    What a GREAT review. Thank you. Color imbedded, insulated, predator resistant, no rot, no moisture retention, pollen trap, great ventilation, white color option, stronger than wood, etc.

    Cool review of the hive. I would be interested to see a follow up video that shows when you place the queen and the bees in there. Good stuff!

    These look super cool. They only thing that has always held me back is the cost. That set up is almost $400, while a comparable assembled wooden hive set up is $200 on the high side. Though I have seen some videos where people add wooden boxes on top of these. That might be an option, especially if you run single brood boxes. Would love to hear how these do in keeping bees alive through winter. Cold up here in Central New York.

    Thank you for the review of the apimaye hive. I am thinking of getting one also. I will be a first time backyard beekeeper. What breed of Bee are getting for your hive? I am still deciding, but thinking of maybe Russian bees.

    • @BumbleThyme
      @BumbleThyme  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching, i ended up getting Italian be so that my children can help. But from what I've read, Russians are quite a bit more mite resistant, but require more smoke and expertise.

    Hi thanks for posting this. I wonder how the winter feeding works out since the food supply will not be directly above the cluster? It looks like the bees would climb on top of the feeding frame to access food. I have had success In wooden hives with using Inverted sugar board. I appreciate your insight on this...

    • @BumbleThyme
      @BumbleThyme  4 года назад

      Kerri, As far as I can see there is no issue with the bees accessing the food, APIMAYE Designed the hive so the bees can access it internally just above the frames. It’s one of the best Designed Integrated feeding systems that I’ve researched.
      I’ll have more on this in the coming videos, as I receive my NUC pack In two weeks! Super excited.

    ty for sharing, I want bees :) could you share why you chose the tan over the white?

    • @BumbleThyme
      @BumbleThyme  4 года назад +1

      for videography the tan is much better, white would have reflected to much light and over exposed my shots. but I could see that white would possibly be better for more UV intense climates.
      thanks for watching!

    I'm new to bee keeping and looking to get my first hive. So bare with me. But arent you suppose to have 2 brooder boxes and he supers above? This looks like just two brooder boxes. Or are you looking to Add wooden supers in time?

    • @BumbleThyme

      APIMAYE.com sells supers, I'll add one this year.

    I don't understand why people that don't use the standard Langsthroth
    hive always blow hard to show how much better their unconventional hive
    is.
    I don't see a single commercial beekeeper using Apimaye hive.
    Commercial beekeepers are in for the money and if the Apimaye hive gave
    them an advantage they would certainly be using it.
    I guess Apimaye exploits inexperienced beekeepers.

    So would you stay in a room that was totally plastic? So why subject your bees to that.

    • @BumbleThyme
      @BumbleThyme  3 года назад

      so far they love it. no mold, no mites and no lingering moisture even with 2 ft snow this winter. I'll keep monitoring though.

    Is it me or can you not latch it with the feeders on to
    ?? That makes no sense.

    • @BumbleThyme
      @BumbleThyme  3 года назад

      there should be two latches, the top one should be the ones you use when the feeder is off.
