- The Railway Series Book 13, Duck And The Diesel
If anyone asks what these routes and models are from, They are from Sodor Island 3D, WildnorWester, Train4475 3D which are closed now so don't ask for them.
All stories written by the Rev. W Awdry
Everything belongs to their rightful owners.
I love that Duck helps with Murdoch's goods train, even though he didn't appear in the original book or TV episode.
And molly
Great opening and nice transition scene where City of Truro leaves and Diesel arrives. Although Domeless Engines seems like the odd man out of the four stories, it really does tie in because it is City of Truro's visit that is the catalyst for Duck's pride which eventually wears on the bigger engines and sets the conditions for Diesel to make them turn on Duck. It has always bothered me that this first story was not adapted along with the Diesel Trilogy in proper order in the original TV series. But this video did a phenomenal job of conveying the entire story where it felt like there was a through line with each tale. They did the same thing with Troublesome Engines where they excluded Henry and the Elephant from the TV adaptation until much later. the last lines of that original story where Gordon and James tell Henry he has been poorly treated begin setting the ground work for their eventual strike in the next story.
The most jarring adaptation imo is definitely Gordon the big engine mainly with leaves being drastically altered to trouble with mud and pushed back to season 3 then paint pots and Queens still taking place right after down the mine but for some reason wasn't adapted till season 4. Some adaptations imo were definitely better than the original such as Henry the green engine
AGREED!
There are some great BR models. Idk why, but I laughed so much whenever I saw the red balloon. You did a great job on this, and nothing beats Rushton’s narration
The comments are right, the SFX and music volumes need to be turned down and the narration up. That being said, I love the opening montage of City of Truro, and the transition of Diesel ominously arriving as City of Truro leaves.
Super super super super super super super amazing amazing amazing oh my God so so so so good video amazing video
Excellent work like always Wyatt.
i love the intro
EXCELLENT WORK AS ALWAYS FOR SURE!
I Love Is Opening Music
It's Train by Red Box.
You either need to turn up the narration volume or turn down everything else, very hard to hear you over the blaring music and background sounds.
Agreed.
I can hear everything.....

27:03 That line was removed due to the ending of the previous episode being too cruel for young viewers.
16:10 That’s a pretty terrifying shot.
Murdoch: Thanks Duck
18:15 This Music Is Funky. Thanks Mate. X
Which narrator sang that song?
Oh Yeah Right. It Was George Carlin From Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure And Bill And Ted's Bogus Journey And Willie Ruston From The Trap Door And Michael Angelis And Ringo Starr From The Beatles. Thanks Martin Liu Mate. X
12:49 - 13:08 IMO, it would've made more sense for Edward to wear his exhausted face in that scene.
Duck Where Are You Going
Pop got the The TV show
I like the video but maybe lower the column of the chugging when people are talking because I didn’t hear very well
13:10 Where did you get the turntable sound effect?
(19:39) How did Diesel get the nickname ideas? Well, that's a long story for another time.
What music was playing when the trucks were chasing duck
Fireflash Landing from Thunderbirds 1969.
THE RAILWAY SERIES NO. 13
DUCK AND THE DIESEL ENGINE
I have a question. Why is it in the book Edward was annoyed with Duck like Gordon & James were? I'm glad that was changed to Henry completing the big engine trio in the TV episode.
That's from the illustrations.
If models for it were available, would you do an indoor roundhouse for Tidmouth Sheds in Volume 8 onward, or would you still wait until Christopher's books?
I would wait 'till after James and the Diesel Engines.
Great job on the video, question I love to know where you get the route from?
tidmouth: westernroutes
knapford junction: si3d (most likley)
When Gordon went through Edwards Station he very rude to poor duck deseil Gordon Henry and James are so mean to duck but Edward was really kind to him. That was very nasty what deasil James Gordon and Henry did too duck
Well, Henry, Gordon, and James were just victims, diesel is the meanest of all
15:53 This Is My Funny Scene In The Show. Thanks Mate. X

i like your railway series videos
Thank you.
@@wyattloughrie1982 at 14:40 where did you and the brake sound effect?
@@jacobwilcox8659 It’s a stock sound effect
4:01 - I don’t know why, but I can’t say I like seeing the 2D-faced RWS Duck and Edward in the same scene as the 3D-faced RWS... Other engines. I don’t remember why DieselD261 cancelled his 3D-faced productions, but I wish he finished Edward and Duck before he quit.
And Oliver, too.
Actually it was WildNorWester who canceled the release because of one user reskined his models.
Wyatt Loughrie I know about that, but it’s just that after releasing a 3D-faced RWS Thomas, Henry, Gordon, James, and Percy, we haven’t seen DieselD261 be active with releases for some reason. I always wanted to see his take on Edward, Duck, and Oliver.
@@gameoholic1994 Well me too.
Two things : 1. ... The music and background noise was overpowering and drowned out the narration. ... 2. I hope Gerry Anderson doesn't sue you for any breech of copyright ?
How do you get duck?
At 14:40 where did you find that brake sound?
5:21 Goof: What's that small railroad track doing here?
It's part of a turntable model and it's not a goof.
but gordon still has his dome did you use a different model for the dome falling off?
I used a Sodor Island 3D 2010 TV Series model as a closeup since it has an animated dome flying off.
The story toke place in 1957

What if Sir Topham Hatt tied Buttercup onto the rails and Thomas ran her over?
That would be such rubbish.
Martin Liu Why?
@@GR_ThomasandFriends Because she belongs to Cartoon Network not Mattel and that counts as putting a child to sleep forever. Also, what does the Powerpuff Girls have to do with it?

@@wyattloughrie1982and if that actually happens, Buttercup would have a funeral and Lady Hatt would divorce Sir Topham Hatt!
