have a really nice truck. . esp if you need any body / paint work done..
This is the sort of guy bill is !? i am in europe i wrote to his and he has sent me a load of info etc, he could just have ignored me but he didn't. honest in your face facts and not crazy money, very very rare thing these days. you guys state side are lucky , to have some one like this , Bill keep up the good work. here in europe we have almost no one to work (do it well and right the first time round) . I know my ex 6.0 has been off the road for 9months na i am up to $9000 and still not fixed. so do you have a good deal here you sure do.
Bill I have a question for you, I have an '03 PS 6.0 with 329,000 mile. Went looking for new one the other day, just dont want to spend that kinda money. The truck runs good, minor ipr issues, been bullet proofed and deleted. We are getting ready to get a campler I would like to make sure it dependable out on the road. One of the thing I dislike about the 04/04 are the leaf spring up front, kills stearing radius. Have you ever swapped the front end of to an 05-08 supension, if so what kinda ballpark money if possible.
I'm looking at getting a 2008 e350 with the 6.0 diesel with 60,000 original miles for $10,000 is this a good year for this motor and is this a good buy?
Its coming Bill. Hey just done my head gaskets and HPOP and injectors 07 f250 at 270k. But I didn't delete anything went back to stock. Next time and there will be a next time I'll holla at ya.
I tried to explain this to one of my buddies and he just went and bought a brand new truck. On top of depreciation, I just don't see the point in a new truck...
Bill is correct and entertaining. In 2016 my brother in law needed my F-250 to haul cattle. So I gave it to him and decided to replace it with a 2016 6.7l F-250 4x4 and took out a loan instead of paying it off. The 50k was invested yielding me more money. Remember the stock market gains? In 2020 I bought a MF-2607H using the same logic with the calculation we are about to see inflation coming our way. Plus a tax write off. It’s economics and there’s a reason a bank will not. lend money for expense old equipment.. Book value. Just saying.
I have about 350,000 thousand miles on my 2005 F-350 with the 6.0 liter power stroke in it... I want to change it out and put a 7.3 Power Stroke in it... Would that be compatible with my 6.0 Transmission or not?
I would like a manual swap excursion but in the salt belt vehicles aren't worth the investment when they are rusting away. If i lived in the south id do it in a heartbeat.
I’ve had a 97. My gawd that thing road like hell. And way too loud/slow
This Man gets it.
I still have my ‘97 F-350 reg cab 7.3. 126k on it
@@guymann4016 you can swap the 05+ axles under them pretty easily these days and they ride great
"...this does not apply to 6.4, I'm sorry to offend you, but you should not have bought that crap in the first place!" -Bill LOL
Rest in peace good man. Can’t believe you are gone you will be missed Bill
We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like
Dave Ramsey Quote?
Ok Dave lol
Maybe for a mallcrawler truck but I tow and haul and make my livelihood with every truck I have except my Polaris Ranger because 🏁🏁 🏁
Aye, if we are stupid we pay people to live in skyscrapers, on yachts, and to buy islands.
Or we buy things and spend money on them, so we can save $40-50k on a truck that will last a long time.
Do run hot shot? If so what weight do you pull daily and what’s your mileage?
had a 6.0 ran great super nice truck just never trusted it when back to the 7.3 it runs and makes me money
Sounds like a personal problem
You just talked me in to buying a 7.3!
I live in Louisiana, but when I get ready to make my purchase, I’m making a trip to Atlanta. I’d rather have a built 6.0 than a $90k experiment.
Thank you for your business!!!
Update on my truck
So I had the engine replaced with one that has the upgrades such as the o ring heads, studs, shorter push rods built by Diesel Engine Machine Technologies out of Belgrade Montana.
Fixed Mine at PowerStroke Specialty in Buford Georgia, No Regrets !!!! Fix Your Truck Here
I live in the Yukon and have a 2005 6.0 f350 crew long box 4x4.
OMG I am not even a Ford guy can't stop watching his videos!
Yeah, I thought the same thing.
These guys have so much info to help and easy to talk with!
I really enjoy your videos as they have helped me out a ton! You should open up another shop here in the Westen states.
