Thank you so much for the lesson you are teaching your listeners. I have question to ask you regarding your sentence construction how to use Should, Could,and Would.
Why don’t you add (ing) to a verbal noun “rain “ in your sentence ? When a sentence starts with the main verb to be(am, is, are, was, and were) the noun rain changes to a gerund or verbal noun ending in ing.
You wrote down a sentence as ( If it’s not rain the children could play outside. )
If I were you I would write it down in three different ways.
1. If it’s not raining the children could play outside.
Here you started the sentence with verb (is) and the next noun “rain “ must play the role of a helping verb ( raining) instead of remaining as a noun rain.
2. If it doesn’t rain the children could play outside.
3. If there is no rain the children could play outside.
