Hey Chris. I've been watching your videos all afternoon. Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge. Feels like I got to go fishing today even though my home waters are just too big right now. Please keep them coming. You're a GREAT asset to this wonderful sport.
That 50 pounder was a nice whisker pig Chris. I'm late viewing the video, but I can sleep on that and dream about catching one that big one day.Good night.
@@slungercatoutdoors This year wasnt my turn I reckon. Missed a big one. Maybe I'll get a chance at him again. If I can have a day off from pullin Amazon frieght?
Chris here in NC for the last couple weeks, we’ve been catching flathead in 10 to 17 feet of water on main lake flats , the down river side , but the water temp here is 50. Oh and I wish I was with you to help with that premature netting attemp,, ha ha ha That makes three attempts ha ha ha

Keep up the great work and thank you for what you have done for the Catfishing World. That was awesome Chris!!!...I'm still experimenting with some jingle bells at the end of my slinky weights but I have been slowed down big time with my new grandson so..Only time will tell but when I get out there after the cats I will be incorporating the bells for sure....Great job again Sir!!! 👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣😁😁😁
Thank you and enjoy that grandson so many things I take for granted today I learned from my grandfather. Wish he was still around to see what Catfishing has become.
Hey Chris Thank you Sir...One day I would really like to concentrate more on cats and do similar videos like you do where you pinpoint how you do things...Definitely not wanting to copy you..I just like the way you present your catfishing vids👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣
Chris, this must be an old video as the leaves are still on the trees and still green. Not really extremely cold? Are you catching any now that is is cold?
This was mid September and the temps were not real cold but the 40 degree temperature swing was definitely a extremely big cold front. As for right now the river has been completely blown out and I’ve not been able to do any fishing lately.
Man O Man. I don't fool with a Net with a fish that big. Too easy to lose them brother. I just grab that lip when they come up. Can't do it with Big blues but those Flats are easy. Keep up the good work.
So recently I've been buying skipjack by the case and only had a chance to fish with it once. Caught a couple blues just under 20 lbs so I did have success but it seems slow although of course that could have been just the day. I was curious if you would prefer live shad and or cut Shad vs frozen skipjack.
Very good question and for me a lot of it depends on time of year and area I’m fishing. For example in the spring I’ll use lots of shad cut early and then start working in live shad, skipjack and other bait fish. Then as the water starts to warm up more the skipjack will come in to play more along with live shad and moon eye throughout the summer then as the temps start to fall I do all that in reverse then once the temps get back down in the fall toward winter I’ll be back to using all shad cut. Hope this helps.
chris thanks for this video guys tell me the flatheads are mot caught in winter i tell them you not in rite place or right bait this will one i'll show them wrong
Justin I got them from John Null ( Regular Dude Fishing) Regular Dude Premium Baits Look him up on Facebook and on RUclips. Great guy and very good bait.
Joe if I remember right the water temp was still in the low 60’s during this video. And yea it happens from time to time but normally do to something that I’m fishing in nicking the line.

Oh an that size of flathead right there will pull your arms off
A man might horse a 20 in , or 25 , or maybe a 30 but there ain’t no horse big enough, to yank one that size up , ha ha ha
Lol you got that right. It’s an awesome fight.
That blue cat was a good eating size there don't eat Chanel cats the got a taste I don't like
It sure was but I normally don’t eat much out of the river. I normally catch a few channels out of the lake to eat.