I’m not a big Ford or PowerStroke guy, butI love your videos. This video especially is 100% correct.
You may be the best salesman I've heard. I drive a GM and I want to bring you mine and its running fine lol.
Good luck the modern trucks that are out nowadays are real big pieces of shit and will never last 500,000 miles
@@thomasbarlow4223 2016 F-250 4x4 6.7l. 69k miles one set of tire so far. You will see where he said new truck will go 250k with no problems now.
Unbelievable.
cause you got people that are paying for it.. if we all stop buying trucks for a year i bet prices go down
Do you still work on the 7.3
@@jass7981 45,000 is still stupid money for any vehicle.
"You just gotta break ass on these people." Bill
My 2003 6.0 dropped a lifter and wiped a camshaft at 273k miles and I put in an 05 that bulletproofed with orirged heads, new Ford injectors, Johnson hylift HD lifters, main seals, regulated return and external oil cooler with BD7309 oil filter. Truck runs like a dream now.
I’ve been watching your videos all morning!! GREAT INFO! Long live the 6.0!
I put the banks rear diff cover on and haven't had a problem since
these guys at Powerstroke Specialty know their trade..no BS, just upfront knowledge and good craftsmanship.Been there, walked thru the whole place.Happy customer, they did me right..A++++
Bill did my 04 . Best money I've spent. I do wish I would have let him reseal the bottom end.
I got my truck built in Buford Georgia 3 years ago. What A Beast.
Had my truck done by Bill. Great job. Hobart Indiana.
Thank you for your business Mr. Ruiz !!!
Whew, I'm glad I found my 13 F250 for 30k with 14K miles. Its been a good truck so far.
6.7???
I love my 6.0, I pull a 38 ft rv half the time and run out of truck before motor
Wish I had the money sitting around. I would love to come buy one of the trucks you've built
Thanks again and keep up the quality work.
stated value insurance
What do you have to say about it?😁
It was an awesome truck, rode good and had good power and i loved the truck. My dad sold it still running and driving great. I was 10ish years old when he sold it so I couldn't buy it from him or nothing. Someday I'll have a 6.0 or better yet, a 7.3 with a manual trans
Very good video Bill!!!!!
Love all of them, definitely learn a lot from you and your crew!!!👍🏻
I am totally sold on this, sir! Stacking money aside...... might take a bit.
“To impress ppl that you don even like...” lol I felt these words 😂 I’ll restore my rusty 6.0
3:58 Lol. I love the, at times, brutal honesty.
Great video Bill, also you left out $5000 sales tax plus the interest on it
Perfect video for me.
Lol.
7.3l OBS til my back goes out
Why not put 6.0 in the 08 and 09 trucks that the 6.4 has failed? Would it be worth it? I see them put the 5.9 Cummins all the time. Thanks bill
Bill when are you going to show us your new truck after your 6.4 blew up and what you decided to get after
I am looking for a 6 L right now, but I also want a standard transmission.
This is such a great video. I have the same dilemma I have. 2005 6.0 with 297k on it, little rusty but damn it runs good.
Can you make playlist based on the displacement 7.3 , 6.0, 6.7 ... I find it hard to go back and find all your 7.3 videos.
I was watching this yesterday and today my son in law sent me an ad for a 2011 F350 6.7 L with 190K miles. What are some things to look for with that year. I talked him out of a Dodge a couple of days ago.
Have you stopped doing restorations on 7.3 SDs?
Has a shop called powerstroke speciality and won't work on the 7.3
Always fun to hear a smart funny dude talk 6.0l
I tried to explain this to one of my buddies and he just went and bought a brand new truck. On top of depreciation, I just don't see the point in a new truck...
The local dealer offered me 13k for my 2003 excursion when I stopped in last month to see a truck they had.. was like nope not for sale! Ever!
Agree 100% That is why I will die with the keys of my 7.3 in my hand!!!
Does a rebuilt 6.0 have hot shot potential ?
I don't know about neglected 7.3s starting on 10 degree days
Plugged in mine started at -15 let warm up and off she goes. Diesel treatment in tank is critical. Draining fuel separators before cold weather hits.
