The area is really worth exploring there and forth! We had so much fun just strolling around but if we had more time, we would definitely go into some more art spaces, museums and obviously to the cinema hehe
You guys didn't go to the mainstream of the Love River. The one you passed by was just a small branch of it. The mainstream of Love River is much bigger and much more beautiful.
Actually you can visit police stations sometimes.😂 If you need water or toilet and there’s no other choice then they are your last hope. Personally I never did it but policemen are best friends for travelers by foot or bicycle in Taiwan .
You guys were actually near the mainstream of Love river. The music center is at the mouth where the river meets the sea. That long ride on the light rail😂
Nice little tour you guys made, I suggest that you guys might be interested in Fo Kuang San(the largest Buddhist complex in all South Eastern Asia ), it can be reached by public transportation(take a bus at Zuoyin station). Or go to one of the popular touring route, from Sizihwan(by MRT) to old British Consulate, Chung San University, and move to pier , from there take a ferry boat to Cijin district.
So many great recommendations! If only we spent more time in Kaohsiung… We usually visit places for 3-5 days so by the time we leave we receive the best comments 🥲
@@JayandKarolina Yes,it makes sense. No need to exhaust yourselves , for the world is not large, but it is definitely not small at all. Enjoy your stay, ciao .
beautiful Love River near by the MRT [City Council station] , you take a short U-bike ride to reach the bank of Love River. Strongly suggest you to take a Love Boat night cruise, BREATH TAKING.....
you can choose how much ice and sugar you like for your tea :) each shop may have different scales/ratios. I normally go for 25-30% sugar. I think you can rent a Ubike to cycle around the river, it’s very pretty and quite a long way.
Kaohsiong used to be a heavily polluted, underdeveloped industrial harbor city. After 1998, a series of DPP mayors, with a 1.8 year break, took over and put in great effort and funds in transforming the city into the future of Taiwan.
@bijindesu7784 Most countries run on huge deficits. Kaohsiong's deficits are the result of insufficient financial support from the central government. Give me one proof that Kaohsiong is the most corrupted. Record shows Taipei under Ke has the highest numbers of officials charged with corruption related crimes.
I hope the Dragon and Tiger pagodas are open when I get there in 2 weeks. Question...did you walk all the way from Pier 2 to the LOVE lookout? There is no public transit to take you there? How did you get there by foot?
It seems like the construction will be taking place for a long time 🫣 We actually did walk from Pier2 area to the top of the lookout point with little breaks for lunch and the bubble tea but it's manageable and you stroll around interesting streets! To the Lotus Pond, you need to take a bus though cause it's quite far 👍
Bro, I think that green veggie is called “Water Spinach” or “Water Convolvulus”, we normally have it with fish sauce, shrimp sauce or garlic sauce, you made the right choice though🎉 Another Awesome Episode👍👍👍
i definitely should visit Kaohsiung one day!!! looks nicer than Taipei for me ^^ i love The Pier Art Centre..but why almost no people there? ^^ and the Lotus Pond also nice place ❤
You should! It’s completely different! If you’re into art, you would love it for sure ✌️❤️ We were actually shocked that it wasn’t many tourists there! It worked our better for us I guess since we had more of an authentic experience!
@@JayandKarolina yees!! i love to visit any art gallery or art related place in other countries..already take note for this one! thanks Jay and Karolina ^^
We went there mid-October and stayed until the first week of November! The temperatures in April should range from around 20-28°C depending on the region!
priority seat is not for disabled people or elderly,is for people who "need".this is a public issues in Taiwan "is it necessary to have priority seats?"
Jay, you were at the wrong station and the wrong "Love River center". The famous center of Love River is just few meters away from the Pier Center/Harbor you've just visited. Just follow the riverside and you'll get the Love River famous point. And the station name doesn't have "Love River" in it. Get off at Love Pier station or Glory Pier station.
@@JayandKarolina Google Maps is right, but I don't think that's the part of Love River you were looking for. That's why nobody there and there is nothing much to see. The famous area of Love River is a lovely area with spacious pedestrian, parks, giant letters of LOVE, bridges, and a nice cityscape near the harbor.
Most Taiwanese get their (bubble) tea either half sugar or no sugar. Just tell the clerks, they will adjust the sugary level for you. You can get 30% sugar, half sugar, no sugar or normal, which is very sweet. If you are still in Taiwan, show them this Chinese characters 半糖 for Half sugar 無醣 for no sugar You can even tell them to adjust the temperature for your beverage.
@@JayandKarolina You bet. I find it funny, that many Taiwanese think foreigners like very sweet drinks and desserts. And many foreign RUclipsrs find the beverages too sweet.😆
I'm going to taiwan soon. I'm regretting it. it looks like extended Los Angeles chinatown. But our real china town in san gabriel valley it's nicer. But the food is expensive here. Well not expensive like in the middle because it's the US. still cheaper than High end or luxury. USA is more diverse and more chinese. We have all sorts. We chinese live peacefully in los angeles. Liek taiwnese, hong kong, viet chinese, and mainland chinese.
We really did! RUclips memories never die and actually coming back to that day we're really thinking of going to Taiwan soon! Planning maybe for December/January 😍 Also, if you were about to advise us, where's best to go around this time? Any suggestion much appreciated 🙏
The public transportation in Kaohsiung is not as convenient as in Teipei. Most locals ride scouters or drive cars. And people in Kaousiung tend to ignore traffic signals, so be watchful. The salary earned in the South is commonly lower than the North's, so the cost of living is normally cheaper. By the way, give you an rough idea how cheap living in Taiwan. According to IMF, GDP per capita in Taiwan is 35513 dollars, compared with UK's 56471; however, its PPP is 73344, UK's 47318. You may see the food prices or fares of transportation, the cost of general things.

If you don't mind ,I recommend you can go to the eastern coast of Taiwan, there is very chill and full of secret cuisines 🤤(from Taiwanese)
Thanks for the tips! The most East we go is Hualien 😇
Free bus is provided for local residents only, ex, Taichung residents take free Taichung bus for 10KM only.
All clear now! Thanks for sharing!

15:50 Omg 😍 the Taiwanese luxury again 🥥🧋
You did a good research about the city!! great!!
You are absolutely right. It’s called morning glory in the UK. 👍🏻
Good to know!
Great video

Artco-district is so cool. ❤ It looks even nicer now on your video . I wish I could have been there at night which I didn't make then.

@JayeshChhaya but before riding bike ,you probablely need to register a bike account on website with easy card number ,that is quiet complicated 🤔

The duck rice also has braised pork on top of the rice. The vegetable is called water spinach(morning glory).

I live in Taipei now and probably will afterwards . Though I like Taipei more, but thanks for introducing my hometown Kaohsiung

Amazing 🎉
