  • Unitarians often argue that Jesus is not God on the basis of the fact that Jesus is called a man in Acts 2:22. This argument is facile and easily refuted as this video demonstrates.

Sensational...it is not only unitarians that goes to Acts 2:22 to point out that Jesus is just a man and therefore cannot be God. Christians believe that Jesus is both fully God and fully man. Pointing to his humanity does not refute his divinity since he posesses both.

You've go to remember that Unitarians have their own reasons for clingng to false doctrine. Like atheists and evolutionists, the bottom line is about remaining unrepentant for sin, and not having a love for THE truth. (John 14 v 6 and 2 Thessalonians 2 v 10) In every testimony where Jesus actually appears to the person who prayed to Him, that person KNOWS that He [Jesus] is God. Without a new heart and the Holy Spirit no-one can get victory over sin in their life, which Romans 6 explains in detail.

Actually before the book of Acts, Peter by the inspiration of God who is the Father know exactly who Jesus was (Matthew16:16) "You are the Christ Son of the living God".
Jesus is the Son of God not God the son..

Obviously Jesus is a man lol, what would be the point dying on a cross if HE wasn't? But just by pointing out I have flesh and bones does not show I don't also have a Spirit, likewise showing Christ's human nature does nothing to discredit Christ's eternal nature. Some verses speak of Christ's humanity, others His divinity. To understand what is happening we must understand that Christ is both Spirit and Flesh, just as us, the difference being Christ's Spirit is eternal and upholds all things. Jesus said He would raise His body, who is the "I" Jesus is referring? Obviously not the flesh because it is the one being raised. So who is the "I" ? Well the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of Christ is used interchangeably with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself said God is Spirit. So Christ is both fully God, fully man. Christ is the Spirit embodied, the Father clothed in flesh. The distinction between Son and Father is that of natures not persons. Man is composed of Spirit and body, so also Christ. According to the flesh Christ possessed a human will, physical limitations as all, as to truly atone in our place. As for Spirit, God, Eternal. According to the flesh grew in wisdom and favor, was tempted, grew tired, in reliance on the Spirit. According to the Spirit all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent. But at no point in Person is the Son distinct from the Father/Spirit, only in nature. This is the point most people miss, Christ applied the titles of YHWH to Himself, for example first and last. Christ said HE will come riding on the clouds, another YHWH title. Christ also declared He was the "I AM" which is another YHWH title. So we can't say Christ is distinct from YHWH in person, only in nature, as YHWH is Spirit, and Christ is the Spirit manifested in the flesh. Jesus said, "not my will be done but yours." Understand this demonstrates the human will in submission to the will of the Spirit, with no distinction of person. By becoming man, this was not limited to merely having a body, but also the physical will to eat, to learn, to rest, to overcome temptation through reliance on the Spirit. But again the flesh and the Spirit make up 1 person, not 2 not 3. Isaiah 9:6

Another verse that makes it impossible to deny the deity of Jesus Christ, is Acts 20:28 which ends, '... the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood.'. A straight reading of Genesis 2:7 makes it impossible to separate soul from body and spirit. Even animals have 'nephesh', the Hebrew word for soul. Jesus keeps these two (body and soul) together in Matthew 10:28. Both are dead without His breath of life (spirit) being received. Ecclesiastes 12:7.

Genesis 2: 7 says Adam became a living soul, not that he had a soul. In the same way animals are called as being, not having living souls. So the whole trinity comparison fails.

In fifty-three of these places there is a marginal rendering which calls attention to the fact that the word is "nephesh", while in 229 passages the English reader has hitherto been left in ignorance of the fact. The English word "soul" is in every occurrence the rendering of the Hebrew nephesh, except in Job 30:15 and Isa. 57:16.
Though, with these two exceptions, the English word "soul" always represents the Hebrew nephesh, nephesh is not always translated "soul".
This Appendix will exhibit all the varieties of translation; and, while it is not intended to teach either Theology or Psychology, it will give such information as will enable every Bible reader to form his own views and come to his own conclusions on an important subject, about which there is such great controversy.

Jesus in Revelation is also worshipped together with God by every creature in existence (Revelation 5:13-14; 20:4-6) and shares the throne of Heaven with God above all creatures (Revelation 7:17; 22:1-3). The point of Him saying that the words were not His was to illustrate that His doctrine and works were not His own invention but were His from and by the Father, because He and the Father are inseparable. You understand that verses which point to Christ as a man or as a distinct person from the Father don't phase Trinitarians who believe that He is both God and man and is not the same person as the Father, don't you? My comeback: Affirming the Consequent. Jesus also does his works (Jn 5:17).
If I say my Father did his work on the New York New York Hotel here in Las Vegas, that does not rule out my Father’s Co Workers from also working on the New York New York Hotel. Just that I am Affirming my Father’s contribution to the building of the New York New York Hotel. Likewise, all Jesus is doing is affirming the Father’s work in him. Not that Jesus also does not do his works along with the Father.

Would you have a discussion with the channel named “Kingdom in Context” on the trinity? He said he’d gladly have you on. There’ve been a couple guys but no one that really knew how to defend the trinity.

There are no texts in the Greek that suggests that Jesus has two natures at the one time. To be God is not a nature. To be human is. The ancient words translated as god simply means a powerful one or a strong one or a mighty one.

@@kardiognostesministries8150 Acts 2:21 does not apply that text to Jesus. This text refers to the Almighty God.
Veres 22 moves from God to the one that God used - his son Jesus.
Acts 2:22 ""Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed *_through_* Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know--" (NASV)
Most Bibles use the word *_through_* the KJV uses *-by._* The Greek text uses the word "dia" meaning "a primary preposition denoting the channel of an act; through". This shows that Jesus was Goi\ds agent, the one that God acted through in order for Jesus to perform miracles and wonders
