This is why our Founders created a federalist system. Power is supposed to be as close to the individual as is possible, so any negative influence will be contained and not systemic. The left has been slowly changing this system by centralizing power. Making the people believe they need bigger government. The founders also never envisioned life long politicians or better yet, politicians that did nothing in their lives except work in public office. I fear any change we make wil again be temporary if it works at all with how relied upon big centralized government currently is.
